Lennox had to cover his nose once again. As the skuntank had dodged the pink gust attack and had begun to charge again to strike. It covered itself in a disgusting smelling smokescreen. If lennox didn't see the charge up attack, he may have assumed that the pokemon was fleeing. That might have been preferred. but he knew the skunk pokemon was hiding somewhere ready to strike. "If this stinky black cloud is in the way, i see no reason that it can't be removed" Lennox said aloud. "Once more please, fairy wind". Klefki performed another rotation. A pink sparkling wind picked up, carrying a few leaves and dried debris with it in an attempt to remove the airborne smokescreen.

Devon The Ember fried the Sitrus Berry in Pachirisu's paws, and the Pachirisu continued to stand erect- Bide took a few turns to unleash and Pachirisu was unable to move or flee during the charge up. The squirrel's eyes snapped open however, revealing sheer terror of the Magby as she began to shiver in confusion and fear of her life. ---- Savi Sandile opened his huge mouth, taking a large bite off the food. He licked his lips, starting to jump around at the taste. It was nothing he had tasted before, and the Sandile looked up pleadingly at Savi as if willing Savi to give him more of it. The Sandile had only some grubs and perhaps a lucky chunk of berry that was dropped from some trees, and the mostly-carnivorous diet of the small sand crocodile meant that the beef sat perfectly with him. Wagging his tail enthusiastically, Sandile appeared to be an excited scaly puppy as he rolled over, trying to endear himself to get more food. ----- ND A small egg-shaped Pokémon fell onto ND's head, wiggling over to reveal a loud, bawling Togepi. In hot pursuit was a strange green bird that appeared strong, and the Xatu perched in a tree while glaring at the Togepi. Togepi cried loudly as he covered his face, while Xatu crowed enigmatically and glared at ND as if to will the child to return his prey to him.
Togepi, level 5 Xatu, level 25 ---- Shu watched the Turtwig charge at him, the Mienfoo clearly outspeeding the slower turtle. Calmly, the Mienfoo jumped over the Turtwig's head and jumped over Rory as if the Turtwig had been little more than a balance beam to him. Yoonhee gestured to Shu again- tip him over and Shu grudgingly obliged. With a sweep of his feet, the Mienfoo attempted to flip the Turtwig to reveal the vulnerable underside and allow him to Pound without any repercussion. Tensing, the Mienfoo readied another fist in case the Turtwig was struck. Yoonhee was too busy chewing her fingernails- it was unexpected for her to be engaged in something like this so early in her journey. What if things happened and she couldn't win? What if Shu was actually less agile than he appeared?

Rory skidded to a halt as Shu leaped over him and then punched fiercely to knock him over. Tumbling backward, the Turtwig landed on his back, then his front, then his back, then his front again, then his back finally. His earthy shell had left dirt smeared across the pavement. The Tiny Leaf Pokemon scrambled and wiggled his legs futilely, hoping to right himself. It would take more effort than he had time to waste right now though, he needed to act fast before Shu advanced any closer to attack!
"Use Withdraw, Rory! I believe in ye still, ye're not banjaxed yet, ye're not an' ye can still belt dem gobdaws 'til tey're bloody knackered! Jus' keep milling and be wide!" The Turtwig somehow made sense of this statement, though it was likely that most of the others had not been able to comprehend it entirely, and quickly tucked in his large head and stubby, legs as best he could into his shell. His shell was just enough to cover his back, it was not one that full surrounded his body like on some turtle species but curling up in a defensive, muscle-tensing manner and trying his best to keep protected by his bulky shell would hopefull be a good enough tactic for the currently optionless and otherwise helpless Turtwig. ---- Lennox
The pink winds fanned away some of the SmokeScreen but the rest still remained. It eventually spread further to recover the remaining empty space cut into it by the attack and the whole cloud became minimally lighter as it spread. The darkness still covered most of the field and the weak Fairy Winds were doing little to stop it. From within the smoggy haze, the wild Skuntank prowled nearby and purred loudly, taunting the Klefki and its trainer, taunting them to follow the wild Pokemon into the darkness and try to fight from within.

