Palia"Munch?" The Munchlax looked confused as his Berry supply was cut off, and even the bag was taken from him. The Joltik sparked angrily and assertively at the Eevee, clicking its tiny jaws to warn the small fox to not make any sudden movements. Munchlax watched the duo, before waggling his claw in a Metronome. Without warning the Munchlax charged forward, the ground rumbling under him in an obvious Bulldoze attack. Pepper took off from Riley's shoulder as he ran from the battlefield. It was great to finally be getting into the real stuff. The Munchlax then began waggling its claw and charged with what the trainer's Pokedex registered as a Bulldoze attack. Luckily, the Starly was a Flying-type. Both it and its trainer knew that there was no threat to it in this attack. It waited out whatever result it may have brought and prepared to counter attack.
"Go in for a Quick Attack on the Munchlax once it's done!" Riley commanded, trying to keep an eye on both of the foes.

SaviA Cubchoo strolled across Savi and their new party, largely disinterested in them. He had wanted to find someone he could rest in, and the Skunktank's appearance had displaced the small ice bear. A loud noise disrupted them as a Loudred burst out from some bushes, disturbed by the stench and obviously enraged. "Lou dred dred!" screeched the larger Pokémon, stamping her feet angrily and creating small tremors around her as she turned to the human and their tiny party. "Dred!" Loudred cried out, sending the Cubchoo scattering as she boomed at Savi. Loudred level 22 Well, we're f*cked, Savi thought at the first sight of the Loudred stomping towards them. Unlike the cute little Cubchoo, the Loudred needed no Dex introduction: the species was native to Hoenn, and more than a few Trainers had passed by Lavaridge with one. Loudred become temporarily deaf after they finish shouting....Not that that helps us now. If we don't shut this one up, then we'll be the deaf ones. Not to mention a deaf Loudred could still pummel them all to bits. Savi adjusted the strap of their bag, feeling Sandile's weight bite into her shoulder. There was no way that they could outrun the Loudred - if they really needed to, which was looking likely - with something that heavy. Maybe it was time to rethink the no Poké Ball rule - but not right now. "I need your help for a bit," Savi told Sandile. They could tell the Sandile was frightened, but if they were going to survive this, then they needed both of their Pokémon on board. "I can't promise you won't get hurt, but I'll do my best to keep you and Bronzor safe. If worse comes to worst, we'll just run for it." The urgency of the situation didn't give Savi more time to persuade Sandile, but perhaps they didn't have to: Sandile had already shown he was protective of Savi, and even if he wasn't, he knew full well that if Savi got squashed, so would he. So he shuffled out of the bag, his claws almost catching on the tank top from before, and joined Bronzor next to Savi. Thank you, Savi thought, giving Sandile another reassuring pat before assessing the situation once more. Sandile's ability is Intimidate, so that should lower Loudred's attack. But that wasn't going to be nearly enough, not with how powerful this Loudred was. "Sandile, use Leer. Bronzor, follow up with Hypnosis." Neither move was damage-dealing - Savi was really starting to wish they had a better repertoire of moves to choose from - but at this point, they supposed any damaging move wouldn't land a scratch on the Loudred anyway. "And both of you, stay out of the Loudred's way!" The goal was only to incapacitate the Loudred enough so they could escape. Savi's nails dug into their gloved palms as they prepared to spring out of the way alongside their Pokémon. They'd gotten lucky once today; they just hoped their luck would hold. If not...Savi tugged on the end of their long red scarf, contemplating the "loudspeakers" on top of the Loudred.

