Among the ooze that was Muk's body, a few objects caught the light.
Aspen returned Penny to her ball, allowing her to rest after the rough battle. He stepped forward to investigate the Muk further, only to find a few treasures sticking out from its body. He plucked them slowly as to avoid waking the beast and left the scene. Knowing that these items had to be something interesting or special for a Muk to try and consume them, he sat down and took a moment to scan each one in his Pokedex. He also retrieved the orb he had found earlier on the ground and the small stone that Penny had given him only a little while before the sludge showdown. "Okay," he said to himself quietly, laying each of his items down on the curb and sitting before them. It was an odd sight, but would get the job done, "Alright, a Toxic Orb. Inflicts poison on whoever touches it? Not sure how that'll be useful, but whatever. Shiny Stone. Oh! So once Budew evolves it can evolve again using this stone!" Aspen paused for a moment, thinking on the Budew. He still hadn't named it or released it from its ball. It would probably be unhappy, but any Pokemon caught through battle would likely feel the same. After this, if he wanted it to be part of the team he would have to spend some time with it. "Alright, alright. So these three. I know you, you're a Lum Berry. Pretty nice, but I'll have to save it for later. A... King's Rock? Another evolutionary item? Poliwhirl and Slowpoke? Nope, I don't think I've met any of those. And a... uh, Shed Shell? To help switching in battles? Alright, I'm sure I'll find a use for that." He swept all of the items back into his bag, careful to keep the small cloth wrapped around his Toxic Orb. After a while of walking, he assumed his Pokemon had full recovered from the Muk battle- or that Nessa had at least regained consciousness and could recover with Synthesis. The trainer released Penny and Nessa from their balls, then the Budew after a bit of hesitation. It let out a little, slightly aggravated chirp at the trainer. "Okay, calm down. We're getting ice cream, is that fine?" Aspen said to the group, pointing to a nearby vendor on the street. Penny and Nessa let out an excited sound, but the Budew turned its cheek to him. He thought back to the flower shop where it had been so picky that it needed imported water just to feel cared for. "Then where? Where am I supposed to feed you?" Aspen asked annoyed. The Budew looked toward a fancier ice cream chain a few stores down the street and shook its bulb. Hoping to create some kind of bond between the two, the trainer agreed. They each ordered their own treat from the fancy shop (the Pokemon ordering their own smaller size which was thankfully offered by the shop) and ate on the street outside, Budew finally seeming slightly happy. "I should just name you Annoying and Needy, I guess. It would make sense," Aspen joked quietly. He thought back to someone else he found exactly the same at home, a little cousin, and quickly placed that name with the Budew, "You'll be Dakota, Koda for short. Alright? I'm really just not comfortable calling you by your species." The small plant rolled its eyes, but was fine with the idea. It didn't harm him at all. The group remained on the street after finishing their ice cream, reflecting on the recent battle. [[Event?]]

a nearby buzzing sound could be heard. It was as if an electrical wire was exposed and giving off electricity. upon investigation, a silver floating pokemon was found to be the source. clef A crowd of people gathered around a lone pokemon. It's wide eyed stare captivated the audience to the point that they hadnt noticed that they were blocking the whole street. One little girl decided to walk up to the pokemon in an attempt to pet it. As she stroked its fur, she accidently moved its ear, exposing a ring shaped organ. Without notice, a wave of psychic energy waved across the area, cracking and even shattering nearby windows. As if a switch had been turned, the crowd that had been so loving towards the creature were now shouting angrily at it. Though it was hard to see past the crowd, the small pokemon appeared frightened.

