Sasha casually produced a Pokèball, ignoring how the price tag had been viciously torn off. Tapping the Yanmega on the head, the enormous dragonfly was engulfed in the red light. The ball fell onto the ground, shaking a few times before the light dimmed to signal a successful capture. She grinned- she did get a powerful Pokèmon after all. Expanding the ball despite her hands hurting, she released the Yanmega once more. "You'd need a nickname...how about 'Mama'? It only makes sense, since you have a small litter of babies that you just said goodbye to," she stated and the Yanmega nodded to herself. She set her sights on the Staraptor, and wagered that the trainers were disturbing her brood. It was common knowledge that Staraptors would fight until their exhaustion and fall from the skies- Sasha was waiting for that to happen and to seize the opportunity to do it. In the meantime, she craftily scrutinized a pair of unattended belts belonging to the harassed Trainers. If she could use a move to dislodge one of the Balls...well, wouldn't that be grand? The newly-named Mama hummed quietly, noticing Sasha falling silent and understanding that she was watching the other humans.

Kaiser: "Hello there!" Professor Elm shouted from the back of the lab as he quickly closed the gap between them. He snatched the letter from the boy's hands and inspected it. "Ahh, you're Gale." He said, and shook the boy's hand replacing the letter. Before he could speak the Professor led him forward to the back of the lab. "Come with me and we'll give you a pokemon!" He was rather excitable for an older man. Elm led Gale through the automatic doors and into the room packed full of shelves that held many pokeballs. He motioned to the giant computer monitor in the center of the room. "Place your hand on the scanner, please."
MDF: A Staraptor flew above the girl as she ran into the grass. Verity was getting a bit too close to where her children were playing. Not too far off were 3 Starly chicks that were hopping about and singing happily. The first swoop was just a warning. The next one would be a Close Combat. "Oh god!" Jaden shouted at the first swoop, almost instinctively pulling himself and Verity back. When the bird had backed away he released her and blushed, realizing he had actually grabbed her around the waste and nearly dragged her into a bush. Torchic made it out safely being that it traveled close to his trainer's feet. The boy returned his Pokemon, fully aware of the rodents and smaller birds that Staraptor like to make their meals of. He spoke again, much quieter as to not alarm the bird, "As much as I would really love to battle this thing right now, I'm not sure if we're completely ready. Our Pokemon are much weaker. If you'd like we might be able to take it on two versus one, but it risks large injury for Torchic and Nyarumaa."

Verity smirked at Jaden's fierce blushing but sat up and laughed in a tinkling voice, remarking, "Thank you for saving me, Jaden. My hero," Verity was tough and did not need saving like a damsel in distress but something about the gentlemanly chivalrousness that Jaden had displayed in not hesitating to protect himself and her from imminent danger kept her from being angry. The girl turned to make sure Torchic and Nya were alright as well. Her Glameow purred and the Torchic was quickly returned to his Pokeball by Jaden. Verity followed suit and did the same with Nyaru. The Catty Pokemon was enveloped in a beam of red light and then slowly sucked back into the red and white capture sphere like draining a cup with a straw. Verity blinked and minimized the Pokeball, attaching it to the magnetic clip on her left earring like she'd planned all along. She smiled but knew it must look a bit awkward with only a single Pokeball attached to one side of her head, the other stud looking lame and useless in comparison. Oh well. The girl laughed at Jaden's suggestion to fight the Staraptor though and responded, "Are you kidding me? And get eaten by that enormous creature? No way, you couldn't pay me to fight it or let Nyarumaa get in harm's way so recklessly like that. I say we just find a way around it and hightail it out of here, maybe we'll have better luck somewhere else?" The girl went to sit up but felt something pressed against her skirt from in her purse and suddenly remembered: the Pokedex! Professor Elm had told her the precious piece of technology was highly expensive and valuable and it would be both to her advantage and his to scan every Pokemon she got near in her travels. Creeping closer to the bush's edge and peering up, she spotted the Staraptor and its babies nearby and pressed the scan button on her nifty piece of technology. The Pokedex whirred quietly and announced: "Staraptor, the Predator Pokemon. A red-tipped, black crest extends over its head, nearly reaching the tip of its beak. Staraptor is fussy about the shape of this comb, which it uses to appear larger and frighten enemies. It has large wings, five black-tipped tail feathers, and yellow feet with black talons. Its powerful wing and leg muscles allow it fly effortlessly while carrying a small Pokemon. Upon evolution, this Pokémon leaves its flock to live alone. It can be highly aggressive, persistently attacking even larger foes in spite of illness or injury." "Starly, the Starling Pokemon. Although capable of flapping its wings powerfully, Starly is weak and inconspicuous when alone. It forms large flocks to protect itself. However, individuals will begin to bicker if the group becomes too large. This Pokémon’s cry is harsh, and its singing can become annoying. Starly congregates in mountains and fields, where it hunts for bug Pokemon." Though Verity hardly listened to the dex entries, she figured she would find time to pay more attention to them later but for now, she was mostly concerned with leaving the area quickly. She was not one to get in the way of an overprotective mother and her helpless babies. As she and Jaden continued on the route, it became apparent that the town of Cherrygrove was much further than she had originally anticipated. Still determined, however, the purple haired girl pushed through, dragging her new friend along with her... Event?