Finn grinned, typing his number into Yoonhee's 'Gear eagerly. He handed it back and she was busy bickering with her Mienfoo again. Rory snuggled against his trainer's shoes and bare shins and crinkled his eyes. Finn nodded and then Yoonhee seemed to be noticing something else. Two Pokemon had erupted from nearby, fighting over an object that was shiny and black. Finnian couldn't make it out but something else disturbed him about the situation. They were still on a street corner on the edge of Pallet Town. Near to the Route or not, this was still a suburban area and the fact that they had emerged from trimmed hedges and bushes that might well be someone's lawn made him wary to fight Pokemon that might indeed belong to someone else. Then again, their squabbling was loud and could potentially cause damage to the area and the trainers that were still dispersing from the lab. Plus, another battle might be fun. The small boy swallowed and then looked up, nodding at his new friend. "I think ye're right. T'ey're either t'rowing shapes or twistin' hay but regardless, t'ey'll make a bloody tip of tese gaffs if we don't intervene hi. Acting the maggot is alright to an extent but these chancers will have the place in tatters if we don't stop 'em. Luckily, t'ey'll like be fighting each ot'er while we help so it'll make it easier, to be sure to be sure. Rory, go jump in and start with a Tackle!" The Turtwig uncurled himself from his trainer's feet, where he'd been listening slowly and carefully from the start, and jumped into action, pouncing forward to lunge at the blue frog foe first. Finnian took his Pokedex out again and scanned the seemingly wild Pokemon to find out information on them. His Pokedex recited aloud: "Frogadier, the Bubble Frog Pokemon. This Water type is is a nimble and swift Pokemon; it can scale a tower exceeding 2,000 feet in one minute, and it can throw bubble-coated pebbles at targets up to 100 feet away. It can confound opponents by leaping about ceilings or into trees." "Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokemon. This Fighting type baby Pokemon is well known for having the potential to evolve into three different forms: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop. Tyrogue is also famous for its eagerness to compete and boundless energy, to such an extent that it will challenge anyone, even larger foes. Determined to make itself stronger, Tyrogue will not quit no matter how many times it loses. As a result, it is always nursing its injuries from fighting opponents larger than itself. As Tyrogue becomes stressed if it is not able to train every day, its Trainer must maintain a regular training schedule." ---- DevonAs the boy continued on his way, he spotted a letter nestled in the grass. It was stained on the front and seemed to have likely fallen from the mail messenger's bag somehow en route to its recipient. On the front was a white and red and blue print framing a steel suspension bridge image and the envelope seemed strangely heavy, as if it might contain something nice inside. In a fluid handwritten script, the letter was adressed: Cierra Chandler c/o Viridian City Pokemon Center, Kanto

Savi The Loudred shrugged off the Leer and Intimidate, continuing to stomp and shout before the Hypnosis made contact. Pausing to stare at the Bronzor, Loudred fell onto the grass on her butt and let out a loud yawn. Smacking her lips, she tried to will herself awake, but it was lulling her to slumber. The Loudred let out another resounding yawn, stretching her arms as her eyelids began to droop. (2/10, 6 and below for Hypnosis's accuracy) ---- Riley Munchlax was surprised when the Bulldoze did not even affect the small bird, before he felt the Starly strike him with a well-placed Quick Attack. The Munchlax fell down on the grass face first, managing to waggle his finger once more before jumping up to his feet and trying to lull the Starly to sleep with a sudden Hypnosis attack! --- Yoonhee made a discouraged noise when the boy's Turtwig lunged for the Frogadier too. "Like, again, rude," she stated, entirely ignoring the boy as Shu surged forth once more, "I, like, called dibs on, like, that frog." The Frogadier saw the Turtwig, using the Tyrogue as a meat shield as the Turtwig slammed into the Tyrogue instead, and the baby Pokémon cried out in distress before attempting to use Fake Out to distract them but failing. The Frogadier was too preoccupied at watching the Turtwig that he was struck into the ground by Shu's Pound, and angrily directed a Water Pulse blasting at the Mienfoo. Shu tried to dodge it but the frog was much faster- and the Mienfoo fell on the grass seeing stars. Shaking it out of his head, Shu charged blindly once more, determined to take down the Frogadier with a fight.

ND fumbled with the egg creature in hus arms. “Isaac,” hu called out while running. “What is the Xatu doing?” It seemed best to know what the enemy planned to do before making hus own plan.
Positive burbling noises came from the bag on hus side, which hu took to mean the Xatu had stopped following them. That’s strange, ND thought. It was much stronger than us. Why did it run away? That would be something to write down in hus journal. Never before had something so puzzling happened to hu in all fourteen years of hus life.
But first, ND had to help this egg pokémon.
Coming to a sudden halt, ND carefully set the pokémon on its bottom so it could stand by itself. Without knowing how to calm it, ND decided to sing the song that one of hus carers had sung to hu as a child. Maybe it would have a calming effect on the pokémon as well. After it stopped moving, assuming it didn’t run away immediately, hu could use the Pokédex to discover the name of it.
Hu opened hus mouth and allowed the familiar, lilting melody to flow from it.

