Miles "Wynaut!" The Wynaut mulled over this for a few moments- if it was captured, it wouldn't quite need to worry about being eaten. It wiggled its way out of Swellow's talons, feeling its feet touch the ground before removing the Destiny Bond from each other. Swellow squawked, seizing the opportunity to peck down on the Wynaut for the threat, but Wynaut jumped away with a giggle and used Mirror Coat in a dazzling display. Then, it repelled the force of the Swellow's previous Gust in a counter. Swellow cawed in fear and pain as a larger Gust barreled towards it, being buffeted by it. With another squawk, it flapped its wings and took to the skies, finally being released from the Wynaut. Though, it knew it would come back for the boy later- he didn't seem too bad a person, if not for that sudden scare with his Torchic earlier. A whisper of 'aw nuts' could be heard from a distance, but it was far too soft to be heard by either Trainer. Wynaut turned to Verity, letting out a loud "Wynaut!" to get her attention.

"Why not indeed?" Verity laughed in a tinkling tone. She felt rather bad for Jaden, who had been really eager to capture the Swellow before the Wynaut had provoked it into taking off, possibly forever. "So then, Wynaut," Verity began, kneeling down to his height and looking directly at the crinkled, cheerful-looking eyes of the Bright Pokemon. "If you're agreeing to traveling with me and maybe being caught, would you prefer we head back to New Bark, which is closer to this part of the Route in case you decide not to stay with me, or we could head on toward Cherrygrove, which is farther but gives us more time to get to know each other? What sounds good to you?" Verity and Jaden had already agreed to heading back to New Bark but with the Swellow gone and the pair no longer locked in a stalemate due to Destiny Bond, this made their travel much less awkward, and not having to double back would be more productive anyway. Of course, the choice was now up to the wild Wynaut and the trainers would be prepared to follow it either way.

Miles Wynaut stared at the girl for a few moments, cutely tilting his head to the side. "Wy..." it thought, before jumping into the girl's arms before she could finish. The Wynaut didn't quite care- all it wanted to do was to leave and hopefully not get eaten again. He cast a distasteful look at the Glameow though, mildly paranoid for a moment before returning his gaze to the Trainer girl's with a huge goofy grin upon his face.

Kasier: "Let me give you a brief biology lesson, kid!" The man laughed, "Goldeen is a physical attacker. They have long horns so they can fight off predators that come near their eggs, and the males use them to attract mates. Their natural predators grew to resist special attacks, so Goldeen grew to become a physical attacker. Of course they can still use special attacks, but those mostly have to do with Goldeen's ability to break the sound barrier with supersonic and water pulse." The man was rather smart about water pokemon. He did have a passion for them after all. "That was a peck attack." He informed Gale before planning his counter strike. Remoraid regained its composure and awaited a command. "Here comes an egg move! Remoraid use Octazooka!" He called out. The Remoraid generated ink within a sac in its body before hurling it up and firing it like a cannonball at Goldeen. The water blackened around the attack, but the fountain's running water would clear it up after a few minutes.

Gale was surprised as Goldeen hit the Remoraid with her Peck, he wouldn't imagine Water Type pokemon could use such move. The boy smiled and cheered for Goldeen for having done such a good job at countering the Remoraid. The boy was still cheering when the man spoke, telling him more about Goldeen and how her species was focused on physical attacks, something he was not aware of. "well that just means I can expect more moves like that "Peck" attack from Goldeen" the boy thought to himself. "thanks, I'll keep that in mind" he answered to the man.
Gale checked his pockets, remembering that in his letter, Elm mentioned something about how the pokdex would be of great use not only for the him in his research but for the trainers as well, maybe he could learn more of Goldeen is he used it. He watched how the Remoraid, though young, used a powerful move like Octazooka, yeah, Gale was not aware of the exact level a pokemon should have to learn a move, but he knew Octazooka was a move so powerfull only a seasoned Octillery could use, and he saw one using it against a Sharpedo to scare away the predator from the shores a few years back. "that is a really strong pokemon" Gale commented to the man, while Goldeen struggled to ge away from the inky water. As soon as he found his pokedex he pointed it to Goldeen, or at least, what he could see of Goldeen to check what it said about the pokemon, specifically her movepool Peck, Tail Whip and Water Sport apparently her only attacking move was Peck, but he could work with the other two. "ok, let's try this... Goldeen! use Tail Whip to disperse the ink from the water around you and as soon as you get a clear view of that Remoraid, you use Peck again!" the boy called excited, he couldn't believe he was giving orders to his pokemon, orders that she could use now. Goldeen nodded under the water as moving as fast as she could he tailfin, she made a good portion of water to clean, at least it was enough to find her opponent. Now with a clear view, she would get payback from that painful Octazooke, launching herself at the Remoraid with another Peck attack. "go Goldeen I know you can win this!" the boy cheered his pokemon.

