Riley had agreed to travel with her, which Palia enjoyed. Company was always good on this sort of long journey. They had made their way out of Pallet town and on to a route with tall grass where other trainers that had been at Professor Oak’s were already having some of their first battles or encounters. She heard Riley and Pepper join back up with her on the path, Ellie’s tail wagging excitedly as they approached. “Are you familiar with this region at all?” She asked as she pulled out her map, trying to figure out exactly where they should head first. It wasn’t long after that before she heard some rustling and felt Ellie tense up when Riley’s pokemon let out a startled chirp.
There were two pokemon approaching them - both small in stature. Palia took no time in pulling out her pokedex and figuring out what they were. “Munchlax and Joltik, huh?” She said to herself as she placed the device back in her bag. “Want to take them on or talk to them first?” She asked as Ellie who hopped down off her shoulders to go over and sniff out the competition. Palia opened her bag and pulled out two pinap berries to offer them to the duo.

Riley stopped and watched the two Pokemon. Soon after, the Munchlax was trying to get into his pack with the Joltik. They clearly weren't causing harm but needed something. Enough that they would try to take it right from something on his back. "I think we should talk to them. They seem pretty harmless," the trainer stated, pulling his backpack off his shoulders and holding it securely against his chest. It wasn't that he didn't want to share, but he just didn't want to have anything taken that he didn't know about. Pepper stayed put, watching over the duo to see if they would make any sudden moves.

Devon The close range Smog made the Froslass cover her face in disgust. Annoyed and angered that her hunch had been correct, she angrily cast a Powder Snow around the Magby to clear the smog. The Smog had dealt her some damage, but considering her barrage of blasts, it had been largely inconsequential compared to what damage Magby had taken. The Froslass was very upset by now, and Devon would have to either capture the Froslass or get defeated.
(rolled 5/10, where 1-3 meant Froslass is Poisoned) ---- Riley and Palia "Munch!" The Munchlax was immediately distracted by the offer of berries and shoved his and Joltik's share into his mouth. Joltik sparked angrily with a small whine, the tiny Pokémon still wary of the duo and the berries barely sweetening the deal for it. Munchlax rubbed his stomach, however and raised a greedy, upfaced paw at the girl with her Eevee. "Munch munch," stated the Munchlax, demanding he wanted more of the berries. If Palia knew better, Munchlaxes had a bottomless pit for a stomach and they really shouldn't be constantly indulged this way.

Devon looked stunned how the Froslass wasn't getting any weaker even after that last Smog. Yeah he knew it would not put her to the ground that instant but he hoped it would at least Poison the pokemon so they could win the battle, but his hopes were crushed now, all he could think of now was to deal as much damage as posible to the pokemon and try to catch it, maybe then it would stop. The boy turned to hisMagby who was covering his face, the Powder Snow was not a move that would deal him a lot of damage but it still hurt and at this rate he would end up being defeated by an Ice pokemon no matter what kind of Type Advantage he had.
Devon shook his head, his eyes showing determination now, there was no other way around anymore, it was time for a full frontal attack and hope for the best. "Magby, I know you're getting hurt but use your closeness to it and release an Ember attack as powerfull as you can!" the boy ordered. Magby nodded, he even smiled, he was getting annoyed now and was happy to hear that command. The red pokemon felt the heat of his lava like blood moving through his body and taking a deep breath he released a powerfull Ember, the strongest he had ever used so far. Devon smiled as he saw the flames engulfing Froslass, there was no way it wouldn't get hurt after that, or so he hoped. Taking the chance he took one of the two pokeballs he had inhis pocket and pressed the button in it to get it to full size, as soon as Magby's attack ended he'd throw the pokeball at the pokemon and hope for it to get caught since otherwise they'd loose this battle.