Air Mail received! Devon picked up the letter from the grass, watching it carefully he realized how detailed the envelop was. The boy turned around the letter and could read its recipient "Viridian City... that's just ahead of this route... maybe I could get there and deliver" said the boy to himself. He put the Air Mail in his backpack, careful to not tear or damage it and continued his path. It didn't took long for him to find a good place to rest, there was a small water stream nearby and a clear in the woods. Devon took some dried wood from the surroundings and after setting a fire, he took out his food, a whole lot of sandwiches his mother prepared for him. The boy smiled, he would not eat that many sandwiches by himself, at least not all at once, but having this many only meant he'd have enough to eat for dinner. Devon searched through his backpack and found a small frying pan his mother set for him and putting it on the fire he started warming up the sandwiches, one at the time. As the food was ready, Devon took Magby's pokeball and released the pokemon. A well rested Magby saluted his trainer before looking around investigating the surrounding area. As soon as Magby spotted the warm food he rushed to the frying pan stealing the sandwich Devon was cooking there and eating it before his trainer could say a word. Devon smiled and let Magby have the sandwich while he took Froslass pokeball and released the pokemon before him. Froslass looked around, it was clear she had been taken away from her home and she wasn't happy with that. The pokemon glared at both Devon and Magby (who was too busy eating to notice anyway) and turned her back on them, Devon smiled, he expected Froslass to behave like this. The boy took one of the sandwiches and offering it to Froslass he spoke to the pokemon "I understand you're not happy with us Froslass, but fro today adn forward I'm going to be your trainer, so it would be best we get along" he explained. Froslass sighed, a cold breath comin from her mouth ebfore she looked back at Devon through the corner of her eye. Noticing the food, Froslass turned around and snatched the sandwich from Devon before turneing her back on him again, using her breath to freeze the sandwich, Froslass moved away from the duo and started eating her food, she was not happy with this change and she was not hiding it. Deovn smiled, it seemed it would be harder to befriend Froslass than he expected it to be, luckily, he had enough time to do it now.

NB Togepi looked confused when the person began to sing, and the noise did nothing to calm it. The Togepi closed up his three spikes and sat down, looking like a harmless oval rock wearing an eggshell. If the person was audacious enough to move any closer, they would be throttled by a terrified spiked egg. The Togepi was glad to be put down, yes, but he was also confused and terrified by the person's intentions. Assuming they would leave if he did not move, the Togepi sat erect. --- Devon Something seemed to watch Devon and his team from the bushes. Large, eerie eyes followed the path of several sandwiches being passed around, before several hungry Patrats revealed themselves. "Pat! Patrat!" they chattered, attempting to mug the human of the sandwich. Jumping onto Devon, the Patrats attempted to tear into his clothes in frenzied hunger. Even though he had been lucky with Froslass, it wouldn't be long before the Patrats would go for his throat- Devon should've invested in some rat poison before he left Pallet.

Devon shouted in surprise as he was teckled by the Patrats, though at first he thought it was a game, he soon realized it wasn't when the pokemon started biting on him. As he could, the boy punched one of the Patrats away from his face so he could breath again "Magby, Forlass help!" he yelled before he was covered by rats again. Both pokemon turned around and as he ate the last o his sandwich Magby jumped and released an Ember over the Patrats, enough to hit them but careful not to set hiz trainer ablaze. Froslass on the other hand sighed annoyes, she didn't even had time to eat her food properly when she was already needed. The ice pokemon turned around as soon as Magby finished his attack, the Patrats turned their attention to their attacker. Froslass took the chance and Leered at the Patrats before releasing a Powder Snow attack at them, surely the change in termperature caused by the attacks would hurt them more.
As his pokemon attacked the wild Patrats, Devon punched them away from his face and as soon as he was free, he jumped away from their reach. The boy rushed to the frying pan in the fire and taking it by the handle he took position behind his pokemon, if the patrats wanted to fight, they'd have to fight with all of them at once, a three on three battle... though one wasn't a pokemon, it sounded fair in Devon's mind.

ND soon realized the pokémon didn’t care for hus song, so hu closed hus mouth and thought. If it had been hu, hu would feel scared and helpless after the Xatu attack, and now there was a stranger. Of course the pokémon didn’t seem to like hu. It was probably afraid of hu! “Isaac,” ND said in a low voice so as not to frighten the pokémon. “Can you ask what’s wrong? If it doesn’t answer we’ll leave. Does that sound okay?” ND didn’t want to leave the helpless pokémon by itself, but hu couldn’t very well force it to like hu. Isaac burbled and climbed out of the bag. ND picked him up and set him on the ground next to hu, making sure to keep a lot of room between hus Budew and the egg pokémon. While Isaac began to burble again, ND pulled out hus pokédex and scanned the pokémon. Togepi, the Spike Ball Pokémon. Togepi is filled with an energy that makes people happy. When treated well, Togepi shares this energy with others, but when it comes near a human with an impure heart this energy quickly disappears, leaving Togepi exhausted.Does this mean it thinks I’m impure? What was ND supposed to do now?! Hu could only wait for the pokémon’s reply.