The Turtwig had withdrawn into his shell, but his stomach continued to remain exposed to the world. Shu jumped, skillfully landing a Pound on the Turtwig's stomach before acrobatically doing a double flip and perching atop the Turtwig as if proudly claiming the territory as his own. The Mienfoo continued to stand on Rory, examining his paws smugly while casting a condescending glare at Yoonhee. Yoonhee looked around, confused before realizing that her own Pokémon was mocking her and not just the Turtwig. "Listen here, you, like, little shit," she stated, her face flushing in anger as she waggled a finger at Shu, "I'm the human here, and like, you only landed like 1 hit with your like, foolproof strategy, which like, by the way, was like, my thing- so you'd better like, wipe that smug smirk off your, like, whiskery face, before that turtle rolls over and like, crushes you." The girl was obviously not in good control of neither her emotions or her Pokémon, and Shu did little to help.

Klefki got frustrated from its attack missing. It was hard to tell, but its tiny face showed a scowl and it jingled its keys in anger. The smokescreen prevented either of them from seeing the other pokemon. It didn't seem like it was coming out. It was most likely a ploy to trap them. With what looked like overwhelming power, it would be foolish to charge in with a physical attack. It was in Lennox's nature to strike from a safe distance. As he contemplated a different strategy, an angered klefki charged into the smokescreen for a tackle attack. Lennox couldn't get a word in to stop him in time.

DevonThe Ember fried the Sitrus Berry in Pachirisu's paws, and the Pachirisu continued to stand erect- Bide took a few turns to unleash and Pachirisu was unable to move or flee during the charge up. The squirrel's eyes snapped open however, revealing sheer terror of the Magby as she began to shiver in confusion and fear of her life. Devon smiled as he saw Magby's attack being succesful, though it didn't took him long to realize the attack had completely charred the berry the Pachirisu was carrying, and what seemed worst, the pokemon was shaking in fear. Devon sighed, he knew that at this rate, and due to the Bide, this Pachirisu would not be able to move and most likely it would end up defeated which was not bad, he wanted to win this battle, but he didn't wanted to cause the Pachirisu a stroke right there. The boy took his pokedex and red Bide's description again to realize he was right, Pachirisu would not move until it released the energy stored, but in this case, if Magby used another Ember, Pachirisu was likely to get severly burnt and that was not his goal. The boy hesitated for a momment, he could not just quit the fight and leave the Pachirisu like that, it would be an easy target to any other pokemon who'd like to have some fresh squirrel for dinner, but he couldn't attack it again, for the looks of the electric pokemon, it would not be able to sustain another Ember attack. There was no choice, he'd have to finish the battle but without hurting the Pachirisu much more "ok Magby, another Ember would leave that Pachirisu badly hurt, so let's try for another Smog, but keep your distance, we don't want it to release its Bide and hurt you too as well" the boy explained. Magby nodded, he too could teel how scared the Pachirisu was, and he wouldn't have used another Ember either way, not even if Devon asked him to. Magby took a deep breath and slowly began releasing the cloud of purple~ish smoke around the Pachirisu, it owuld hurt yes, but not as much as an Ember attack, so it would hopefully be enough to defeat the pachirisu without leaving it defenseless in the wild.

Wagging his tail enthusiastically, Sandile appeared to be an excited scaly puppy as he rolled over, trying to endear himself to get more food. Had Bronzor been anything but a floating metal disc, it would've scoffed at the Sandile as it somehow consumed its empanada half. Was Savi genuinely suckered in by the young Pokémon's behavior, or were they just pretending to play along so Bronzor could sneak in a surprise attack later on? That was what they wanted Bronzor to do, right? Trainers and their Pokémon fought alongside each other in battles to capture more Pokémon. But Bronzor sensed no ulterior motive from Savi. They seemed to genuinely enjoy petting and feeding the Sandile, as evidenced by the chunks of food Savi was now dropping into the Sandile's mouth. No wonder the young creature was so delighted: he must've never tasted anything quite like this before. (Though even for Bronzor, human food was a treat.) Then Savi tilted their head and looked around, their nose wrinkled slightly. "It smells like Skuntank," they said, though the words meant little to Bronzor. Regardless, it sensed that smelling like Skuntank was not a good thing - and watching Savi stand up without feeding the Sandile the rest of the empanada in their hand, apparently it was something bad enough to merit interrupting feeding time. "Come on, let's move a little further down," Savi told the two Pokémon. As if to emphasize the point to the Sandile, Savi walked several steps away before turning back and holding out a piece of food to him.

