Yumi gazed forward at the smog attacks dissappearance. That boy being able to stop the attack so easily might have shown that he had some experience. If he couldn't do that much, he wouldn't have been worth hanging around. His pokemon was strange too. The thing was so tiny and feeble looking, but could move things without touching them. But in the end, it looked like it wasn't too different than physical strength.
Yumi reacted, using the what she had learned. The second attack came at her torkoal at surprising speed, but she wasn't worried. "Torque, take the attack! Withdraw!" Her torkoal quickly stuffed it's legs into its shell, it's arms taking longer this time. It attempted to pull it's head in, but failed to do so in time. It didn't seem to matter though. Torkoal itself was about the same weight as its trainer. The force, that would have trouble toppling a person, could be endured by something of the same mass but lower to the ground. The wave of energy washed over torkoal, pushing his smoke away Luke a high wind. However the turtle pokemon was barely pushed even a few inches.
"Ain't gonna work on this one, dude." She scoffed a little. "Torque is too heavy for you to move it like that. Maybe if your pokemon got stronger or evolved." She laughed a bit. "Last exchange of attacks. . You look like a defensive trainer. So Let's see you take on this attack. Use ember, Torque." Torkoal got out of its shell and heated up. More smoke produced and torkoal fired off a few shots of fire embers in rapid succession.

Syrus watched as his attack was endured by the small pokemon. According to Yumi, her pokemon was really heavy. Syrus took out his pokedex to check. "177 pounds!" It was much heavier than his Ralts. It was no wonder its reaction was different than expected. It seemed as though he would have to go with a dfferent approach. It wasnt as if he had to get too serious. Neither pokemon had moved from their spot. but maybe that should change. Syrus was quick to notice the fire attack fro, the turtle. It was an ember attack, luckily one of the weakest fire type moves, but still harmful. He was gooing to switch the battle up a bit, even if Yumi wanted to end the battle soon.
"Grace! Dodge it!" Syrus's ralts took a step back, performing a similar vibrating action as with her battle with kricketot. It was similar to when a person waves their hands over their face and sees the hand's after image. Grace seemed to be splitting. Was it the same? Was ralts moving fast to do it? Was it psychic power? As these split second thoughts passed through his head, Grace split up into a separate afterimage. It was unclear which was the real one at first. Soon after, the embers struck and passed through the first Grace image, causing it to disappear. With his Pokedex still out, Syrus looked up his pokemon's new move. The device beeped as it scanned the area.
"Double Team: Creates illusionary copies of the user. The copies disorient the enemy, reducing its accuracy."
"So it was from psychic power." Syrus said to himself. "BUt the pokedex says that she should be able to make more than one of them. At least a dozen." Grace turned and looked a little dissapointed. "No no! I didnt mean that Grace. Not like that. I am sure that you can make more through training!" With that, she smiled back, and Syrus went back to Yumi. "This is our last scuffle as you said. If this is for you to get to know us better, then see a move that we have been working on together. " Syrus pointed to a nearby stone and his ralts got serious. "Grace, confusion!" What seemed like the same old attack proved surprising as it focused on the large stones around them. "Since you are so tough, we are sure you can take this attack, right?" The stones around Grace were enveloped in the same light as her eyes. Seven stones were picked up and floated around the small pokemon. "If the confusion attack wasnt enough to phase your Torque, then how about this?" With that, the stones went flying towards the torkoal.