The odd pokemon levitated slowly towards the center of city, Lumiose Tower. Pokemon found: Approximate level: 18 Special Move(s): N/A Aspen and his group had just finished their treats when the Magnemite appeared. It floated not past them, but directly above the group and through a short alleyway to the other side. Every few feet it paused to look around, even when there was nothing to be seen. It seemed the creature was seeing something the rest of them clearly could not. The way it levitated and bobbed in the air also seemed to have some sort of rhythm that followed the screw on its head. Whenever the screw would slow or speed up, the small Pokemon would stop in its tracks to adjust its bobbing speed. What the Magnemite was actually doing, however, was following the electrical and magnetic waves output by Lumiose Tower. Koda stepped up from the curb and ran toward the creature. It let out a small chirp, but it didn't seem to pay any attention. It had its eye centered forward and gathered itself each time it felt a new wave from the tower. Aspen and the others in his team chased after the Budew and Magnemite, catching up quickly after all of the stops the Electric-type was forced to make. Despite the Pokemon being outside of Aspen's usual knowledgeable type range, he quickly placed it as a Magnemite. Whenever a trainer with one of them passed through Floaroma he remembered the buzz they made about being able to eventually train it into something much stronger at Mt. Coronet. He wasn't quite sure what, but he knew it had to be a third stage evolution. After a bit of chasing and Aspen becoming frustrating with being unable to stop Koda from chasing, he stepped in front of the small floating ball. It paid no attention, floating directly into his chest. It took a moment of trying to force itself forward before it realized completely what had happened. It charged its magnets and shocked the trainer with what would be equivalent to a bit of static electricity. Aspen stumbled a few steps back, but stepped forward again. Penny and Nessa stood at ready, sensing the determination of both their trainer and the strange Pokemon. "Koda, we can't just chase Pokemon," he started. Koda let out a loud sigh and stood in his place, unable to be anything but difficult and stubborn at the current moment. The Magnemite drew back and jolted forward, pushing Aspen to the ground and shooting it toward its destination. Without having realized it, the group had actually chased it to Lumiose Tower. Koda charged at the Magnemite after realizing his trainer was dropped to the ground and tried to attack. After it managed to gain some ground ahead of the opponent he stopped and gathered energy in his bud, releasing a cluster of glowing orbs at the Magnemite. The Mega Drain barely damaged it, but managed to catch its attention. It let loose a Magnet Bomb that exploded directly at Koda's feet. The Pokemon was sent tumbling back, but charged forward again. He tried multiple times to strike with Mega Drain, but after the Magnemite became keen to the relentless ignorance of the small Pokemon he began to just Light Screen each attack. After a few, the Budew was tired and stumbled back to Aspen. The trainer stood up and stared at the small Pokemon. "So, why there?" he asked, gesturing toward Lumiose Tower. The Magnemite let out a small zip and gave a delighted twirl. While the electric environment itself was fun, it seemed what it truly enjoyed was being able to surf the different waves in the area and use minimal effort to levitate. "Okay, I guess that's nice," Aspen said sarcastically, not quite comprehending what the Magnemite was trying to convey. He then pulled out his Pokedex to take a quick scan, curious of what the device may say about the Pokemon. The creators of the device had thought ahead to any electric Pokemon disturbing its operation and designed it to resist their electromagnetic waves, but the waves that it generated attracted the Magnemite. It swirled around him when he pulled it out and tried to dive in for a closer look. This had been one of the few times a device did not malfunction when it flew close. It was extremely intriguing. Aspen gave a quick smile to the small Pokemon. He had no understanding of why it was floating around him and simply deemed it to be extra friendly. When he began to walk away, it followed. Again, he took this as some sort of gesture of friendship and friendliness. After a few minutes had passed with the Magnemite following he stopped to analyze the situation. "So... what? Are you just being nice?" he asked. The Pokemon gave no response. Its eye was locked on the pocket in his bag where he had deposited the Pokedex, but Aspen was oblivious to this. "Are you gonna attack me? Are you just tracking me? You don't get to take up my airspace without a good reason," he said, getting frustrated quickly. He reached back to pull a Pokeball from his bag. When his arm went back, he saw the Pokemon get visibly excited. After Aspen revealed it was a Pokeball and not a Pokedex, its excitement faded a bit, "Either join us or stop being a creep, alright?" Magnemite Captured!
Lonely Nature Increase attack Decrease defense Bio: Magnemite is a glutton for electricity and will go about finding it even at the risk of its own safety. This can easily be seen by its rather negligent manner of searching, usually finding itself in unfamiliar territory or in precarious situations. Even moreso, while it is usually calm when satiated, it can become rather violent when someone or something is actively depriving it of food. Because of its nomad like lifestyle up until now, it has never really made any friends.
