Quez was sitting on a park bench, reading the local newspaper in Twinleaf Town. It was a nice sunny day, and the weather was too nice to stay indoors. Nip was fluttering about a nearby tree, sipping at the Tree's nectar a little. "Noi!" He would squeak, his automatic pokemon noises that came naturally to him. Quetzacoatl turned around and glanced around for her pokemon, "Hey Nip, what you doing?" She called out, and with a rustle, her batty pokemon poked its head out of the leafy tree. "Huntin'." He replied, and returned to searching the tree for berries and small bugs to eat. Quez returned to her paper.
Pokemon Trainer Registration Open Today!
Quez continued to read the article, this event was today... She had been anticipating the second opening, after failing her first time! "Nip! Its regestration day! We should ace the exam this time, then we can go find the others." The girl nodded, feeling both queasy and excited. The noibat quickly fluttered to her side, "Yes! We can finally travel!" His voice was quite excited, he didn't seem to realise that this meant he had to battle. "You know, we can finally battle for real. You don't have to be level one anymore." Quez commented casually, as she collected her items in preparation to take the exam once more.
The anxious female left Nip in the lobby, and told him to be good. "Good Luck Q!" He chimed, and chose to roost upside down on the roof of the exam hall. He clicked once and opted for a nap.
Two hours later, and the anxious female returned from her exam, tired and a little frazzled. "..." She had no energy to talk, and silently handed in her papers. It was marked there and then. Quez couldn't stand to watch and paced the room slightly, "Nip???" She whispered, feeling anxious again. She needed her moral support, and just like that, her Noibat re-appeared before her. "Im here for you Q!" He chimed and nuzzled against her cheek in a comforting manner. "I Bet you aced it!" The man who was marking her test called her over to confirm something she wrote, her writing got more scrawled towards the end, and finished marking her papers. "You got %78. A pass." He responded monotonously and returned her papers, and her Trainer Liscence. It had her tired face on it, and a picture of Noibat. "You get to officially register that Noibat as your pokemon now."
A pokeball was handed to her, with some more forms. So many forms. "Fill that out, then you are permitted to capture it, and then you're free to go."
----
Despite being mentally exhausted, Quez left the exam building with a small spring in her step, a full pokeball in her grasp. Promptly releasing her best friend, "Nip! We did it...!" The now official trainer gave a small smile to her batty pokemon, who clung to her head in a big hug. "I knew it!! Now we can travel Sinnoh together!"
Together, they stopped by the pokemon mart, and quickly headed out to the nearest route, both of them bubbling with excitement for their first ever pokemon battle together - officially.

The Sandile and Chingling took their positions, and Cole raised a hand. "Sandile, use Sand Tomb! Chingling, Wrap!" The Pokemon sprang to action- Sandile conjuring a small typhoon of swirling sand and directing it at the Ekans, while Chingling hopped over to the Miccino in a seemingly harmless way before suddenly grabbing the Miccino and tightly squeezing him in its strings. Cole balled his fists as he stared at his opponent, determined to win it. ----- Harry fell over when the herd of Sawsbuck and Deerling appeared. He hated the idea of disturbing a herd's natural habitat, and decided that it would be better for him to make a detour. "Not disturb. Move away," he stated at last, carefully picking himself up. His left leg seemed a bit out of shape now that they were able to have a look, but Harry was more preoccupied with his egg to realize his Pokémon were casting him in close scrutiny. It was better for him to head to Lake Verity for now- perhaps he would be able to see the lake guardian sleeping there. Whoever knew what he'd meet! With a small bow at the herd, he turned and walked away from them, still limping slightly. ----- A lone Plusle was seen in Quez's path, holding a Cheri berry in her paws and seeming to be lost. Her ears flicked the moment she heard a trainer approach, instinctively curling into a ball to protect her berry with a loud squeak of fear. Both the human and her bat Pokémon scared the timid Plusle, and it was obvious that she may or may not have just stolen the berry and was hence this defensive about it.