SaviThe Sandile led the human deeper into the forest, where there was a small pit of sand in a clearing. Sandile turned to Savi, indicating that it was safe before swallowing the small chunks he had accumulated over the span of his traveling. A lone Venomoth had appeared, flapping her wings and sending harmless dust everywhere as she hovered before Sandile. Sandile told Venomoth what he had smelt, and the large, intimidating moth nodded while casting a dubious look at Savi and their Bronzor. At last, Venomoth flew away to warn the rest of the forest about the Skuntank stench, and Sandile turned to Savi and Bronzor with a mixed look of sadness and longing. They were now at the end of Sandile's house- if Savi continued moving, it would take a day to reach the next town and Sandile was too terrified of the smell to move further. Savi continued to follow the Sandile, but now that they were off the path and deep into the woods, their wariness was kicking in. Ideally, they'd be making markers to lead them back to the main route, but there was no way to do that here without stopping the Sandile every minute or so - and it'd give away their suspicion in the bargain. Resigning themselves to wherever the Sandile was taking them, Savi could only hope Bronzor was doing his fair share of committing their little walk to memory as well. At last, they arrived at a small sandy clearing. The openness of the space made Savi feel better immediately: of course they weren't scared of the forest, but it wasn't as if forests were something they were used to. There were no forests near Lavaridge, and certainly there were no forests in their bedroom. Give me rock and ash anyday, Savi thought, watching Sandile communicate with a giant Venomoth. No bugs or poison ivy on Mt. Chimney. When the Venomoth flew away, Savi knelt down again and gave the Sandile a few final pats. "Thank you," they said, and they wanted to say more, but they could sense the Sandile wanted to stay right where he was. Which seemed a shame, but Savi wasn't about to kidnap a Sandile (or any other Pokémon, for that matter) from his home. Besides, there was another option. Savi searched through their bag again, pulling out a flimsy black tank top and handing it to the Sandile. With the help of Bronzor (who seemed amused that it had taken its Trainer this long to remember that all Pokémon could communicate with one another), Savi managed to convey that if the Sandile, or any of the Sandile's companions, wanted to join them later within the next few days, the Sandile could use the scent from the tank top to find them. Any time after that, however, and Savi and Bronzor would probably be no longer in the area, making the trip significantly harder and the scent much fainter. But still, Savi wanted Sandile to know that the choice existed in the first place.

Lennox The Skuntank foe was waiting, ready for the Klefki. As the curious little foreign creature raced into the midst of the dark haze, the Skunk Pokemon grinned, knowing she was much better equipped for combat in such dark terrain. But the advantage would not last for long and the Skuntank dove forward with claws unsheathed, making a bit of noise as her heavy fur coat rustled and she stepped on a twig but at her incredible velocity, she hoped it would not be enough time for the other Pokemon to dodge her Fury Swipes; the SmokeScreen was already beginning to fade now, by the time this attack landed or failed, the advantage would be almost completely dissipated. ---- Rory squirmed and flailed his legs a bit before withdrawing them into his tucked formation again. He sighed loudly and looked rather defeated. Finnian nodded in a conceding manner. He waited as Shu and Yoonhee argued for a bit, it wasn't clear if they were accepting a win or just bickering over the strategy that had got them to this point. Shu seemed proud if a bit cocky and Yoonhee seemed a bit angry at her Mienfoo's showoff attitude and carelessness and seemed to be letting her anger get the best of her. Raising an eyebrow and his arms into the air, Finn raised his squeaky voice to interrupt their shouting match:
"Em, once ye both be done with yer foostering, it might interest ye that I've already given up. An' Rory is after doing the same as well, he is. But we had a bloody great time of suckin' diesel, I can assure ye." Finn gave a kind smile and continued, "But now dat Rory's knackered, we're gonna forfeit. Tanks fer de craic, even if ye both nutters an' a shower of sausages at that. We won't likely forget yer ructions an' yer experience as our first real battle. Ye wanna keep in touch?" Finnian asked with a nervous grin.
The trainer walked toward the middle of the field, shooing Shu off of Rory and then righting his Pokemon onto his legs. The Turtwig gave his friend a bemused and apologetic frown and turned over his shoulder as if insisting to Finn, 'hump off, mate'. Finn shook his head and rubbed at Rory's shell and on his neck slightly, whispering that he did a great job. The Turtwig swallowed and nodded slowly, it was unclear if he believed the sentiments yet but Finn would save a proper pep talk for when they were alone. The redheaded lad once again continued across the street, Rory now trailing behind him like before, but reached Yoonhee on the other side this time and held out his hand to shake hers in congratulations and appreciation. "Ye were a great foe, Yoonhee. Thanks fer the challenge."

Devon The point blank Ember engulfed the Froslass, before a pair of eerie yellow eyes revealed she was still holding fast amidst the super-effective flames. (7/10, 3 and below for a burn) Froslass was about to use Astonish when the ball sailed and bonked her on the head, absorbing her inside. The Pokéball fell onto the grass, and shook once before the Froslass emerged. Terrified, the Froslass self-protectively cloaked herself in another Powder Snow without attacking the Magby. Her eyes searched the place, looking for a way to escape before the human would best her.
30/100, 25 and below for a successful capture. Capture 1/3 failed. ---- Savi Sandile looked sad when the person offered him a small wooly thing instead of a Pokéball. The Sandile took the black tank top and climbed into Savi's bag instead, peeking out of the flap and watching them defiantly. The baby had no idea where they were going, but he was eager to follow Savi at least for a while.
Friendship Catch- success(100%) ---- "Keep in touch?" Yoonhee looked mildly surprised as Shu backflipped off the Turtwig's stomach to return to her side, "Like, sure, what's your number?" She handed her Gear over, a shy grin crossing her face as Shu stuck his tongue out at the Turtwig. The impatient girl looked around and Shu tugged on her pants as if looking for validation for winning the battle. "No, screw off, you went against, like, everything we like, planned," dismissed Yoonhee in mild distraction and Shu's ears flopped at being denied. There was a tussle in some bushes behind them, and two Pokémon burst out as if locked in battle. A small humanoid Pokémon and a blue frog with a bubble mane seemed to be fighting over a Blackglasses one had found, and Yoonhee looked to Shu once more. Shu turned away, crossing his arms at disappointment of his owner.
"'kay. I give you one job, Shu. Like, go, and like, break the duo up. And like, steal that whatever they're holding. That looks kind of valuable." Shu gestured to a Pokéball and Yoonhee mulled over this for a few moments, "Sure- if you can like, bring one down, I'll just like, catch one. It's all like, up to you." The Mienfoo spat crassly on the ground before Yoonhee returned a glance to Finn. "You up for like, a real match? Sorry to burst like, your bubble, but like, I'm fairly certain that like, that frog is mine."

