Okay so, I'm gonna bring in an antagonist, I think. Either one who will infiltrate a group/pretend they're all for helping the avatar but not, or if anyone thinks maybe making like a triad/group of villians out to stop either the avatar or our group(s) that's an option too.
So as inarticulate as possible, would you guys be interested in making a little villain group at all?

Yes for villain group! We could combine the two ideas and have the entire group infiltrate (so long as the group isn't ridiculously large), too.

Ahh yes great idea as well! If it's not ridiculously large that can totally work! I'm definitely working on a firebender for this group atm, bringing in another lady to try and even out the ratio a bit.

I should probably rewatch the first season of ATLA just to refamiliarize myself with a lot of things since it's been a while since I watched it.
Iqaluk would probably try to help bring in more fish by making waves but would probably nearly drown anyone in the vicinity. "Whoops."
I think a group of villains would be pretty cool! But I don't think I'd be very good at roleplaying as one.

H-have I ever used Iris with any of you? No? Good.
name: Yuan-Wei Nangong (南宮鸢尾) age: twenty-six gender: female sexuality: heteroromantic asexual bender type: earthbender
appearance: Because she believes presentation is a reflection of the self, Yuan-Wei devotes a lot of her time to the care of her long, dark brown hair and her smooth golden skin. Her dark green eyes, she can't really do much for in a spa, but you can bet she takes special care to dress them up with the newest cosmetics available to bring out their luster and color. As befitting of someone from a noble family, she is most often seen in classic, well tailored dresses adorned with intricate gold embroidery, paired with an elaborate golden hairpiece decorated with pins and fresh flowers. To further flaunt her wealth, Yuan-Wei usually wears a tasteful necklace of gold and jewels as well, and carries around a green parasol to protect herself from the sun.
Of course, little of this is appropriate for hunting down the Avatar. In preparation for the long journey, Yuan-Wei has reduced her skincare regimen to the basics, traded in her elegant dresses and hairpieces for simple tunics and hair ties, and saddled herself with her favorite weapon, a naginata.
personality: hardworking, determined, ambitious, fair, social, friendly, pleasant-tempered, single-minded when working towards a goal, subjective, traditional, believes that laws exist for a reason, stubborn, proud, fond of wealth and luxury, slightly classist, vain, sometimes judgmental, loves the thrill of intimidating others, has little problem with social hierarchies so long as she comes out on top (but also believes that everyone deserves at minimum a comfortable, happy life)
interests & hobbies: ancient writing systems, history, trying out new spa treatments and clothing, drinking, socializing with those in the same social circle
history/background: Born into a Ba Sing Se noble family whose wealth came primarily from past generations of hard work and merchandry, Yuan-Wei was well aware of the power (and the luxury) money could buy even as a little girl. As a result, her most defining childhood dream became amassing a fortune of her own: merely sitting pretty on inherited wealth was distasteful, and inherited wealth, she believed, wasn’t really hers to start with since she hadn’t earned it herself. And it was a kind of wealth that was dependent on too many factors beyond her control to be reliable anyway.
Although Yuan-Wei was close to all her family members growing up, she was (very obviously) her father’s favorite due to their shared passion for studying ancient writing systems. Thus, her father was sincerely disappointed when his daughter announced that she wanted to go to university and pursue a different, more lucrative path: if she had the privilege and the resources to study what she genuinely loved for the rest of her life, he asked repeatedly, then why didn’t she do so? Why worry about making more money? The argument put a great strain on their relationship, and the two still hadn’t reconciled (much to everyone’s grief) by the time Yuan-Wei's father passed away a few months before Yuan-Wei’s twenty-sixth birthday. To make matters worse, her inheritance caused a rift between Yuan-Wei and her mother - Yuan-Wei’s mother argued that Iris hardly deserved any of the family fortune at all, not when she had fallen so far from her father’s good graces and caused him regret right up until the end. Unwilling to part with her money and frustrated with her mother, Yuan-Wei finally cut herself off from all of her family members aside from her older brother.
Due to their social status and the Dai Li's long-running conspiracy to keep the citizens of Ba Sing Se in the dark, the Nangong family had remained untouched by - and ignorant of - the war raging on outside the city walls for all of Yuan-Wei's life. Only when Yuan-Wei, at age eighteen, arrived at Ba Sing Se University to study business and political science did the first news about the Fire Nation invasions reach her. While from then on, she made a point to keep an ear out for any more news (what else didn't she know? who else had lied to her?), the Dai Li prohibiting all public talk about the war didn't bother her in the way it bothered several other students - after all, to her, it was a good way of keeping the peace. If everyone knew about the war, then things couldn't go on as productively and harmoniously as they were, and besides, there was no need for everyone to know if the war didn't even affect them. It might not have been ideal, but it was what was really needed, wasn't it? And so Yuan-Wei's first thought upon hearing about the Avatar's return was that his stirring up trouble would only cause more harm to everyone than good.
other: • family: mother, father (deceased), brother (age thirty-two) • themes >> “Opening” - A.R. Rahman (Elizabeth: The Golden Age: Music from the Motion Picture) >> “antinomie” - Kajiura Yuki (Tsubasa -RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE- OST: Future Soundscape III) >> “Overkill” - Apocalyptica (MAG: S.V.E.R. OST) • Yuan-Wei is fairly competent in the use of most polearms. • She has a pet cat owl named Xiao Nu Wang (小女王, lit. little queen). • Her favorite food are elegant little cookies.