Devon The Smog was enough to scare the Pachirisu off, who could only release some small sparks. The stench of the Smog, coupled with an overwhelming sense of dread from a stronger Pokémon was enough to send the small squirrel scurrying back into the forest and leaving her berry behind. Devon could almost sense he was being watched- and the air around him seemed to descend into a chill as a wispy figure appeared before him. A Froslass! The elegant creature glared at Devon and his Magby, disgruntled at the way they had treated the Pachirisu and assuming he had been the result of the stench that spread through the forest. The Froslass raised a paw, directing several Ice Shards straight at the Magby. If there was one thing she could not tolerate, it was bullying a weaker Pokémon.
Froslass, level 12 ----- Savi Sandile seemed reluctant to leave his spot when Savi got up to leave. Watching the human take a few steps before waving the food at him, Sandile tilted his head and stared for a few moments before the stench hit him. The sensory inputs of the baby were in overload, and he ran in circles around the human's feet. Sandile tugged at the human's shoes, trying to herd them and their Bronzor to safety elsewhere. The Sandile knew that the stench meant a strong Pokémon was loose and the human had helped him, so he badly wanted to direct the human to safety first before rewarding himself with food. The Sandile soon grew tired, panting heavily as he stared back up pleadingly at the human to follow him.

Both Devon and Magby watched as the Pachirisu left. They had won the battle, not that any of them felt ok with scarying the Pachirisu almost to the point of death, but at least it would be safer now that it left. Devon was about to call back Magby to leave the place when he felt the sudden drop in temperature, if he wasn't wearing his sweater/jacket he'd be shivering by now. The trainer looked to the sky, trying to see if there was a storm cloud nearby that caused the drop in temperature but found none, though he could hear a weird noise coming from behind them and as he turned aorund he could see the disturbing figure of a ghost. Devon was startled at first, not knowing what to do, but as soon as he saw the ghost raise its hand and release ice shards against his Magby he realised it was a pokemon as well.
"Magby move out!" the trainer called, but it was too late, the Ice shards had gotten to him and hurt the small Fire Type, though thanks to Magby's excesively high body temperature they didn't damaged him as much as Devon thought. Magby shook his head, that this hurt, maybe not killer damage but it did hurt. The pokemon turned to his trainer, his face no longer showing hesitation but instead determination to fight this pokemon. Devon nodded acknowledging his pokemon's wish, the trainer backed off to give Magby space to battle the pokemon and used his pokedex which he still had in his hand to see what pokemon that was. "Froslass, the Snow Land Pokemon. It freezes foes with an icy breath nearly -60 degrees Fahrenheit. What seems to be its body is actually hollow." the machine read. Reading the description a bit more Devon realised it was a dual Ica and Ghost Type pokemon, a really odd but usefull combination, and it also meant it was weak against Fire Type moves. The boy smiled and turned to Magby "ok Magby, don't hold back this time, use Ember!" the trainer called. Magby nodded and just as he did before, he took a deep breath before releasing a big flame surrounding the Froslass body(?), hoping this would be enough to hurt it enough to defeat it.

Riley quickly grew impatient. He stared at the woods and wondered what could lie beyond. There was so much to see and so little time to do it. Pepper let out a small chirp signalling her own impatience. It actually hadn't been long at all. The two were just so determined to find what was out there that it seemed like it was ages. Right as they began to turn around and head into the Route Palia and Ellie arrived. Riley said a small hello and continued on down the path. He wasn't saying much but it was mostly due to the environment. There was so much more to pay attention too. The boy came to a stop when his Starly let out a bit more of a disturbed chirp. The group definitely wasn't alone anymore.

Devon Unlike the Pachirisu, the Froslass was no sitting duck. The Froslass easily dodged the stream of flames from the Magby, her eyes glowing intimidatingly in a Leer before conjuring several more Ice Shards to cast at the Magby. As the shards flew at the small fire duck, the Froslass continued to hover malevolently over the boy and his Magby. Those who used excessive force had to be punished, and Froslass assumed that once the boy was defeated, the stench would clear itself. Folding her paws, Froslass only watched the feeble attempts of the Magby with an air of malicious amusement. It would take a while for Devon to get past the Froslass, if he did want to continue the battle with his Magby. ---- Riley and Palia A Munchlax was seen with a Joltik on his ear. The duo seemed friendly to the Trainers, and Munchlax lit up seeing the duo approach. Food was on the Munchlax's mind as he ran on his stubby legs, trying clumsily to steal Riley's satchel while opening a flap for Joltik to climb in and siphon electronics. It was obvious the two Pokemon were in cahoots, and Munchlax nearly stumbled as he ran at the duo.