Yumi's disapointment at her attack missing went away quickly after seeing what appeared to be a move that the boy wasnt aware of. "Would you look at that. It looks like ya pokemon learned a new move." She was a little envious of that fact, though she hadnt been training lately anyway. She looked at her own torkoal, who hadnt yet mastered withdraw, something she assumed would come naturally. Torkoal looked up after its attack, waiting for a response for the oncoming confusion attack. She didnt have time to congratulate him, so she instead went on to continue. "Torque, burn down those stone. Turn them to ash!" Torkoal's body heated up, creating a glow and a good amount of smoke to come from its shell. Torkoal shot out numerous balls of fire, slightly larger than before, precisely at each stone, hitting them. But to no avail. The stones hurling at Torkoal did not change trajectory, they simply caught fire. Each strike hit Torques shell with an audible bang. Torque's body was briefly engulfed in its own flames. It was clear that the attack had failed.
"haha looks like that's it." Torkoal walked over to Yumi's side. "AS you can see, We attack head on. Looks like you look for different ways to attack. I bet your personality is just like that. haha." Yumi walked over to the boy. "We should battle again sometime." She looked onward to the next city. "C'mon, let's go"
Event? maybe double?

The guy's expression changed into a determined grin. He tossed his hat into the air after unclipping one of his six Pokeballs. It landed squarely on his head. "Alright mate, hope you're ready for a bruiser!" His voice was low now, almost taking pleasure in the prospects of a potential challenge. He clicked the center of the Pokeball which quickly grew into its unlocked state and, gripping it like a fast ball, pitched it directly at his opponent. The ball stopped about 2 feet from her face before opening in a brilliant white light. He was trying to intimidate her.
A somewhat befitting Pokemon appeared after the light coalesced into a much smaller form. A Starly ruffled its feathers and spread its wings to stretch. "Quick Attack," the command was barely audible. This trainer was playing a bit dirty. He kept his voice low so that the opponent couldn't hear what he was instructing which in turn made it more difficult for her to respond. The Starling Pokemon seemed to distort as it burst from its standing point directly towards the trainer. She hadn't even chosen who she was going to send out and so it was very likely she'd make a mistake in the panic. After all, the Starly was only 2 feet away when it appeared.

This seemed rather sudden, and he was interested. "A vitamin? Those are expensive, arent they?" He said to no one in particular. COncerned, he turned to his travel partner. "What do you think?"

With the man ready to battle, Yoori took a step back as he tossed a ball at high speeds to reveal his first Pokémon. Scraggy immediately leapt forth, eager to please his owner and not realising how much of a disadvantage he was in. Yoori noticed the Starly seem to disappear before reappearing quickly, and Scraggy lifted his skin pants to cushion the Quick Attack as much as possible. "Hm," she contemplated, watching as Scraggy skidded slightly from his position before falling on his butt from the fast move.
Scraggy glared at the bird, as if to complain what it had done to him, before digging in his heels into the grass in a defensive position with his head lowered. He turned to Yoori, as if looking for advice, but the girl was busy fumbling with her Pokédex to remember exactly what offensive moves she had on her own Pokémon- since Low Kick couldn't quite hit the Starly, Yoori wagered she was pretty much screwed on that front. "Just...distract it!" she shouted hesitantly, and Scraggy, unaware he had no way of defeating the Starly just yet, nodded sharply before focusing his glare at the Starly, narrowing his eyes as they glowered in a Leer to intimidate it.
Yoori looked down at Aron, who was busy nibbling at the metal part of her shoe and wondered if she could at least safely switch Scraggy out- it wasn't dirty if he threw the first punch, was it? "C'mon," she whispered under her breath, watching the stalemate.

Yumi started to cough from the pollen and dust in the air. "It doesnt sound all that bad to me" She said before she began coughing again. " I did somfin like that earlier today with a bunch of asshole wingull." She looked proudly at her Torque. "We handled it. Yumi looked at her device. It gave the same message. "So I guess looking for another pokemon is gonna have to wait then, right" She scoffed. "you go t lucky, cause I was gonna catch the biggest, baddest pokemon. haha" She was just joking of course, but if they had encountered a large pokemon, she would have been all over it.
"So what do we do? Where do we go?" She looked around. Nothing seemed to be around. "Do we...just hit "accept"? She went to her Holo Caster and pressed accept. "You do it too, alright?" Yumi directed at Manta. She didnt like telling people she just met what to do...but she also kind of loved telling people in general what to do. With a flick of her finger, Yumi accepted whatever challenge was coming. "We got this, alright? Beauty and the Beast!" She said proudly, reffering to herself as the beast.
Holo Caster Challenge?