Danny Oh, Iqaluk. So good for re-enacting the Titanic; not so good for fishing....

Wyndi accepted! C:
Okay, so I'm bringing in two firebenders, whoops? Here's the first one: name: natsumi ito age: twenty four gender: female sexuality: bisexual bender type: firebender
appearance: Natsumi is slender with those cold, golden eyes that most people in the fire nation tend to have. She has cat-like features and reflexes to match. Her dark black hair is long, reaching midway down her back. The left side of her head is shaved underneath, which is shown when her hair is pulled back in to a high ponytail or braid. Natsumi stands at 5’6”, though with her attitude and posture she seems to tower over most. Natsumi tends to wear a lot of deep reds and golds - as befit of a noble firebender, though on her travels she’s taken to dressing in whatever is in style in whatever nation she’s in. Keeping up with the nation’s latest style is important to her. personality: intelligent, calculating, has anger issues, cynical, fearless, independent, judgmental, intellectual, secretive, responsible, likes to keep an air of mystery, excitable, self-reliant, deceptive, reluctant to let anyone in, loyal and trustworthy to those she lets in and trusts (which are very few), warm and funny when she opens up, has a slight romantic side to her she doesn’t show often, can come off as cold. interests & hobbies: keeping up with the latest fashion trends, sewing and designing, practicing her bending, travel, sparring, drinking, judging people.
history/background: She grew up in the Fire Nation Capital, born to a noble family. Though if you ask her where she grew up on her travels, she’ll say in one of the Fire Nation Colonies. Her family is a noble, rich one - though not what you might call happy. The marriage between her parents was always a strained one, though they were all about keeping up appearances. Separation was not something that happened, so they made it work through lies and smiling through their teeth. They were often at events or fundraisers for the Fire Nation War, leaving Natsumi to herself most of the time to practice her fighting and bending techniques. She was quite gifted, and in the short time her parents were around they took notice. They sent her to the finest masters so she could further her training over the years.
She even attended one of the most prestigious universities in the Fire Nation, studying martial arts and teaching techniques. At university, there was different talk about the war - different ideals and some daring to say that the war was one sided and not what they knew. Natsumi wanted to figure out for herself if the war is what the Fire Lord says, or if it’s as one-sided as some of the whispers say. That and with talk of the Avatar returning, her peaceful life could be threatened, and it could end up causing more harm than good. other: family: father (firebender), mother (firebender), younger sister (19 - firebender)

I'm thinking of slightly revising Kip in some ways now that I think about it because he was really a character designed for LOK and trying to do what I did was just really bad of me to put a character in a new setting with very little revision whatsoever. I think I'm going to change up things about outfits and things to make him more obviously an Earth Nation citizen even if he is a rare (non-swamp) water bender. I am hoping this might smooth out as I start to RP as him though maybe. And I am planning on making a female character (le gasp, this is in fact a rarity for me though you'd hardly know it anymore since out of all my current characters in all RPs I participate in, three are female and fourish are male...maybe five or six? It's hard to keep track plus some are really borderline inactive and I'm tired) that might be borderline chaotic neutral, maybe will tag along with the villains, we'll see. Anyway, sorry for disappearing but hopefully I'll get back to RPing again ASAP!!

Pandora That would definitely be interesting, having casper in part of the villain group!
mdf2711 that's fine! i'd love to see you make a girl for the group, too!
Also to both of you, I'd prefer that before you make another character or that you at least get your intros up.
