(I'm back, sorry! ;w;)
Wyndi, I was thinking maybe Iqaluk and Kassuq could leave the North Pole together? Or perhaps they could meet up at some point after leaving?

And yeah, of course! I'll throw Kassuq your way in my next post (you haven't done an intro post yet, right?).

Would it work out for two siblings to have different elements in this era, or would that only make sense in the Republic City era?

Oh yeah, I haven't yet, sorry! I wasn't sure on where Iqaluk would be heading. Would it make sense for him to head to Ba Sing Se too?

Would it work out for two siblings to have different elements in this era, or would that only make sense in the Republic City era? It could happen, but it's very, very unlikely, and the only two elements possible would be fire and earth. (The Water Tribes don't live outside of their home regions at this point in time (with the one exception being Hama), with the Foggy Swamp Tribe isolating themselves to the point of being almost unknown.) The fire/earth thing would only occur in a Fire Nation colony of the Earth Kingdom where the two sides have gained respect for each other (obviously very rare), such as in the colony Yu Dao: elsewhere, any Fire Nation dweller would look down on Earth Kingdom citizens, whereas the Earth Kingdom citizens would resent/hate the Fire Nation for conquering them. Only with the establishment of the United Republic did people from the different nations/kingdoms/tribes start mingling.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I was just trying to figure out what I was going to do with Faye and Casper, but I think I'll give them both earthbending so they can show off their different styles haha And now I must descend into the baby name websites to find suitable replacement names for them

In a fan fic I used to work on, Wajin was like a guardian to two sisters who were water/fire bending siblings. Their dad fell in love with a waterbending prisoner and helped her escape and they ran away and started a family, but after they were caught they were executed. The girls escaped but were being hunted down so when they were found Wajin happened to be there and protected them. The younger sister, Lani, was a master firebender who acted more like the elder between the sisters, and then the older sister, Taimane, was a waterbender who had very minimal skills and eventually learned to waterbend after Wajin showed her sandbending techniques and used his vast knowledge to show her waterbending form and explained the spirituality of it.
I just thought I would mention it while we're on the subject because I kind of miss my fan fic but lost all the files.

IntricatePolygons it would make sense for him to head there, sure! i mean everyone's going to be on the move at some point and we can figure out the main destination later (though my thoughts is that they'll be tracking rumors of where the avatar has been). so yes, have him head to ba sing se
clef that sounds like a really neat story ;o; definitely one of those rare, rare cases in this time where there are multiple bender types in a family.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that I finally made my post yesterday! (Whooooooo!)I wasn't exactly sure about the geography around Ba Sing Se, but judging from what it looked like during {Spoiler} the part when Azula and her giant Fire Nation drill attacked the outer wall, I sort of assumed it was mostly a barren field. I'm not sure if it's like that around the entire wall, though.

woohoo!!
from what we've seen, there's lots of barren land around ba sing se, but considering it's a huge city there's lots out there that is up for interpretation & creative liberty, so that is totally fine!