A mysteriously large shadowy figure appeared behind a nearby pillar. gleaming eyes could be seen from the top, and its movements were swift as it ran between various hiding places. It was unclear if the shadow was timid or merely cautious. For such a large figure however, its footsteps were surprisingly silent. Had the clouds not moved from blocking the sun, it may have gone undetected for much longer. Once the sun shined through the blanket of clouds that hid it, it revealed, almost specifically shining on, the shadowy figure. The figure jumped in surprise. "he...hello." He was a rather tall teen, almost 6'2 in height. He had broad shoulders and was a bit overweight. His short hair curled tight like that of a mareep, and his posture gave off a very timid air, that didnt match his appearance at all. Most of all, despite his large physique, he easily blended in with his surroundings, almost as if he was transparent. "I-I'm Lucas." His voice was monotone and he was purposely avoiding eye contact. He didnt seem comfortable at all with speaking with another person. "I am a trainer from the meetings of the professors. I saw your battle with that muk a little bit ago." He began twiddling his thumbs as he looked at the ground. "...You were great. I could barely defeat the muk that I battled, but you won so easily." He finally looked up a bit to just barely meet the eyes of the other boy. "I want to be better. I want to be stronger for my pokemon." His large frame bent in half suddenly as he bowed. "P-PLease have a battle with me!"

Manta's musings were interrupted by the sounds of squawking and ruffling feathers. He turned to see an unfamiliar bird like pokmon demanding access into a building. it looked troubled, but He could barely form out a plan to investigate before he heard a myriad of screams and crashing noises. Though he didnt like the correlation, the louder scream did get his attention.
He ran in the direction to see what it was, making sure to take rhythmic steps to ease strain on his heart. He went out into the open street to see grimer from the alola region pilfering goods from the townspeople. Upon closer inspection, they seemed to be either eating what they took or taking it away. Watches, phones, books, whatever; they were gettting whatever they could get their hands on. Until recently, things had been rather clean. He hadnt thought about it before but a similar situation happened in Alola. Grimer and Muk, who had originally only cleaned up the trash in the area, became very violent when they didnt have access to their food source. He wasn't sure of how it was handled back then, only noting that many grimer lived near the trash dump, but he had to do something about what was happening now. Before he could think any firther, his Holocaster rung, surprising him.
"Can you hear me? Oh boy." he knew what it was even if he hadnt looked. It was professor Sycamore. "Lumiose city is under attack! It appears that the grimer that came from the Alola region are running wild! They were originally accepted because they consumed the trash in the area, but with not enough trash remaining for their sustenance, they have turned to simply taking man made things and consuming them!" This much he understood. "We need the help of you trainers. All of you. Please take care of this mess!" Manta chuckled to himself a bit. The professor was a bit comical under stress.
"Alright then, let's go!" Manta shouted. Ralts calmly cheered him on as he carried her to the scene. Manta looked around to check how he could assist. He saw a few of the trainers from before in the meeting. They were all fighting fiercely. He couldnt leave it all to them. As he thought this, two alolan grimer crossed his path, apparently eyeing his holocaster. Each one lunged, using a pound attack. Ralts jumped forward to protect manta, while her trainer already had a pokeball out to handle the other. He released his pokemon, Ditto. In an instant, even before touching the ground, the curious ditto instantly transformed into one of the grimer through its imposter ability, taking in the attack of the opposing pokemon. oddly enough, it seemed to be smiling at the oppurtunity to battle. Ditto opened its mouth and instantly released a few chunks of mud, slapping the opponent with a bit of mud. Malie however was having a bit of trouble. She instinctively used confusion to deter her target, but alolan grimer merely shook it off unharmed. It was a dark type after all. After taking another pound attack, Maie retaliated with a double team, firing disarming voice with the copies. The original MAlie used the confusion to get close enough for disarming voice to do real damage.Malie's opponent fell back, crashing to the ground. Malie allowed her doubles to disappear, a little too early it seemed, as the opposing grimer fired off an acid spray! Even MAnta knew it would be bad to get caught witht that. Manta closed is eyes, not wanting to see Malie get hurt, but was suprised not to hear any cries in pain. When he opened his eyes to peek, he saw Sally, the Salandit. She blocked the attack with her body, taking considerably less damage than MAie would have. With a wave of her tail, Sally showed her excitement. She quickly fired off a smog attack, allowing it to encircle its target. She then followed up with an ember attack, The highly flammable smog ignited instantly, causing a small explosion around the two pokemon. When the dust settled, the two grimer were shown to be injured. Sally smirked and loked over at Malie, hinting that she was acting superior.