Sasha watched as the Swellow flew away, annoyed that a catch had just slipped out of her hands like that. Grumbling in annoyance, she tried to climb a tree to get a better vantage point. As she scaled it, she sat atop a branch. Mama hovered close by, worried for her safety while keeping her eyes open for any opponents. Sasha squinted, trying to see where the exit to Cherrygrove was. There was suddenly a loud rattling on the branch and Sasha squealed as she clung onto dear life by the sudden jolt.

Jaden shouted, jogging in the Swellow's direction with his arm extended. The bird may have evaded him this time, but if they ever met again he would be fully prepared to add it to his team. It was his type of Pokemon, and if he wanted it, he had to have it. He turned to Verity, realizing that the Wynaut from the incident was now free of the glowing Destiny Bond and more than happy to accompany the trainer on her journey. He smiled, obviously happy for her, but wanted to move on.
"So, where we headed now? Which direction?"

Verity raised an eyebrow coolly and pursed her lips. Wynaut jumped out of her arms and landed safely by her feet, giggling in a goofy manner again. "Well, I was going to leave that up to Wynaut but he seems to not care one way or the other, right Wynaut?" The Wynaut smirked and nodded happily, snuggling with Verity a bit more. By this time, Nyaru was starting to get a bit jealous. The tomcat harrumphed and flicked his bouncy, spring-like tail a bit, whacking the newest addition to the team with his cottony white tail tip before purring loudly and curling around his trainer's legs. The purple haired girl watched in amusement. "I was thinking that we should just head onto Cherrygrove if Wynaut doesn't particularly care about when he's 'officially' caught one way or the other but...Cherrygrove Town might be farther away than we hoped so it might be best to turn around now and head to the Pokemart in New Bark quickly before heading back out toward the west again? At least that way we won't be as likely to pass up on any other potential captures, right?" The girl waited for Jaden to decide but was willing to follow regardless of his decision. Wynaut and Nyarumaa continued to fight over cuddling rights over Verity's ankles.

Jaden mulled over the question, rubbing the back of his neck. Torchic, who was still waiting for a name of his own, waited patiently at his feet. It wandered toward Nyaru, giving off a cheerful chirp and jumping as high as its two feet could take it. The chick stopped when it noticed the Glameow's tail, slightly mesmerized by the precise bounces of its tail. It seemed as if it were following the beat of some unheard song. Jaden scooped the Pokemon up, breaking it from the trance. The boy pulled out his Pokedex. He had become slightly familiar with it after identifying the Staraptor, Starly, Wynaut, and Swellow. After a moment of button pressing, Jaden was able to make a decision based on his given map, "According to the map, we're no where near New Bark. We should probably head back and pick up supplies then continue on."

Dracoon: Climbing onto the branch Sasha currently occupied was a small ape-like pokemon with a pink nose. It looked rather harmless and a bit curious. The tan creature climbed closer to the girl. (Mankey)
Kaiser: The peck slammed the Remoraid once again, and this time the man decided to pull out some advanced tactics. He wanted to teach the boy how to become a better battler from the start so he can get a leg up on the other kids. "Remoraid breach and then use water gun!" He commanded. The fish leaped out of the water until it was a few feet in the air and blasted a water gun downwards at Goldeen hopefully to push it down in the shallow fountain to make it smash against the concrete on the bottom.