Miles and Spesh A Wynaut was seen chuckling and laughing as it was being held by what appeared to be an enormous Swellow. The Swellow seemed annoyed that the Wynaut was infringing on its territory, but the Wynaut had put up a Destiny Bond which made it dangerous for the Swellow to let go of it. The Swellow crowed in fright, hoping that the trainers would be able to help it get out of this rather tight situation.

Sammiya: As her hand touched the scanner the loading symbol of a flopping magikarp appeared. Soon the claw descended and dropped the three pokeballs into the back of the monitor. After a few seconds the screen lit up with each pokemon one by one. First was a Chingling, second was a Taillow, and third was a Carbink. "Ah!" exclaimed the professor, "I have never seen someone get Carbink as a match before." He seemed pretty excited, "Even if you don't choose it just understand that means there is something special about you!" He smiled and patted the boy.
Kaiser: A man looked over at Kaiser rather angrily as he packed the rest of his things on his bicycle-trailer. "Hey stay away from my merchandise-" he started, but then stopped when he noticed that he was just letting his Goldeen swim. "Ahh I remember when I was a new trainer. Believe it or not but I received my Octillery here back when it was just a remoraid!" He smiled. The Octillery smiled too. The man took out 4 pokeballs and withdrew four of his Remoraid, with just one left in the pond. "You know most people avoid picking aquatic pokemon since they're so limited on land, but in the water they are nearly unstoppable. It's like trying to fight a slugma in a pool of lava!" He laughed and patted Kaiser's shoulder. "Would you like to battle your new Goldeen with my Remoraid, he pointed to the one he left out. It swam around and his Octillery (who must have been the father) kept a watchful eye on it. The octopus pokemon dropped into the water to wet its gills before climbing back out. He sat on the edge of the fountain behind his trainer.

Sasha waited impatiently as the trainers wrangled the Staraptor. It didn't seem like they'd yield any time soon, so she decided she might as well get a move on instead. The girl continued to wade through the tall grass, her Yanmega hovering over her like a watchful bug-shaped helicopter. The girl had already covered more ground than those that set off before her, because she had been running from different trees for cover in order to gain more distance. At last, she squinted in the distance to make out what appeared to be the clearing to Cherrygrove City. She wasn't sure if her eyes were deceiving her, but before this- she broke into a grateful run, happy to rest her legs like an actual human being but ended up tripping over something and falling flat on her face. "Oof!" she exclaimed, feeling the taste of mud roll off her tongue, "What was that?!"

Dracoon: Sadly Sasha's eyes were deceiving her- as Cherrygrove was at least a full day of walking away. That tended to happen to young travelers though. After getting up and examining herself she realized that she had tripped over a large root sticking out of the ground. It had snapped off after she tripped on it, but something about it seemed important. (Big Root)

Arata watched the loading screen, finding the flopping magikarp to be pretty adorable. The sight of the claw descending and pulling out the pokeballs made him curious on how the machine worked exactly, eyes brightening when he saw the chingling. He recalled his promise to the assistant, but he felt like one Psychic type couldn't hurt.
The Professor's voice broke into his thoughts, Arata surprised to hear that no one else had ever gotten a carbink before. He accepted the pat with bewilderment, not seeing how there was anything particularly special about him.
"Thank you, sir. I'm picking Chingling, but I'll be certain to keep a eye out for wild carbinks, too, if I'm lucky enough to see one." Arata smiled at Elm, wondering why carbinks were rarely matched up with people, if ever. He pressed the button to accept the chingling, eyes bright as he watched the wonderclaw deposit his new Pokemon's ball.