As Newt and his team continued on their way toward Sandgem Town, they soon heard a rustling in the bushes. Two boys suddenly appeared, followed by a number of Pokemon. The first boy was tall and blonde with fluffy hair styled into a quiff and a tanned complexion, and he was wearing a black and red uniform, the outfit that distinguished him as a Sinnoh Pokemon Ranger. The boy next to him was much shorter but otherwise an identical match, though his hair was cropped much shorter in the back with longer bands in the front that hung down over his foreheads and into his eyes a bit and he wore goggles and gloves with his matching uniform. The boys smiled and waved to Newt, introducing themselves and their Pokemon in turn, "Hey there, I'm Zander Morganstern," the older one started, "and this is my little brother, Emeric," the younger boy waved and spoke up, "We're Pokemon Rangers in Sinnoh and we're on sabbatical to tour to the region with our Pokemon. You're the first trainer we've met since we left the home office a couple hours ago. And we're itching for our first real battle in a while. It'll be just for fun, obvious, we won't let anyone get seriously hurt this far from a Pokemon Center and we have enough items stocked to heal your Pokemon to full health after the battle so no worries." Gesturing to his Pokemon, the older one, Zander, announced, "My Pokemon are Mareep, Charmeleon, and Zangoose." Emeric, the littler kid, piped up in a high-pitched, squeaky, excitable voice, "My Pokemon are Chatot and Cascoon. Pick one of each of our Pokemon and we'll double battle against your Abra and Wurmple!" Zander and Emeric nodded in unison and waited for Newt to accept their battle request, it would (after all) be rude and almost unheard of to decline a battle invitation. It was only customary to allow a trainer to respond but as the old saying went, "When Pokemon trainers lock eyes, they have to battle." Newt smiled, attempting to be polite, and backed away. Theo quickly took his spot and and clenched his fists, "Yes, we'll battle," he said, taking his trainer by surprise. The boy didn't even know anything about the Wurmple and he was to battle with it? Elliot squirmed out of his arms and dropped to the ground. There wasn't anything that really made him enjoy battles, but if his trainer seemed okay with it, he would be happy to jump in. Theo was already in the worms head by now and gave Newt a repertoire of moves. It was simple: Tackle, String Shot, and Poison Sting. Nothing he could mix up. The only challenge would be actually speaking the moves rather than just thinking them to the Abra like he usually did.
Newt worked up the courage, speaking softly but clearly, "Mareep and Chatot." He thought deeply about this, despite the quick response. The two he chose didn't make a great team. One could fly and the other could shock, no real connection. It was a great thought and, he hoped, not one he would regret.

The two boys that Newt would be battling returned all their Pokemon except those he had chosen. The fiery lizard, the scruffy ferret, and the sticky dark cocoon disappeared in flashes of light and the Rangers put away the extra Pokeballs in their belts. Their Mareep and Chatot walked forward and readied for battle, excited and energetic. Emeric, the smaler boy, was a bit overconfident and hasty, and called out an order to his Chatot quickly, "Chatot, use Chatter!" and his brother followed up, "Then use a Thunder Wave, alright Mareep?" The Pokemon nodded and agreed and the avian Pkemon hopped forward and opened her beak. She sat with her mouth agape for a moment and suddenly clicked her tongue, as a harsh and terrible noise let loose toward the pair of opponents. They would likely need to cover their ears from the pain and as they were distracted, the sheep-like Mareep darted forward and began to crackle with static electricity. Her coat sizzled and sparked and suddenly she raised her tail, the orb on the end glowing and pulsating quickly. With a flick of her tail, she transferred all her built up static into a field of sparking electricity, which sailed through the air in a wide mesh net and aimed itself directly at the pair. The brothers high-fived each other and grinned, proud to be working so well as a team but wondering how Newt would possibly pull off a successful counter to their great opening. --- As Harry, Schultzen, and Kate continued on their way back through Route 201, they passed the fork in the road where they had first headed down in deciding to head to Sandgem earlier. Now continuing on their path in the opposite direction, they were surrounded by a thicker, denser forest and wild Pokemon rustled in the bushes and tall grasses all around, too wary to approach. Soon the group reached the lakefront of the marvelous Lake Verity, a pristine and breathtaking lake whose beauty would be an appropriate rival to that of its northern counterpart near Harry's home. The lake was still but a sudden gust of wind passed through the trees and down against the lake, causing ripples and waves on the surface. The lake seemed to whisper in hushed tones until the breeze died down and the lake reverted to its regular calm again. --- Neina was just as determined to win and taking a lunchtime break had been all she had needed to figure out some basic strategies for Ryan to use whereas she had had years and years to thinks of strategies that Cayden could utilize. As a mini sandstorm whirled around and around, drawing ever nearer to Ryan, and as Cayden became ensnared by the Chingling's wrapping ribbons, Neina quickly called out instructions, "Cayden, use your Iron Tail to break free! Do the spin we always did!" Cayden nodded and she turned her attention over to Ryan, "Uhmmm, Ryan, dodge and then use Wrap!" The Ekans didn't seem to be listening. Cayden's tail began to glow a bright silvery white from under his wrapped covers and he squirmed, able to move freely within the binds of Chingling's prison-like ribbons by displacing his weight because of his rodent lineage. He stood on tiptoe and did a little twirl, grating his hardened tail against the inside of Chingling's ribbons until she finally released him from shock or pain or whatever. Once freed, the panicked Chinchilla Pokemon shouted out to Ryan in a hissing, angry tone, "Hey Ekans, she gave you orders! I know you don't speak English but you should at least be able to pick up some words by now! You need to get to know your attacks! Dodge and use Wrap!" Neina nodded at this exchange, distressed that Cayden's tone but knowing part of this came from his urgent pride and hopes of winning. From now on, she'd relay instructions via Cayden so Ryan could understand and later they'd have a training session to teach Ryan the English equivalents of his attacks for battles in the future. Ryan tried to dodge in time but the tiny sandnado caught him by the tail and whipped him around twice before dissipating, spitting him out by flinging him several feet forward. He was now right next to the foe Sandile! Though bruised slightly, Ryan was glad for his fortunate landing that could have gone much worse and darted forward, slithering as fast as possible. The Ekans circled all around the opponent and then began to curl in closer and closer and closer to get a good Wrap to hold her in place