"I have received your application to receive a starter pokemon and I am writing to inform you that you have been accepted. Please come to my lab in New Bark Town to collect your starting pokemon and the new pokedex I have developed. There is a new feature that will help you a lot as a pokemon trainer! You should also take on the pokemon gym challenge so you can get stronger with your partner pokemon to help you with the research. Good luck and see you soon" -Prof Elm
The slight breeze swept against Zander's unusual ice blue hair, through the window. He hurriedly crammed his stuff into his bag. Last night, anxiety had kept him awake and he had slept in longer than he wanted to. He looked into the mirror above his sink in the rented hotel room. "Hello, Zander Lance Star, today is your day. All those years until now? All for today and every single day that follows." He smiled at himself. His past hit him, pacifidlog and everything log-like that had to do with it. He sure was looking forward to the future.
He had set out and had already reached the Lab. He opened the door, and spotted a man he instantly recognized as Professor Elm. He applied his winning grin. "Hello Professor!" He handed his letter to the professor.

The girl felt something gazing at her, and Mama buzzed to warn her. With a shriek of surprise, she fell off her branch and out of the tree. Landing face first, she glanced up to see that it was just some Mankey that was staring at her. "Mama..." she grumbled, getting up and dusting herself off, "It's just a Mankey. I've wrestled dragons, this is small fry." Mama shook her head, confused for a few moments before realizing what she had done. The Yanmega sighed loudly, sounding like a squeaky door when the giant bug did. Sasha looked around, trying to see if she was able to get better luck with other Pokémon without getting spooked or falling out of more trees.

Verity nodded and steered the group back toward New Bark. It just made a lot more sense to head back to a location that was closer than heading on toward Cherrygrove, which was still far away, and potentially missing out on anything else. Verity and Jaden quickly headed for the Pokemart, followed by their Pokemon. Verity returned Nyarumaa to his Pokeball and the newly name Okéoké (the French species name equivalent for Wynaut) walked inside with her. The Wynaut seemed especially happy at the moment. Verity bought three Pokeballs, a Potion, and an Antidote just in case with some of her money. Then the purple haired girl quickly caught the Wynaut in the gleaming, new red and white capture device and was happy for her latest addition to the team now that it was finally official. While waiting for Jaden to finish up buying whatever he liked in the shop, Verity pulled her earrings out and quickly attached Nyaru and Oké's Pokeballs to her earring studs for safe-keeping and then placed them back into her earlobes to look neatly aesthetic. The girl waited patiently on a park bench outside the shop, folding one leg over the other sit politely in her short skirt and hummed to herself, wondering when Jaden would finish so they could set out once again.

Gale watched his Goldeen landing another succesfull attack, so far he was doing well in the battle, but it was still a long way to win it. The man called an order and Gale watched amazed how the Remoraid leaped out of the water and while in mid air, released a shot of water at Goldeen. That was amazing, an image that reminded him all the time he saw water pokemon jumping out of the sea and how marvelous their silhouettes looked against the sunlight. But, his amaze was cut off when he heard Goldeen emiting a painful sound before diving under water and clashing with the hard bottom of the fountain "goldeen!" the boy called worried. Goldeen took some time to recover, that had been a really painful hit, but it was not done yet. The goldfish pokemon swum back to the surface and even when she was hurt, her eyes were filled with determination, it was not going down just yet. Gale watched his pokemon's determination and understood he was not a just boy watching pokemon on the beach anymore, he was now a trainer and he had to act like one. Shaking his head to clear his mind he looked abck at the fountain "Goldeen, I know you can swim fast, why don't you show them how fast you can go" he said to the pokemon. Goldeen nodded and started moving her body, her wavy fins moving fast as she swum through the fountain, moving as fast as she could in the reduced space "now, go around Remoraid and when you get the chance use your Peck attack again!" the young trainer called. Goldeen immediately started swimming around the smaller blue fish, taunting it with movements close to it, hoping to confused the pokemon so it would be too confused to dodge the Peck attack which finally came from behind the Remoraid.

Jaden browsed the small selection, unsure of what he had wanted. His quickest decision was the three Pokeballs, items he knew he would need later in his journey. When seeing what Verity bought, he followed suit and picked up a Potion with a Paralyz Heal rather than an Antidote, hoping to balance out the status conditions between the two of them. His last purchase was something he didn't quite understand. The Repel stated it would make it so that only stronger Pokemon appeared, but it seemed stupid to use it when his Pokemon hadn't even gotten in a battle yet. The boy picked up his Torchic, who he had decided would from then on be called Tyson, and rushed outside the building. He playfully pulled Verity up and began running toward the forest, hoping she would follow.