He sat on the edge of the fountain behind his trainer. Gale was taken back from the man's first reaction, but as soon as he noticed the boy's Goldeen, his mood changed, even sharing part of his life with the boy. Gale smiled, to think he'd meet another Water Type pokemon lover like him so soon, this journey had just started and it was gifting him with amazing surprises already! The boy heard carefully the man's proposition, he was just getting acquaintanced with his Goldeen, but there was no way he'd miss the chance of a battle! "Yes of course!" replied the boy excited. Goldeen looked at Gale with awe, she was not so sure about it, wat if the big Octillery in the back attacked her? "deen deen" the pokemon cried out in a worried tone. "don't worry Goldeen, I'm sure we can win this!" he claimed confidently, giving Goldeen some confidence in her trainer, but not enough to feel like she'd beat an angry Octillery.

Sammiya: "Well I can see that Sylvia already gave you a pokedex" He said to Arata before leading the boy into the entrance of the lab. He patted his head. "Good luck on your journey, and make sure you stop by the store and buy some pokeballs!" He smiled, "I used to give them out to new trainers but my funding was cut after I built the wonderclaw" He laughed nervously, as he remembered the email he received that notified him his spending exceeded his budget.
Kaiser: "Alright then, Octillery, return" He said, noticing how the Goldeen was nervous about his partner. "I'll make the first move!" Suddenly the man sprang to life with youth, as if he wasn't a middle aged man and he was another young trainer. Remoraid perked up, even though it was a baby it learned from its father how to battle. "Use Water Gun!" He commanded. The pokemon submerged itself completely and blasted a jet stream of water at the Goldeen. Having the attack under water made it much more powerful!

Jaden was taken aback by the sight. A rather ferocious bird with a death hold on a Wynaut actually hesitating to finish the job was something that is not normally seen. He whipped out his Pokedex, completely unaware of how to use it. After pressing a few random buttons, the lights across the top began flickering and the machine itself began beeping. Soon, it came up with a result for both. The trainer noted each of the different pieces of information on the Swellow and took quite an interest in it. "We have to KO them things," Jaden said, grabbing the Pokeball he had just returned Torchic too, "that bird is way too nice to pass up!"

Verity scanned both Pokemon with interest. Her Pokedex spat out a variety of information on both species. Truth be told, both seemed interesting but she was more than a little bit interested in the Wynaut. The Bright Pokemon seemed like an unassuming but formidable battler and he was kinda cute too! Nyarumaa purred but looked a bit annoyed.
Suddenly, Jaden jumped and began to talk in a quick, excitable manner. He seemed pumped and his energetic personality was cute and infectious but Verity knew that the boy was not being logical in his elated, battle-ready haste; she would need to be his voice of reason. And that was when she noticed it! The purple haired girl gasped and grabbed Jaden's arm before he could released Torchic into battle and stared at the boy with wide eyes. She pointed and her mouth was agape for a few seconds before she found her voice again. With a newfound glint in her fiery violet eyes, Verity smirked and whispered into Jaden's ear. "That's a Destiny Bond the Wynaut put up. We could battle them but you've forgotten that neither of us thought ahead to grab Pokeballs...yet. However, if we're clever, we might not need to faint them into submission to capture them!"
Verity's eyes glinted as she returned Nyaru to her Pokeball and proceeded forward toward the Swellow and the Wynaut in their rather precarious situation. She raised her hands to show she came in peace and brought no weapons or anything with her because she meant well. She jerked her head and gestured for Jaden to do the same. "Hello Swellow and Wynaut. You seem to be locked in a rather dangerous stalemate, huh? We," she gestured widely toward Jadena and herself, "would love to help you. But you see, with that Destiny Bond up, you're both a danger to each other, now aren't you? Rather than harming either one of you, how about we just help you mediate this issue? I think we might have a solution for the both of you that involves no one getting hurt." The girl smiled genuinely and she added quickly, "In fact, it might even entail getting stronger. Are you willing to hear us out?"

As soon as the Octillery was returned, Goldeen's eyes were filled with confidence, now there was nothing that could stop her from winning the battle. The man took th first turn and sent his Remoraid to use Water Gun against Goldeen. Gale smiled, he knew an attack like that wouldn't hurt Goldeen much since she was a Water Type as well. But he was proven wrong when the powered up Water Gun came from under the surface and managed to lift Goldeen in the air as it struck her.
Gale's confidence changed to surprise when he saw Goldeen in midair and letting out a cry of pain. As soon as the goldfish pokemon got back into water, her determination turned in anger as she prepared to attack "oh yeah? well, two can play that game!" Gale said to the man in an almost cocky tone "Golden use Water Gun!" the boy called. Goldeen stopped where she was as she turned to the boy confused, that was not a move she knew, why would he ask her to perform such a move? "goldeen~" the pokemon said to her trainer. Gale looked at her, why didn't she attacked? Maybe another move would do "ok then... Water Pulse!" theboy called. Goldeen sighed, that was yet another move she could not use, it seemed this boy had no idea about the moves she could use.
Gale stared at his pokemon confused, why wasn't she doing anything? He asked her to use Water Type moves, why didn't she used them? "Goldeen, why don't you attack?" the boy asked. Goldeen turned her back on the boy and resumed battle position, it was clear he had no idea about the moves she could use so it was better she showed them to him. The gold fish pokemon got underwater and as soon as she located the Remoraid foe she swam to it as fast as her long wavy fins allowed her to and with her horn she attempted to peck the pokemon from underwater, aiming to return the lifting favor Remoraid done to her.