speshal The boy wandered off in the direction of the next town but seemed to have chosen the road less traveled sticking to the forest rather than the beaten path. The forest itself seemed pristine. The untouched wilderness settled like a comforting thicket around the path on which everyone was traveling. Berries were ripe for the picking and the sounds of Pokemon of every kind emanated in hollowed echoes. However, there was something out of place, something that didn't belong here. It started as an annoyance, a faint tickle in the back of one's throat, that kind that made you cough every once in a while. With a gust of wind, a steeping scent burned through the atmosphere before it became nauseating. Long before the thing wandered out onto the path, its smell permeated the air, cutting through the freshness like a foul knife. As it walked, its body made a sloshing sound mixed with... cans? It was strange for sure. Out of the right side of the path, a Trubbish waddled out. A sentient series of coalesced waste, it was scavenging the trail for discarded material. Paper wrappers, plastic bottles, anything really that it could find it was eating. Sure it probably kept the roads clean but it wasn't a Pokemon typically out here in the wilderness. They were more seen in busy cities among the landfills and trash filled alley ways. It hadn't particularly noticed the trainer but it didn't really care either. Its stench kept most things far away enough to not be considered a threat. If anyone passed by, it would simply walk around the other side of the path until they passed. Val let out a triumphant chuckle when the boy finally disappeared from her vision. Lapras let its head down, coming eye to eye with its trainer. It had a sort of soothing effect on the girl. She shook it off with a few blinks and quick shake, returning the Pokemon to its ball in an explosion of red light. Still, she couldn't shake the uneasy feeling she had. It was slowly transforming from a calm, tranquil state of mind to a deeply disturbed and annoyed one. Her nose twitched, followed by the complete wrinkling of her face. "What the hell?" she exclaimed, bringing her hand to her nose and mouth. It wasn't just the putrid smell she had to shield herself from, but also the potential of the taste of that air on her tongue. It was foul in every sense of the word. Val first lifted each of her arms, checking to see if there was any possible way it could be coming from her. She rustled through her bag to no avail. It had to be around her. After a few full circles, she spotted the culprit. An animated trash bag seemed to be off the side of the road. Val removed her hand from her mouth to speak, only resulting in her gagging and replacing it quickly. She spoke in an elevated but muffled tone, "Seriously, what the hell? What is that thing? What are you? How is it possible that something so tiny can create a nuclear meltdown in my god damn nose?"

Surprised he stood still trying to shut it down by placing his hand over the device but it was futile as an automated voice explained the current situation, he had reached a Battel Node. Not having any idea what a Battle Node was, Conor heard the explanation from the device, it seemed a wide variety of things could happen if he just pushed that Accept button, but he had to consider them all. A battle was just a battle he didn't mind that, but a Horde, that was something new and exiting even if he had no idea how those worked, Obstacle Course and Race sound very self explanatory and just as interesting to him. From all the options the one that confused him the most was the Horde but thinking there was no better way to learn than experiencing, Conor pushed the "Accept" button and hoped for a Horde event to happen, although he was concerned he would find a pokemon he liked and wouldn't be able to catch it for them being League registered, but he wanted to try it nevertheless.

