near the waters edge just ahead, what looked like a a moving pile of brown fur rested next to the lake, taking a long sip of water. People from a far were observing it with special interest. One woman commented that it looked like her swinub, pointing to another furry pokemon and giving identity to her claim. She seemed puzzled, commenting that wild ones typically dob't travel to warmer spots like this. Apparently finally noticing the other people with its poor hearing, the pokemon turned around and began to small the air. Kaiser Near the entrance to the city, an odd humming sound could be heard. Normally attributed to electrical equipment, one would assume that it came from the towers above, however this sound was getting louder, as if it were coming closer. Above, hanging by a nearby tree, a large blue and yellow arachnid pokemon was searching through the trees from a good place to make a nest. It put its feelers into the air to test the electricity in the air, making a small humming sound each time it attempted this. female, approx. lv. 36 Kaiser looked aroung following the humming noise, it was, annoying but there was nothing he could do about it, it came from the electric towers, or so he thought until he saw the big yellow andblue spider above him. Kaiser smiled, normally he was not one to care for Bug Type pokemon, he didn't liked them, at least most of them, there were only a handful of pokemon he liked and this Galvantula was one of them. Kaiser took one of his pokeballs and hurled in the air "Nidorino use Poison Stings on that Galvantula!" he called. Yeah, maybe a Fire Type like Charmeleon would have been a better option due to the type advantage, but Charmeleon's moves would end up taking ablaze the whole tree and it was already bad enough to trouble the Galvantula while it was minding its business, worst would be to burn down the housing of any other pokemon that lived in the tree. Nidorino growled in agreement to his trainer and as soon as his feet touched the ground he released the barrage of poisonous barbs towards the tree canopy, aiming at the Galvantula, but both the pokemon and his trainer knew the move was more to call the pokemon's adventure that to hurt it, Galvantula could simply jump away from the tree to dodge the attack, but at least they'd have its attention.

Manta
A tall man came out from the nearby bike store for some fresh air. A small pokemon with glimmering eyes of gems stood beside him. The man yawned loudly, patting off his dirtied apron and looking around. The man's pokemon sniffed randomly in the air, it showed it's bright sharp teeth in a sinister grin. The small pokemon launched itself forward toward the young trainer. It jumped onto his pant leg and fished out the recently acquired keystone. "Oi! Stop that!" The man shouted in what appeared to be an Australian accent. "Sorry about that", he said as he rushed over. " I didn't mean to cause you trouble but-" his words were cut short as he stared at the stone. "That's a keystone, right? You must be an accomplished trainer to have one of those...stay there for a second." The man rushed into his shop and returned with a small pocket booklet. "These are bike vouchers" he said, trying to catch his breath. "if you return here after proving yourself a bit more and give me one of those vouchers, I'll give you a bike." The small pokemon climbed around the boy's pantleg. "Oh, I know!" The man pointed into the air. "if you can train that sableye to be a powerful pokemon, just even a bit, and I'll count that." The sableye looked up at the sound of its name. " don't worry, it ain't mine. It hangs around my shop sometimes. It's wild. " the man began to walk away. "I'll give sableye to you, young man. Hes a bit of a prankster, and pretty crafty. Come back with it stronger and I'll give you a bike. Give some vouchers to some other key stone holders. I need the business of good trainers to spread the brand."
Pokemon acquired: sableye, male, approx lv. 32, ability: prankster, egg move: recover

Caught in the attack, it was lifted off the ground almost a meter before it reacted. The small pokemon released a steady stream of cold air from within the twister, chilling it and the debris caught within it. The icy wind attack slowly changed the vortex into a twister that was now releasing snow and bits of hail. As the Twister moved, the swinub was released from it, not noticeably hindered. If anything, the icy twister seemed to refresh it. Snow began to fall and the air began to chill around it. As it calmed down a bit from the now colder environment, it took its notice off of the dragonair for just a bit. Kaiser- The galvantula, quickly climbed down the trunk of the tree to avoid the poison sting attack. Each step sent out an echoing sound not unlike woman's heels. It was clearly angry and didn't very much like being disturbed. The electric spider gathered itself and quickly spat out multiple wads of gray thread in rapid succession. As each hit the ground, they expanded into Web like stuctures that spread a meter across. Each one was coated in a sticky film that would undoubtedly slow the opponent down. Galvantula could move freely upon them as it rushed forward to attack, attempting to cripple the opponent further with a thunder wave attack. It's front feelers sparked vigorously before shooting a flurry of small electrical waves at the nidorino. It was clear that this pokemon op referred to cripple the opponent before delivering a final strike.