Devon The frantic, angry jabbering of the Patrats seemed to increase when the Pokémon and human both counterattacked and refused to yield their sandwiches. The three Patrats got into formation and used a combined Sand-Attack to cloud the vision of the trio, before seizing the chance amidst the chaos to steal Devon's satchel. One Patrat was screaming because it had gotten burnt, but the other two quickly shut it up and got themselves to the safety of the trees. They were too fast for Devon to attempt to get his bag back, and it wasn't long before a small trail of items began to form as the ravenous rats returned to their houses underground. His current campsite was a short walk away to Viridian City, so he could possibly convince someone to help him while delivering the Air Mail he had gotten previously. ----- ND The Togepi slowly opened at the Budew's burbling, looking at ND before turning to the Budew again. "Piii," commented the Togepi, noticing the strange energy source the human gave off. It was neither one that energized or tired him out, and Togepi tried to signal this to the Trainer in his confusion. Togepi was still reeling from nearly being an omelette, and though the human had saved him, he was still on guard about things.

The Munchlax fell down on the grass face first, managing to waggle his finger once more before jumping up to his feet and trying to lull the Starly to sleep with a sudden Hypnosis attack! The Starly's movements became slower as the Munchlax entered its mind. It was growing so tired that it nearly dropped straight from the sky. It slowly overcame the extreme drowsiness and was able to deal with it. Everything was harder than before, but it was still able to fight. Commands from Riley were harder to comprehend due to her state. Pepper made her own decision and went in for another Quick Attack, but not as quickly as before. The Hypnosis was a lot more help than the Munchlax could have hoped.

Riley The Munchlax scrambled up to his feet and broke into a run, trying to get in a Tackle but being knocked off his feet once more by the Quick Attack. Doubling over in pain, Munchlax cried out and waggled his finger one last time, and the Munchlax's paws seemed to increase exponentially in size as he went for the Starly. With a slap, the Munchlax attempted to crush the Starly in a sudden Crush Grip attack!

With a slap, the Munchlax attempted to crush the Starly in a sudden Crush Grip attack! Both Riley and Pepper were unsure how to react to this attack. Due to the nature of it, there was no clear indication how strong it would be. It would really depend on how injured the Starly was. Sadly, without knowing a Pokemon's pain limit a trainer cannot make an educated guess as to whether to take the attack or retreat. This was one of few moments that battling with a new Pokemon could be consider an unwise choice. Knowing that the result would be unknown, the trainer took the initiative and tossed a Pokeball at the Munchlax. His only hope was that the attack could be stopped by a capture attempt. Actual capture would be excellent, but was not the objective.

Riley Shockingly, the Munchlax was absorbed immediately into the Ball. The Pokémon, with some pep left in it, made the Ball struggle violently but it still yielded eventually. The flashing light of the release button soon dimmed to signify a successful capture. Riley was incredibly lucky- Munchlax had been caught!
(15/100, 15 and below for a successful capture. I s2g you lucked out so hard on this)

Devon covered his face with the frying pan to shield it from the Sand Attack, it worked, he didn't had any sand in his eyes, though the combined attack from the three pokemon created a large cloud of dust that made impossible for him to see where the pokemon were. The boy turned around and saw his pokemon cleaning off their eyes from the sand and as soon as the cloud cleared, he could see clearly there were no Patrats around. Devon sighed in relief, he thought they had scared them "we did it!" the young trainer said to his pokemon before he noticed his backpack was no where near them. Devon looked around the area, there was nothing, all he could see, in the distance, were a couple of his things scattered around. "let's go!" the trainer called as he ran to the woods trying to folow up the Patrats, picking up his stuff in the process, though it was futil, all he could found was the book in which he had saved up the Air Mail, and nothing else, to make things worse, he was starving, he didn't had tie to pick even a sandwich before he got mugged. After thinking hard for a while Devon thought of a solution, or at least, the best solution he could come up with, he'd take the Air Mail to Viridian, after all it wasn't that far, and given it was adressed to be delivered at the Pokemon Center, maybe he could have some food there. The boy returned his pokemon to their pokeballs, they were hungry as well, but at least, they ate something, hopefully enough to arrive at Viridian's Pokemon Center and eat some proper food. The trainer put the two pokeballs back in his pocket and with the book and Air Mail in hand he made his way to Viridian. It took him longer than expected, but after about an hour of walking, Devon had arrived to Viridian City's Pokemon Center, the boy smiled, finally he could have something to eat, or so he hoped. The sweting boy approached the counter and putting the Air Mail on it, he spoke to Nurse Joy "excuse me... Nurse Joy" he said awaiting for the woman to turn to him. After a cheery greeting and introduction from the nurse's part he continued speaking "hi, do you happen to know somebody named Cierra Chandler? I found this on Route 1 on my way here" he explained to the woman showing her the Air Mail on the counter and just as soon as he stopped talking his stomach made a loud noise, ashaming the boy, but there was nothing he could do about it, he was starving now...