Yuki and Manta
The HaloCaster's main like began beeping directly after the accept was made. At first it was only a few once every few seconds, but there was a noticable difference as the two began to walk forward. The beeps were getting faster. Like a heartbeat during a stressful moment, the beeping chirped faster and faster. It was more than just the steps this time, the beeping was getting irregularly quick. Clearly the haloCaster was responding in a beacon fashion, but it appeared that the destination point was moving towards them. After just a few more moments, two pokemon came out from the nearby brush. Each had a small child's backpack with them and a band around their arms with similar light as the Halocasters held by the two trainers. A short pokemon with thin limbs, sharp claws and what looked like a feather protruding from its head was one of them. The other was a small round pokemon with a tough hide and sharp claws. It seemed odd that they would be travelling together, and even moreso that they had the human equipment.
The pokemon looked around as if they were also looking for the source of the beeps. It was then that their eyes met. The two pokemon took their backpacks off and assumed fighting poses. Neither one seemed aggravated or anything. In fact, they seemed trained specifically for this type of encounter. These were for sure the pokemon that were to be expected to battle. Sneasel looked intensely at Yumi, and sandshrew, the same towards Manta. It was a double battle, but clearly a focus was being made on who would fight who.

A frustratingly rapid beeping sound show out from the HaloCaster moments after the accept was made. The beeping sped up considerable with each step forward, like some sort of sonar or tracking system. After only about 30 seconds, an odd clanging sound could be heard. It was almost like a jingling. It wasnt long before the source was introduced. Five floating pokemon came forth from the horizon, each were small and harmless looking with what looked like keys dangling from their ring like arms. In addition, a slam device was attached to what looked like the leader, clearly the device that was synced up with the young trainer's Halocaster. one of the pokemon in the back was holding a largebag, and quickly set it down in preparation for battle.

Starly returned to its high flying position after recovering from its quick attack, only to look up and be shocked by the leer attack that was being shot its way. Starly took a few flaps of its wings to back up a bit. It was momentarily fearful of the small pokemon.
"That's quite somfin you 'ave there." Bronnie chuckled. "Butcha ain't gonna ruffle our feathers with just that alone, will ya?" Starly shook its head to try to rid the glaring image from its mind. "C'mon, love, give us a good scuffle. Starly, wing attack, will ya?" The small high flyer flapped its wings vigorously to gain altitude, before stopping suddenly. The gravity assisted starly in its descent as it glided down to deliver a punishing blow.

"I guess we just have to wing it, then," Yoori sighed, not even realising the pun she had made as Scraggy jumped back up to his feet, "Scraggy, come back!" The lizard gave pause, turning to the girl with a hurt expression and a 'Scrag?' of confusion before he saw the Starly begin to tunnel down from above. Scraggy's hesitation meant that Yoori had no time to recall him and send Aron out, so she had no choice but to roll with the punches as she had just stated earlier. Her own craftiness had just backfired on her, she mused in visible despair, almost disbelieving that she would lose her very first trainer battle after stepping back into civilisation.
"Just...take cover or something!" she shouted at last, and Scraggy steeled himself with a grin that spread across the tiny lizard's already-quite-wide mouth. "Scraggy!" Yoori's shouts were increasingly frantic as the Starly gained momentum, but a few moments before Starly would strike, Scraggy calmly stepped aside- it was a feint to make Starly strike the ground and deal massive damage to itself. The lizard was playing it strategically, since his opponent was airborne: the Starly would need time to recover, and then he would be able to exploit this for a few Low Kicks.

Yumi got irritated by the beeping of the hollowcaster. She couldnt help but think that there was a less annoying way to find the opposing pokemon. Two pokemon came out of the brush, a Sandshrew, and a sneasel. Both pokemon would be excellent for her team, but the message did say that they were league pokemon. At the same time, she was a little dissapointed. Neither pokemon looked particularly tough. It wasnt as if they didnt look well trained, but her Torque was like a rock, so she wouldnt have to worry about physical attacks. Maybe she was getting too confident, but this was a challenge after all.
Torque already made his way to the front. "OI, Sai, Looks like I got that sneasel, you take the sandshrew. I bet you got this" Yumi smiled a and readied herself. If she was gonna prove she was the best, she would have to prove herself to the league early. "Torque, start with smog!" Her fire turtle spewed out a deep purple fog too thick to see through. The cloud of poisoinous smoke traveled creepily towards the two pokemon.