Malie used heal pulse in Sally and Ditto to mend their wounds while Manta gave a potion to Malie. The opponets had barely gotten themselves together before their nect move. The two grimer turned tail and ran back towards the manhole cover. Manta gave chase, not wanting them to heal as well and simply come back. Before he had a chance to stop them however, a larger pokemon showed itself. From the manhole cover that was originally its target, an alolan muk oozed its way out of the smaller opening. It dripped as it moved and glared around until its eyes met Manta's. It didnt take an expert to know that he would have to battle it to get anywhere.
Showdown Battle?Mizumanta The Muk retreated back into the manhole, leaving behind a trail of ooze. It looked as if some of the larger puddles of sludge had something inside of them. Items Found: (TM 59)Replay
~~~~Aspen was thoroughly confused, to say the least. A strange Pokemon who he originally followed began to follow him, then offered itself to join his team. As the ball shook a third time, he immediately released the Magnemite. The red flash of light quickly began to twirl around the trainer again as it searched for the electric device. It was taken off course by a nearby street post, where it was able to satiate its hunger and keep itself from any further distraction. Within a few moments, it came to terms with its fate. It was used to being alone, so having a group to travel with and take care of it would not be terrible. Nervousness was taking a hold of its mind, however, and it began to twirl around the group again.
Then, a silhouette emerged from the dark as if it was peeled from the shadows of the buildings. Aspen was taken off guard by the it. He was used to recognizing oddities in the rhythmic movement of nature, but not in the city. The stone walls and paved roads made everything thing seem so still and lifeless. The sounds there had no pattern, no reason. When the boy originally approached him he jumped, but quickly made himself comfortable as he picked up on his shy demeanor. "Oh, yeah, that Muk was nasty," Aspen started, "but my team did all the work, I just helped. I'd be happy to try a battle with you though!"
Alolan Muk Event Battle A large and overbearing muk emerged from the manhole, looming over him and his pokemon. "eh?" Manta was speechless. Its body was dripping what Manta could only describe as ooze. As expected, it did not smell bad like that of a normal muk, but its crystallized poisons immediately caught its attention. Even in Alola, these were rare and best to be avoided. "It...It's a muk!" Malie and ditto creeped back a bit from the intimidating pokemon. "I dont think we have ever faced one before, even in alola!" Manta began to take a few steps back, but stopped when he saw Sally, his salandit, step forward to face the pokemon. Instead of fear or caution like the others had, she seemed excited, licking her lips at the opportunity to shine. "err...Sally, can you handle it?" Sally merely grinned and went to it, skittering around the muk The larger pokemon did have size on Sally, but she definitely had speed. Once she got out of the Muk's line of sight, Sally fired a poison gas attack, engulfing the other pokemon. Normally, attacks like poison gas would do nothing to another poison type like muk, but Sally and her kind had a rather potent poison that could affect nearly all pokemon, regardless of typing. it was clear that muk wasnt feeling well. Its eyes had become a bit heavy and its breathing had become heavy. Regardless, it managed to take in a deep breath, glowing brightly for just a few seconds. Its body appeared bigger than before. "Stockpile?" Manta wondered. That would make it tougher to beat. He had to think of a way around increased defenses. Almost as if she were reading his mind, Salandit spun back around to the front of the opponent, and right next to Manta. She lifted her tail as it began to shimmer. Her mouth opened wide as if she were preparing to bite down on a meal. Between her jaws, what looked like a flaming orb collected energy. It grew bigger and bigger as it concentrate its power. Once it had grown to about the size of Sally's head, she fired the flaming orb forward, momentarily engulfing the muk in purple flames. The flames dissipated quickly, separating themselves from teh attributes of true flames, leaving a fatigued muk. It attempted to grow in size again, taking a deep breath. Its body grew again, now with it being almost a third larger now. It seemed to be planning something, but Sally and Manta werent going to let it get its way. As Muk began swinging its large arms towards the group in a monstrous rage, Manta and Sally moved in sync to dodge. Each of them ran on opposite sides of Muk until they were both at its back. Its poison fatigue kept it from keeping up and turning in time. Manta pointed forward towards the back of the Muk. "Sally, use Dragon Rage!" Mimicking her actions from before, Sally collected energy once more, firing a final flaming orb at the muk. The opposing pokemon was engulfed in flames once again, succumbing to its injuries. The large Muk quivered in fear at the unscathed Salandit, who merely smirked back at it, almost bragging about its superiority. As it fled to the sewers, a few items could be seen left behind. The grimer that appeared subordinate to the muk had all ran to follow it, calming the surrounding area now that the offenders had gone.