Devon sighed in disappointment as the pokeball released the Froslass before returning to his hand. The boy turned to Magby as the pokemon watched the Froslass, now apparently scared to cover herself with the Powder Snow move. Devon took a look at the pokeball, he didn't expected the Froslass to be caught at the first attempt, but he din't expected it to be released so fast either. "hmm I guess we'll just have to weaken her a bit more" he said to himself.
The trainer looked at his pokemon "Magby use Ember to get rid of the snow surrounding it and as soon as it dissapears, try using Smog again!" he called. Magby nodded, throwing an Ember attack at the Powder Snow to dissipate it and as soon as the Froslass was in sight again, magby instinctively Leered at the Ice pokemon before surrounding her with Smog once again. "it may not be anough to weaken it, but at least that will give us a chance to poison her... hopefully now it'll work" thought Devon as we awaited for the Froslass reaction before giving Magby any other command.

NDA small egg-shaped Pokémon fell onto ND's head, wiggling over to reveal a loud, bawling Togepi. In hot pursuit was a strange green bird that appeared strong, and the Xatu perched in a tree while glaring at the Togepi. Togepi cried loudly as he covered his face, while Xatu crowed enigmatically and glared at ND as if to will the child to return his prey to him. Togepi, level 5 Xatu, level 25 ND immediately noticed the volatile nature of the bird Pokémon, and decided quickly that hus best course of action would be to look up the Pokémon on hus Pokédex. Xatu, the Mystic Pokémon. Xatu is said to be able to foretell the future with a high degree of accuracy, but it is unknown whether its prophecies are correct.
ND also learned that any grass-type attacks would be useless against the Xatu, and decided that if it came to a fight, only a poison attack would work. Then again, Isaac appeared to be weak to both flying and psychic types. What was hu supposed to do? Hu couldn’t just leave the egg Pokémon to itself, but hu didn’t want Isaac to get hurt on their very first day together! A chirping sound came from hus bag, where Isaac sat. There was a determined look in his eyes, but ND knew there was no way to win a battle like this. The Xatu could fly, and therefore Isaac couldn’t get close enough to poison it. But hu wouldn’t leave the egg by itself. Making possibly the dumbest decision of hus life, hu ran forward, scooped up the egg Pokémon, turned hus tail, and ran for hus life. Please don’t follow me!
At least this would make for an interesting journal entry.

Ellie let out a low growl when Munchlax asked for more berries from Palia. Didn’t that pokemon know the rest of those berries were for her and her alone? Palia looked down at the munchlax and simply sighed. Berries were in limited supply until she could find berry fields to plant them, so she figured she’d try to battle these two pokemon and capture them. “Hmm, we could. This one seems pretty eager to eat me out of berries.” She said with a laugh. Palia had no qualms battling the two of them either if it came to that. “Ellie seems like she’s ready to take them on, though.” She said as she adjusted her own bag to pull it away from the duo.

Devon The Leer was mostly obscured by the snow melting around the Froslass- though the snow had cushioned the damage it would've dealt to the Froslass. (7/10, 3 and below for a burn.) The Froslass tried feebly once more to shield herself as the Smog surrounded her once more, terrified and annoyed more than anything. (5/10, 3 and below for poison.) She directed two more Ice Shards at the Magby's feet, hoping to trip the small duck creature over before she could finish it off or at least buy some time for the Froslass to escape. ----- ND The Togepi let out a small scream as he was manhandled, but clung onto the strange person for dear life as the person fled the scene. Xatu cawed, about to attack before being struck by a vision of the person. The mystic waved a wing enigmatically, taking off in the opposite direction as Togepi tried to wiggle out of ND's arms. "Toge! Toge!" the egg Pokémon exclaimed, before jabbing the three pointed tips of his head into the person's chest in an attempt for the person to free him. ----- Palia "Munch?" The Munchlax looked confused as his Berry supply was cut off, and even the bag was taken from him. The Joltik sparked angrily and assertively at the Eevee, clicking its tiny jaws to warn the small fox to not make any sudden movements. Munchlax watched the duo, before waggling his claw in a Metronome. Without warning the Munchlax charged forward, the ground rumbling under him in an obvious Bulldoze attack.