Special move(s): Rain Dance Conor looked in awe as the five pokemon appeared, this was indeed a Horde. Luckily for him they seemed like Steel Type pokemon, which he hoped would work in his favor since his Fennekin was a Fire Type and would, at least in his mind, get the upper hand against Steel Types, hopefully. Conor looked around waiting for more of the key holding pokemon to appear but they didn't, these five were his opponents and on the back he could see one dropped something, maybe a prize of some sort if they won? He had to fight to figure it out "alright! Stuky I feel we should give Fennekin a chance to prove itself so, let her get this battle!" the boy said excited, Stuky wasn't as happy and sat next to him with an almost dissappointed look on his face. Conor turned to Fennekin "ok then, let's see if we can beat them all!" he said pointing at the Horde. Fennekin stared at him for a momment before stepping in for battle, she wanted to show she wasn't following his orders but doing it because she wanted. Conor looked confused before deciding to do something "should I look in the Dex what pokemon are those?" he thought to himself before Fennekin moved on her own, attacking the Horde with Fire Pldge, throwing fire pillars into their direction aiming to hit them all at once.

Syrus' machine began to beep with vigor as they searched for thei challenge. It was similar to a game in a way. Like sonar. They looked up and down various hills, eventually finding a couple pokemon coming out of the bushes on the side of the route. One was small and round. It had a tough and dry looking shell, while the other was a thin pokemon with sharp claws. Sai had recognized the second one as a sneasel, a pokemon that he had admired for its speed. He was a little fuzzy on the other. It was a sandshrew, or maybe a sandslash? The names were similar and he had only read about them in books at the pokemon academy. Sai steped forward with timidity. He was unsure how league pokemon would battle. IT was said that they had strength inhibitors, but he had just begun his journey. Was he ready. He looked over at Yumi who was full of confidence, quite the opposite of him. She seemed determined to mak this double battle into a one on one battle. "Umm...Yumi...I think we should battle together. If we dont work together, we might not win." She may not have heard him though, because as he was finishing his sentence, she had already started the first attack. "Oh boy." He said, not wanting to fall behind. "Grace, growl!" Sai's ralts took in a deep breath, making hand motions as if she were pushing air into her mouth, expelling it in a mighty and air distorting shout. THe sound waves caused the air to shimmer as it pushed toward the two pokemon. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dracoon Upon hearing that his opponent, wasnt giving an attack move, the man sighed. "Don't worry, love, everyone has trouble every now and again." A small grin could be seen on his face from that distance. He was getting a little...overconfident. Starly sped up, seeing the oppurtunity.BUt just as the girl had planned, the minor change in position at the last moment caught starly off guard. The tip of its wing, that was meant to strike scraggy's left side, instead barely touched the ground. Dispite the miniscule contact, the speed of the pokemon maximized the potential damage, bending the wing in a painful way and skewing the feathers. "What's this?!" Bronnie shockingly shouted. He had so much confidence in his pokemon's agility and ability to change on a dime. What had happened. Looking up, he moticed his starly attempting to recover. It had flown back into the air, but with a bruised wing, and feathers out of place, starly was forced to lower itself to only a few feet from the ground. "Can't fly as high now, eh starly?" He looked a more dissapointed than anything. The foreign trainer had a plan though. "Oi, girl" His smile returned. "I got something left for you." His starly looked up at the sky, turning and flapping its wings into the air. "I got this lovely item from a lady in Canalave city, real looker. I taught it to starly for a combination we came up with, but if you win, you can have it." As he was talking, starly's wings had produced a red wind that was collecting 20 feet above. IT slowly but surely formed into a reddish sphere that looked remarkably like a mini sun. It was bright and heat could be felt from it. "Sunny Day." Bronnie seemed to be getting excited. "And now, once more, wing attack!" Starly struggled to gather strength. She would need to fly up once more. Starly pumped its little wings to fly high, directly between the fabricated sun and her opponent. Using gravity to help, she dove down to strike. At that distance, both the trainer and the pokemon would have trouble seeing starly with the sun behind her. the plan was to strike while they were vulnerable and looking away. This had worked before, so Bronnie was confident that it would work on a new trainer. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Kaiser Each klefki worked in unison, showing proper training. Each spread out in separate directions to avoid the fire. Unfortunately, the quick movements had caught one of them. The fire, though from an untrained source, was more than effective to the metal fairies. The klefki fell to the ground, its keys jingling lightly. The struck klefki actually didnt seem so bad. It seemed to be continuingly looking up to see how the battle was going. Perhaps it had been instructed to stop if it had taken a certain amount of damage. THe remaining four klefki loked at each other and nodded. Two klefki gathered their strenght and formed a blue orb of energy, shooting it high into the air. Clouds formed around the area in a small cluster. Bits of water soon came down almost instantly. The rain was getting heavier as the seconds went by until a few puddles began to form. THe last tow kklefly turned to the fenniken, spinning their bodies and producing a pink wind. Thepink gusts shot forward together combining into one. To top it off, the drops of water from the air aided the strike by including a weakness for the small fire pokemon. These four were playing seriously, and seemed to have the knowledge to weaken fire attacks as well. They were certainly living up to their trainer's names. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yuki/Manta AS the smog came forward, a hesitant sneasel took a few steps back. The sandshrew came forward to defend, hopping in front. Sandshrew tucked itself into a ball and began to spin, sucking the smog around it. Without access to its face or nose, the smog simply swirled around the pokemon, away from its partner before dissipating. Sandshrew continued towards the toroal before a mighty burst of sound shot forward, disturbing its attack. Sandshrew unraveled to close its ears. This time, sneasel stepped forward to defend its partner. Thier attacks were coordinated and they were working together. Sneasel brought up a claw and taunted the torkoal. Sneasel spanked its behind and mockingly chuckled at the opposing pokemon in an obvious attempt to get under its skin. It was trying to become the center of attention. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Speshal The small pokemon looked a bit concernced with her words, tearing up a bit at what it could only assume was an insult. The small pokemon was starting to cry, holding back its tears as best it could. Among all that effort, it belched up a bit, producing a slow moving purple has. The strange collection of particles was undoubtedly dangerous and disgusting, based on its source. What was not obvious was that it was a poison gas attack. Inhalation of even bare contact would poison just about any opponent. Not even realizing what it had done, trubbish began to cry.