Kaiser jumped back dodging the spiderwebs the Galvantula had released on the round, he knew that they'd be just as harmful to him as they were to any other pokemon. The trainer looked at Nidorino, with so many webs around his movements were limited, he'd have to try to use ranged attacks, and Nidorino didn't had many of those. While his trainer dodged the webs, Nidorino awaited the Galvantula's next move until it actually hit him, a Thunder Wave reached Nidorino who shrugged, it didn't hurt, but he had reacieved the attackbefore, he knew he wouldn't be able to move as easily from now on.
Kaiser shrugged as he saw Nidorino getting Paralized by the Thunder Wave, bow he was even more limited, something needed to be done now. "ok Nidorino, use Poison Stings to the air and use Focus Energy, as soon as it reaches you prepare to use Peck on it" the trainer called. Nidorino nodded and did as ordered while Kaiser watched patiently, this was a combo they had used before, Nidorino would release the Poison Stings to the air, with half stength so they'd fall down around him and his opponent fast and while the opponent was distracted he'd charge at them to attack, though this was the first time they used it this way, now all he could do was to hope the Galvantula to get scared from the poisonous barbs shower and move towards him so he could attack, and pray for the Paralisis to let him attack too, this was truly taking a chance but was the best they could do for now.

The Swinub seemed slightly more approachable due to its calmed nature. She, on the other hand, was shivering from the colder conditions. In her mind, there was always a chance that an aggressive Pokemon was just misunderstood. Bailey was met that way. As a Zigzagoon it was trying to steal food from her bag and got a bit nippy until the girl shared. Maybe it was a similar situation. This Pokemon may just be scared or have been through a rough time, or may even just hate the warm environment. "Hello?" Carli called, scared to approach the mound of fur.

Landon waited patiently for the boy to respond but he seemed to be taking a while. Perhaps he was lost in thought, perhaps he was timid to respond, perhaps he didn't care to engage with strangers, perhaps he was daydreaming, it didn't really bother the tall green-haired young adult all that much. Besides, this was pretty much his eternal state manifested onto another so it wasn't as if he could really complain. The grubby boy waited until Blake finally responded. He seemed slightly more interested now but Landon was entirely convinced. Besides...
"I don't...I don't think I can do that," he said slowly, with an apologetic tone. "None of my Pokemon actually know any Electric moves." He frowned and continued, explaining, "My favorite type is Grass but I have a Froslass that I adore. But I can really respect you for deciding to only work with one type of your preference. That shows determination and persistence." Landon nodded again, agreeing with himself and looking lost for a moment as he trailed off, looking at the ceiling.
"Meeeeeeeeeee," Meganium chuffed in a high, whining noise from behind his trainer. The boy slowly turned his head and his whole body came to match a moment later. The Pokemon, who looked like a large, green, quadruped dinosaur with a neck-frill composed of a gigantic flower, was scratching at the ground and shaking his head determinedly. Opening his mouth again for another high, throaty denial, Landon raised an eyebrow and cocked his head. "Niiiiiii!" he called. Landon nodded suddenly, as if Meganium had made sense as he spoke and only Landon could understand what he had said. In fact, by the way Landon reacted next and Meganium smiled placidly with a content, borderline smug expression on his face at this turn of events, it seemed peculiarly like Landon had understood and the Meganium was contented by his acknowledgement of her addition.
Nodding to himself and turning back to the messy-dressed boy and his Dedenne, Landon next held out his hand to Lombre, who obediently stepped forward and waved with his free hand. "Actually, that might not be entirely true, I s'pose. Meganium is right, my pal here, Lombre, he knows a special move called Nature Power. It changes what type the move is based on the terrain or environment around a Pokemon user. I can't be sure but with all the electricity running Mauville and the techy-environment here, and maybe aided by if Lombre would be permitted to come into contact with your...electric mouse Pokemon...Nature Power might possibly manifest an Electric attack? Shall we attempt it?"

Kaiser-
The galvantula was quickly showered with a spray or poison needles. Each needle that struck the ground made a sound not unlike metal striking metal. The galvantula backed up as it tried to brush the embedded needles from its body. The Web underneath continued to ignore the movements of the large spider. As its abdomen hit the tree behind it, the galvantula could see that it had to strike fast. The large spider opened its feelers and took in a breath, unleashing an ear shattering screech attack. The air around the attack was distorted and the nearby metal sign to mauville audibly vibrated. As the attack was taking place, an odd look came upon the galvantula face. It had been poisoned.
Speshal-
Swinub's nose began to twitch. It could tell someone was approaching. Each step upturned dust in the air and revealed the location. But there didn't seem to be any hostility in the steps, nor any scent of metal out in the open that could be a form of weapon. Swinub took a few shuffling steps forward to meet the girl.