Devon could only watch how Magby covered his face to shield it from the Ice Shard attack, though it was directed to his feet which made Magby trip to the floor. Devon worried, it was clear the Froslass wasn't holding back at all and they could end up loosing this battle or even worse if this didn't stop soon. "Magby hurry up and use Ember!" the boy commanded. Instinctively Magby released a large flame before him to engulf the nearby Froslass, hoping it would be enough to defeat it. Devon took the pokeball once more, unlike Magby, he knew the Ember was not going to defeat the Froslass, but hopefully, it would weaken the pokemon enough to get caught. As soon as Magby's attack stopped, Devon hurled the spheric devide at the Froslass. The boy took Magby's pokeball with his other hand, this time it was all or nothing now, if Froslass wasn't caught he'd return Magby and run as fast as he cans to scape the pokemon, he would not let his pokemon be beaten beyong this point.

SaviSandile looked sad when the person offered him a small wooly thing instead of a Pokéball. The Sandile took the black tank top and climbed into Savi's bag instead, peeking out of the flap and watching them defiantly. The baby had no idea where they were going, but he was eager to follow Savi at least for a while. Friendship Catch- success(100%) Sandile looked mighty comfortable in Savi's bag, wrapped up in the tank top Savi had given him. Sure, he was probably crushing more than a few of Savi's things, but Savi could forgive him: they couldn't believe that their party had grown to two so fast. No wonder Trainers were always logging in and out of the PC system - if catches happened at this rate all the time, narrowing down their party down to just six must be excruciating. Savi patted Sandile's head once more. "Welcome to the team, I suppose," they said, with Bronzor translating. "I might have to put you down after a while; my arms are nowhere as strong as yours." Already they could feel the dig of their bag strap in their shoulder. "Where to next, do you think?" Savi asked Bronzor. They were some distance away from their original path, but in hindsight, if Sandile had wanted them out of that way so urgently, then they probably didn't want to backtrack. Besides - Savi's mind clicked at last - the Skuntank might still be around. Aside from smelling like hell, a Skuntank could make mincemeat out of their underleveled party. No amount of tomato juice could fix that. Peering at their Town Map, Savi and Bronzor finally decided to simply head north. Viridian was north of Pallet, so sooner or later, they had to hit the city. Or so they hoped. Back into the thick of the woods, Savi thought as they left the clearing.

Devon Once again, the Froslass was engulfed in flames and twirled around to release herself. She was now injured, and at her last bit of health. (3/10, 3 and below for a burn.) The ball took her by surprise and absorbed her, falling into the grass with a shake. The ball wobbled once before snapping shut in a single hit. Froslass had been caught!
(35/100, 44 and below for a successful capture.) ---- Savi A Cubchoo strolled across Savi and their new party, largely disinterested in them. He had wanted to find someone he could rest in, and the Skunktank's appearance had displaced the small ice bear. A loud noise disrupted them as a Loudred burst out from some bushes, disturbed by the stench and obviously enraged. "Lou dred dred!" screeched the larger Pokémon, stamping her feet angrily and creating small tremors around her as she turned to the human and their tiny party. "Dred!" Loudred cried out, sending the Cubchoo scattering as she boomed at Savi.

Devon was in awe as he saw the pokeball stopped shaking. he couldn't believe it, he had caught his first pokemon! The boy smiled and even jumped in excitement, rushing to Magby he got the pokemon from the ground hugging him and thanking the pokemon for the fierce battle he had just put. Magby smiled and chirped happy, although it didn't took long for Devon to realise Magby's body was burning him so he let go of the Fire pokemon soon. THe boy moved to the pokeball containing Froslass on the ground "it was one tough battle wasn't it?" he asked Magby who only nodded before sitting down, exahusted, it was clear he needed some rest. Devon smiled and putting away Froslass' pokeball in his pocket, he reached for Magby's and returned him "its ok, have some rest now" he said to his pokemon as he returned him.
The boy put away Magby's pokeball in his pocket with Froslass and reached for his backpack before moving on through the route, he wanted to find someplace to rest for a while before releasing Frolass to learn more about his new pokemon. As we moved through the route, it was clear to Devon he was reaching for parts he had not yet come through, he was now the farthest from Pallet Town that he has ever been, what could he found here, hopefully more than broken pokeballs, he had plenty of those stored at home.
(Item finding if possible please?)