Michi looked around the town with a bright, excited gaze, looking forward to the thought of taking her test. She was currently searching for the building to take her test in, her body language clearly displaying her barely contained excitement and energy. It had taken her awhile to get there from a boat from Sunnyshore City, and she was looking forward to finally becoming a official trainer.
"I think it's over there, Michi~ I'm sure you'll do well on the test~" A small, gooey dragon chirped from beside her, sliding forward a bit while focusing on the testing building.
"Good spotting Meyrin~ Let's go~" Michi knelt down and scooped up the goomy, Meyrin happily snuggling up close to her friend.
When Michi entered, they told her that Meyrin had to wait in the lobby, Michi obligingly leaving her there while going back for her test. After several hours, the red-headed girl walked back out, looking more subdued then earlier but still exuding energy. She passed her test over the examiner, Meyrin sliding back up to Michi's side.
They waited for the results of the test, Michi being on edge and barely keeping from bouncing around while Meyrin happily stayed perched on her lap, her eyes closed while relaxed and serene. Michi perked up when the grader waved at her, bouncing to her feet and carrying Meyrin to it.
"You got 76%, so you pass. You have a few more forms to fill out, but then you can capture your goomy and get your license." The proctor told her, Michi nodding before focusing on filling out the other forms, putting Meyrin onto a chair beside her, finally finishing and turned in the forms, getting her license. Meyrin entered the pokeball happily, just as excited as her trainer.
Michi left the building, promptly letting out Meyrin and scooping up the squishy dragon, looking around the town once more in debating on what to go and do first.

The Chingling let out a high-pitched screech, using a close-range Growl as he released the Miccino. The Iron Tail stung to the small fragile baby Pokémon, and he kept up the cute Growling as the orb in his mouth amplified the sound he was making. When the Ekans began getting close, Sandile panicked and Ryan managed to get a hold on her. After she had recovered her nerves, the Sandile opened her mouth wide to chomp down hard on the Ekan's hide with a skillful Bite. Cole wasn't even shouting commands now- he trusted his Pokémon's instincts enough to let them handle the opposing parties without accidentally harming them or cause too much injury. ---- As he entered the chilly lake(though he was mostly immune to the cold by now), Harry noticed the egg wiggle slightly when there was water. "Lower egg into water," he stated, quickly placing his bag down and lowering the egg slowly into the lake. Harry! No! The egg's an egg and if it hatches it might drown! exclaimed Schutzen, wiggling around anxiously at his owner- what was he thinking, putting a growing Pokémon into something potentially dangerous to it? Kate preened herself, her ears too engaged in the surroundings to notice what her owner was up to. After all, she had just saved them from a stampede- it was the least she could do. ---- A Charmander was walking along the path, and noticed the duo walk out. His flame was visibly larger than others, signaling it might be due to evolve soon. The squishy worm-thing was new to him and seemed harmless- perhaps once he beat up that worm-thing the human held, he could evolve soon. "Hey!" he shouted at Michi in English, "Let's fight!" After his shout in his language to the Goomy, he took a fisticuffs stance, doing a few mock punches at the Goomy. It didn't seem to be able to take a few hits, let alone a barrage from an over leveled Pokémon like himself.

Michi had just been thinking of heading towards the Pokemart when she heard the challenge. She turned to focus on the Charmander, her eyes rounding in surprise at meeting one so soon and suddenly. Meyrin gave the fire lizard a equally curious look, wriggling in Michi's arms.
"Sure, under one rule~ Please don't hurt Meyrin too much. We've just started our journey and I don't want her to get too badly injured just when we're starting off." Michi agreed after looking down at Meyrin who nodded with a bright look before hopping out of Michi's arms, landing with a plop and slithered forward, giving the Charmander a bright look.
"Let's have a fun battle~ I'm Meyrin, and my trainer is Michi~" The gooey dragon gave Charmander a bright, extremely happy smile while preparing for the fight. Both trainer and pokemon felt their hearts beating faster from their first battle, Michi knowing and remembering all of the moves that Meyrin had. She wondered if she should tell Meyrin to start off with Poison Tail, worried about accidentally poisoning the Charmander but also aware that the Pokemart SHOULD have antidotes if she could get there fast enough.