When the Starly crashed, Yoori let out a visible cringe. Thanks, Scraggy, she thought to the tiny lizard, and Scraggy spread his feet while lowering his head in a defensive motion. As the Starly created the giant, glowing sphere, Yoori knew this move to be Sunny Day- a common move amongst Grass and Fire-type specialists who wanted to either charge up powerful moves quickly or allow their Pokémon to move faster for the first strike. The sun's glare meant that Yoori had to shield her eyes, and Scraggy cringed as he let go of his skin pants to cover his giant eyes as well. It was interesting that the glare of the sun also meant that Starly had cast a very large shadow, but it did not make it easier to work against the glare of the sun.
"Scraggy! You know what...just look down on the ground," instructed Yoori suddenly, and Scraggy turned while still painfully covering his eyes. The tiny lizard gave a look of 'are you seriously not allowing me to attack', but knew that he would miss in the harsh sunlight anyway and looked down. It was a relief to have the sun bearing down on his back instead of burning his retinas, and Scraggy quickly picked up his skin pants for a slight boost of Defense. The tiny lizard noticed the shadow grow larger and larger as the Starly closed in, before at last Scraggy tried to kick the small bird out of the way with a Low Kick technique but applied differently. If he missed, it could cause a lot of damage to himself, but obviously this wasn't in his consideration as he did so.