There was no reason to cause it any additional trouble. It was clearly already terrified.

Kaiser covered his ears as the Galvantula released its Screech, the high pitched sound was really annoying and given Nidorino's big ears he knew his pokemon would be just as annoyed as him if not more. Though once the sound stopped, they both looked at the Galvantula, Kaiser smiled, he had seen that face before, the pokemon had been Poisoned, this would even things a little at least. The trainer looked around, with the field covered in poisonous barbs, the pokemon would have to move just as carefully as Nidorino if it didn't wanted to get hurt, and now was their chance to attack "ok Nidorino, Focus Energy and follow up with a Peck!" the trainer commanded. Nidorino nodded and after bulking up for a momment he rushed to the spider, hopefully the Paralisis would allow him to land the hit before kicking in and rendering him defenseless.

MDF-
Blake looked curiously for a moment as he heard the name of an attack. Dedenne mimiced his innocent stare. "If it can do electric stuff then I wanna see it." The odd boy hiccupped, jumping out of his seat a bit, and looked back down. At this point, It seemed as though the boy was low on energy or something, though it could simply have been teh random acts of a young immature trainer. The boy looked back to the ground and continied to kick his feet as if teh conversation had not happened. His attention span was pretty abysmal. It was a wonder as to how he became a gym leader in the first place. As he looked to the ground and kept himself entertained, teh dedenne in his lap watched carefully.
Kaiser-
The distracted galvantula did not noticed to prolonged focus energy attack, putting its energy instead toward removing the barbs from its body. It was not until it heard the heavy, but quite slow footseps of the opponent that it oppened its eyes. The paralysis were surely tensing its muscles as it ran, slowing it down, and the webs on the ground would most liklely cause each step to take more effort to make as they stuck to the opponents feet, releasing with the ripping sound that tape does as it is ripped off. This was the galvantula's plan. As with most of its prey, it slowed it down enough so that it had time to prepare itself. The galvantula hunkered down to prepare its body for the impact. As it was pushed back, a buzzing sound could be heard. Above the wheezing spider, an electric ball was charging. This was its plan for the impact. After sacrificing a chunk of its health, the spider had the nidorino right in front of it for a clear shot. The ball of electricity charged more and more, reacting to the difference in speed from its user and teh target. It was ready to lauinch as soon as the opponent made a move.
Spesh- You can control the swinub for now (until you decide to catch it, set it free, or battle it)

Landon nodded slowly at the strange hiccuping boy. Lombre seemed to have taken the hint and readed a strong stance. The aqua and green Jolly Pokemon sucked in a deep breath and held it, his chest tightening and his arms swaying at the side. His head bobbed for a moment before his entire body became suddenly still and his arms clapped together. Eyes closing, Lombre was putting in a lot of concentration here. He had never tried a Nature Power as an Electric type move and was worried at how it could exhaust him and also the care he would need to exercise in utilizing the technique, as a part Water type himself.
His trainer watched in awe as Lombre reached both hands forward and his claws sizzled with bright yellow sparks of electricity as they neared the Dedenne. Before even touching the creature they were sparking! As he finally brushed against the Electric and Fairy type rodent, his whole body seemed electrified and his eyes got wide and his arms and head bobbed erratically. Thrusting his arms forward powerfully toward an empty wall with rejuvenized vigor, Lombre's entire forearms and claws ran the length and back with a static charge and a yellow ball of energy buzzed to life in front of the tips of Lombre's claws.
The Jolly Pokemon made a guzzling noise and the yellow ball expanded for a moment, made a bright white flash, and exploded outward in an array of fireworks-like electric bolts of sparking, crackling lightning all spinning outward from the further hemisphere of the ball of the energy. Then, as the electric bolts hit their targets against the wall and did no obvious damage to the tall, imposing surface, the ball of energy made a loud cracking noise and dwindled down to nothing. Lombre's arms crackled with a bit of leftover yellowish electric charge and he turned and gurgled a bit and Landon congratulated him on a successful Nature Power, apparently a Thunderbolt at any rate. The pair turned to Blake to see his reaction.