The Charmander ignored the weird worm thing as it began talking, charging at the Goomy with flames sprouting from his mouth in an Ember attack. He released the small balls of fire at the Goomy, watching as they exploded around the Goomy before he jumped into the air in the hope of landing a Scratch at the Goomy. All he wanted was to get this over and done with, no matter how polite they were being he only wanted to evolve as soon as possible and niceties never sat well with aggressive little dragons.

Meyrin was startled by how aggressive and quick the Charmander attacked, not liking some of her membrane evaporating slightly with the heat of the Ember attack. She puffed up a bit, waiting for Michi's command before attacking.
"Meyrin, use Bubble! And then prepare to use Poison Tail." The red-haired trainer half-ordered, half-chirped, watching as the small dragon inhaled deeply before letting out several bubbles aimed towards the Charmander, Meyrin aiming for his eyes to possibly try and blind him temporarily. She started flattening herself slightly at noticing the Charmander was preparing to try and scratch her. She knew that kicks and punches might not hurt too badly, but claws made her nervous.

As the weak bubbles made contact, the Charmander swerved with gymnastic ability to avoid the Bubbles making contact with his flame. He used his claws to pop the bubbles before coming at the Goomy with a Scratch. To his shock and horror, the Charmander's whole arm got lodged in the Goomy's body the moment he made contact with the flattened worm creature. The sticky goo made it nearly impossible for him to extricate his arm. "Help! What is this sorcery!" shrieked the Charmander, using his other arm to scratch at air futilely while trying to remove his arm from the odd worm. One could infer that poor Charmander was trapped in what appeared to be a sticky situation- and Poison Tail on a worm that didn't look like it had a tail sounded disturbing to state the least.

Michi watched in shock at how the charmander swerved so amazingly well to avoid the bubble attack, impressed by how talented the fire type was at popping the bubbles. She was about to try and suggest Meyrin use Tackle to try and dodge the charmander when the scratch landed, Michi blinking at the freaking out Pokemon's response.
"Meyrin is a goomy~ You've never seen one before? Goomys are really sticky and stuff, and they're so squishy~ They're also a dragon type Pokemon~ I think the exact classification is "Soft Tissue Pokemon" or something like that?"
Meyrin nodded along with Michi's words, eyes bright even as she stayed stuck around the charmanders arm, giggling a bit at the weird sensation.
"Yep~ It's normal for me to get things stuck to me~ Sorry, I should've warned you." Meyrin chirped before she began glistening with a ominous deep purple tinge, preparing her Poison Tail attack while the Charmander was distracted with trying to free himself. She did seem like she'd get unstuck fast if the Charmander shook hard enough.

The Charmander wiggled even harder when the Goomy glowed purple, too preoccupied to hear what both the human and the worm was saying. At last, the Charmander managed to wiggle his paw free and lunged, trying to avoid the Poison Tail but to no avail. He knew Ember wasn't too effective, and if his whole arm got trapped every time he tried to Scratch the worm, it would take a while for him and he might even take damage. The Charmander collapsed on his knees, panting heavily from the goo and how he had to pull himself out of it.

A lone Plusle was seen in Quez's path, holding a Cheri berry in her paws and seeming to be lost. Female Plusle, level 5 Quez gasped loudly as she eyed the electric bunny, and Nip noticed. "Hey she's cute!" He retorted, whistling at it slightly, he was a little flirtatious, so his trainer had to keep him in check. "Nip! Be polite..!" she ushered, trying to hush her pokemon, before noticing it was grasping something quite hard, as if it were trying to hide something. Nip sniffed the air eagerly, "You got a Cheri Berry! Can I have some?" He quipped, and flapped over to her, waddling on the ground when he got close.

"N-No!" shouted the Plusle, gripping the berry tighter to herself and squeaking in English, "M-My b-b-b-berry!" The Plusle began to release several small warning sparks, owing to the fact that the strange bat was foreign and she hadn't seen anything like that before. Besides, it took her a while to get her berry and she wasn't about to relinquish it to some dubious Pokémon and a human, no less!

Nip seemed a little taken back by the rejection, most pokemon would share with him! "Well, You can't eat all that..!" He huffed, and pouted slightly. Quez shuffled closer to the sparking Plusle, before pausing. "Nip, Don't be so rude." She stifled, watching the pokemon carefully. It was behaving rather suspicious. The Noibat frowned and asked again, "Aww cmon, just a nibble!"