Miles and Spesh The Swellow was frightened when the boy sent out his Torchic, flapping his wings in a powerful Gust to knock both trainers back. The Wynaut rattled in the breeze, still chuckling and unaware of what was happening. The Bright Pokémon knew that they were inexplicably linked and had no idea what both trainers had up their sleeve- not that he cared, he only wanted to not be Swellow's dinner. ----- Sasha picked up the Big Root, disgusted. "I...could probably sell this later," she complained, placing the dirty root in her bag, "Well? Is that Staraptor dead yet?" Mama shook her head, the Yanmega's compound eyes trained on several different areas at once and easily processing everything. Sasha made an angry noise, checking her supplies. She had the icky Pokèball from earlier by that timid Trainer, as well as the Potion that could serve her well later. Mama suddenly buzzed loudly- she had seen the Swellow and Wynaut along with the two trainers wrestling it. The girl recognized the duo as the one she passed while sneaking to New Bark, rubbing her hands together in glee. "Let them fight. I'll try to catch Swellow. Think you can do it?" Mama seemed mildly miffed due to her type weakness, before recalling that she had a move that'll do well against Swellow. Sasha squinted again, making out the faint glow of the Destiny Bond.
"This ought to be fun. Wynauts are the hardiest things. You could throw them into an incinerator and they'd hop out still laughing and without a scratch," she commented, "I'd like to see how they tackle this. If they knock out the Swellow, I can catch it- I have a Pokèball."

Despite Swellow and Sasha's assumptions, Verity and Jaden no longer had any intentions of battling or harming the wild Pokemon. At least, not if they cooperated, she supposed. They hadn't exactly thought far enough ahead for if they disagreed or turned down their offer, not yet anyway, but hopefully it needn't come to that. The girl was pushed down along with Jaden because the boy had spooked Swellow earlier but now the pair seemed at least a bit more interested in listening. Brushing herself off and making sure her skirt was low enough to feel comfortable stepping out in front of Jaden with her back turned to him, Verity raised her hands in a show of peacefulness again and continued, first making sure to apologize, "We're sorry to have spooked you, that was not our intention. Anyway, we mentioned having a proposition for you that will work out for all of us. We are," she gestured again to herself and Jaden, smiling, "Pokemon trainers and our goal is to train alongside Pokemon friends and grow stronger as a result. In order to do so, we must capture willing Pokemon and help them fulfill their potential by teaching them so we can all grow together in order to become more bonded and more powerful. We would like to propose capturing both of you. We can assure you, we are both well-meaning trainers who only want to help you out of this situation now and in the future by helping you train with us to become stronger. So if you would accompany us as far as New Bark Town, we can pick up a pair of Pokeballs and capture you. I know this might seem like a lot to suggest but you should consider that willingly submitting to capture is a noble thing to do, especially since it entails that you have given your permission and were allowed to make the decision rather than just forcibly being captured by any random stranger. You both also might do well to consider our suggestion because our option assures that neither of you will be harmed at all. If Wynaut does not back down, he'll get eaten and sure Swellow might faint but he could die and the Swellow wouldn't want to faint either. Obviously, in the wild, fainting can and often is pretty dangerous and leaves you lying out in the open and at the mercy of many potential dangers and unwilling captures and such...at least this way you can both have a choice? So what say you, will you at least travel with us back as far as New Bark and see if you are willing to be captured? Even if one of you is returned, your Destiny Bond should be broken by Wynaut's inability to concentrate on a recalled foe so you don't both have to allow yourselves to be captured but you might at least wish to entertain the notion for a short while and try to get to know us better and see if you trust or like us?" Verity had spoken for a long while but it was mostly in an attempt to cause the wild pair to like them and trust them, and to show that their plan was very well thought out. She crossed her fingers and hoped the Swellow and Wynaut would see sense and at least give her and Jaden a chance. She really wanted to catch the Bright Pokemon after all, for he would make a fantastic addition to her team of Pokemon friends, and she knew that Jaden was just as eager to capture the wild Swellow.