Kaiser shrugged, it was clear that the Peck wans't as effective as he expected, and the Galvantula even had time to prepare a counter attack. The trainer saw how the pokemon prepared to release the Electro Ball against Nidorino, he had to find a way to at least, minimize the damage "Nidorino, use Poinson Stings!" he called. Nidorino roared/grunted in agreement as released a barrage of poisonous barbs against the electric spider. Kaiser awaited, the Poison Stings were supposed to hit the Electro Ball in mid air and hopefully stop it from advancing against Nidorino, but given Nidorino's paralized state, he was not sure what would happen. SpeshalThe Swinub finished muching on the berry that rolled out of the girl's pouch but before it could loaf around, it was presented with yet another berry. Swinub didn't need more convincing at this point, free food was always a wlecome gift and if this girl was tru to her words, food would never be a misswith her. Swinub moved its head to look at Carli and emiting a happy chirp, the pokemon ate the second berry on one bite before pressing the pokeball with its forehead. The pokeball opened and dragged the Swinub inside of it, there was no need for Carli to put the pokeball on the ground as it only shook, slightly, a couple times before staying still, the Swinub had been caught.

The sableye continued to ravage Manta's backpack, curiously checking its contents. This was an odd occurance indeed. He had never trained a dark type pokemon, and the only ghost type pokemon that he had trained was much more obedient than this. "Hey!" Manta shouted while trying to look back, "get out of there! Seriously!" Manta tried to run, hoping the momentum and bouncing would deter the sableye, but the small creature simple regained its balance, repositioned itself, and continued digging. It wasn't until Manta got outside that the sableye calmed down, a little deterred by the bright light. It crawled down and tapped its pokeball, sucking it inside and away from the sun's rays. As Manta walked, he flipped through the pokedex's pages on sableye. Apparently it was a pokemon that lived in caves and were known for their erratic behavior. They look scary but were apparently friendly. He looked further to observe the moves that it had learned so far. They were all about what the young trainer expected. It had scratching attacks that showed off its claws. It even had sight attacks like mean look and leer at its disposal. Manta continued walking down the route, keeping to the water's edge. The smell of water always calmed him. He saw the bike bridge overhead. It would be quicker to go on there, but he would have to get stronger in order to get a bike. Picking up the pace now, Manta continued down the watery route. Event? Kaiser- The unstable electro ball took very little to alter its own path. Each tiny poison sting needle drew electricity out of the ball, causing it to shrink a bit with each strike. It was only a few moments before the ball changed course, hotting a tree behind it. Small shriveled leaves fell silently as a result. Galvantula looked around, its multiple eyes provided an accurate view of the situation. The ground was covered in a sticky web, preventing any reall rapid movements from ground bound creatures. Additionally, the opponent was paralyzed. Normally the situation would be ideal, but the poisoning of the large spider made prolonging this battle dangerous. The electric spider gathered some thread between its front feelers, forming it into a web. The friction caused the web to become electrified. The yellow pokemon opened its feelers to show off the electroweb for a moment before shooting it forward. Galvantula didn't have a lot of time to finish this battle. The next few moves would decide it. MDF- Blakes eyes widened as he watched the sparks fly from the nature power attack. It was as if that attack alone had energized him. His feet began kicking wildly in the chair and his mouth was open wide in amazement. There was a silence for a bit before he eventually spoke. "That's it!" He shouted. "You hafta battle me right away!" The boy's attitude changed so quickly that it was a surprise that it was even him anymore. "Dedenne, let's get ready!" The boy rushed to the back of the room and opened a door that before now simply looked like it led to a closet. The door swung open, showing a gym. Blake ran with surprising speed to the other side of the field, encouraging the boy to hurry up. "c'mon, c'mon, I haven't got all day!" He was stomping on the ground, using up excess energy as his little dedenne ran circles around him, mimicking his energy. A young woman, apparently a referee came in through a separate door, surprised by the commotion. "Master Blake, we have no gym matches scheduled for the day." The woman said in a concerned voice. "Please at least wait until the front room is on order." "Shush! I wanna battle, and that's what we're gonna do! You be the official judge!" Blake snapped back. The woman sighed deeply and took her post. "If the challenger chooses to accept the match request, it shall be a three on three normal battle. Only the gym leader may not substitute pokemon. The match will end when one side is out of pokemon." She took in another breath. "Additionally, pokemon moves that cause sleep onto the user or the opponent are strictly forbidden!" "Can't have the match wind down so easily, right?!" The boy quickly got a pokeball from his waist. "You know what's coming, go rotom!" The ball was sent forward, showing a small toaster oven. It sat quietly for a moment before it surrounded itself with red plasma. The pokemon was equally energetic as the trainer, bouncing around in the air inn excitement, a wide smile appeared on its face. "Well, come on, come on. Do you accept? Let's go!"