Savi seemed to agree: there was a split second where they frowned and almost kneeled down again, uncertain of what was happening, but then the light (partly) went on. They didn't know exactly why, but they knew Sandile desperately wanted them to follow him. So follow they did, checking to make sure Bronzor was behind them and tossing more empanada bits to the Sandile as he herded them.

The sudden attack of the Trapinch had caught Madeline off guard, but she had a rather good idea of what to do. This wasn't her first time working together with a pokemon! Back when she was helping at the pokemon center she made a great team with a Chansey, and she decided then that battling is all about trust! IF she trusts her Larvesta then it will listen to her when she commands it.
"Use String Shot!" She commanded and held out her arm. This thing was a worm so there was a 99% chance it could spit silk! The Larvesta understood, and in a panic it spit out a stream of silk towards Madeline, but her struggle made it hard to aim. "I got you Vee!" She shouted, jumping to the side to grab hold of the string as it hardened into a strong cable. Madeline gave it a powerful yank hoping to rip both pokemon out of the pit!
The girl in boots was starting to look like a rather good ally for the Larvesta.

Savi The Sandile led the human deeper into the forest, where there was a small pit of sand in a clearing. Sandile turned to Savi, indicating that it was safe before swallowing the small chunks he had accumulated over the span of his traveling. A lone Venomoth had appeared, flapping her wings and sending harmless dust everywhere as she hovered before Sandile. Sandile told Venomoth what he had smelt, and the large, intimidating moth nodded while casting a dubious look at Savi and their Bronzor. At last, Venomoth flew away to warn the rest of the forest about the Skuntank stench, and Sandile turned to Savi and Bronzor with a mixed look of sadness and longing. They were now at the end of Sandile's house- if Savi continued moving, it would take a day to reach the next town and Sandile was too terrified of the smell to move further. ---- Madeline Trapinch held fast for a few moments, but silk was tougher than any material and soon the terrified Ant Pit Pokémon was sailing in the air and landed squarely in front of her Larvesta prey and the girl in boots. Trapinch shook herself off the disgusting silk, releasing the Larvesta and snapping her jaws threateningly. If today was not the day that she would feast, she would not rest until the Larvesta was defeated. The Trapinch broke out in a run at Larvesta, her jaws wide open in a Bite attack.

It would take a while for Devon to get past the Froslass, if he did want to continue the battle with his Magby. Magby covered his face in an attemtp to protect himself from the Ice Shards, yeah maybe they were not so effective against him due to the type advantage he possesed, but they still hurt. Devon shrugged, h was not enjoying seing Magby get hurt, worst of all, this Froslass was way stronger than the Pachirisu they just defeated and it seemed to be enjoying the fight. Devon looked around, the Froslass was trying to intimidate them by hovering around and even when he was in fact intimidated, he could not let it know about it. The boy thought hard for a way to hurt Froslass since not only it was getting the upperhand, they had yet to hurt it. Devon thought hard for a momment, there was something they could do, although the stench of the Smog and Magby following around the Froslass trying to burn it with Embers that never actually hit it was getting troublesome for him to think. The young trainer was getting worried, it didn't appear there was a way for them to win "that smell!" thought Devon to himself, it was just as bad as the smells coming from garbage, it was just as annoying and he knew he'd better move out, Smog was a Poison Type move and he could get poinsoned. Devon smiled, that gave him an idea "Magby! stop running around, use a Smog, as dense and wide sprea as you can!" he said to his pokemon. Magby turned to him, that wasn't going to hurt the Froslass that much, but at least, he would stop running around for a while. Magby took a deep breath and released a thick cloud of purple Smog surrounding him and the Froslass as well. Devon smiled, he knew the Smog would not hurt Magby, but being as thick and close to Froslass it would hopefully be enough to Poison the wild pokemon and give them the advantage needed to win the battle.