"Wow." Manta said. It was all that he could say. Sally had taken out such an opposing foe completely unscathed. It was quite surprising how useful her speed and versatility were. He knew that she wouldnt have been able to take too many attacks, even from a normal pokemon, so this was even more nerve wracking and amazing. Manta bent down and smiled wide for his pokemon. "You were all great!" Sally gave a superior gaze to Malie, gloating on her success, much to Malie's frustration. "I am so proud of all of you!" Manta gave his pokemon a collective hug, finally able to rest.
Later, Manta and his pokemon had gone to relax at the pokemon center. The other Grimer were already taken care of by the other trainers, and now the police and restoration crews were about the city, fixing the damage that the grimer had left. Manta had found a few things after the battle. He found a magost berry, a wiki berry, and a TM. he had carefully put them away and was ready to continue. The performance from earlier had sparked a bit of a fire in him. He didnt feel so much like a burden to the mission they had been given, and was becoming more confident. Manta gathered up his things and readied himself to leave and explore. "C'mon guys, let's go."
Sun, upon, seeing the small kitten pokemon, was admiring its appearance with the crowd before it unleashed a strong, yet seemingly accidental psychic attack. While most of the spectators seemed scared, Sun was a pokemon trainer among them. She grabbed a pokeball on her belt and tossed it forward in a declaration of battle against Espurr. While her Cottonee was forming out of the bluish-white energy, Sun scanned the cat with her pokedex to learn more about it. "So you're a psychic type pokemon native to the kalos region, huh?" She spoke to herself while pondering her best course of action. She decided it would be best to test its reflexes and abilities. "Cottonee, Leech Seed!" She called out. Her pokemon absorbed power from the earth around it before spitting out a flurry of seeds, but the opposing pokemon launched out a psychic attack that repelled all of them. The blue wave of energy nullified their forward trajectory and made them fall onto the ground and wither. Cottonee began to fly higher, preparing a razor leaf on its own accord, but another strange attack from Espurr pulled him to the ground and he collided with it making a loud thudding sound. Her pokemon now appeared to lack the ability to levitate and drift on the winds like it had! Sun had to do some thinking, and fast, because Espurr's psychic abilities let it easily counter her special attacks, and if she switched to Burmy he didn't have the durability to withstand psychic attacks, at least not when dealing with a foe they never met. "Cottonee, we can treat it like a chingling back home! Their confusion attack isn't strong enough to protect from every angle, only the front or back!" Sun called out. Her Cottonee understood. "Now Substitute and Razor Leaf!" Sun commanded confidently. Cottonee began to glow with energy and launched out a few cotton balls that formed together instead of attaching to the enemy and slowing it down. As they came together they formed another Cottonee and were able to act under the accord of her own pokemon. "So this is the true power of substitute." The trainer said to herself. Cottonee chirped and then both it and the clone began to launch razor-sharp leaves from the front and the back at their foe. Espurr, being low-leveled and not used to battle, couldn't repel both attacks, and ended up taking both razor leaves out of hesitation. It sustained a lot of damage, but still kept the will to fight. It began to shout as it charged at the clone and swiped with its claws, scratching and destroying the cotton clone, then turning its attention to the real cottonee and unleashing another uncontrolled wave of psychic energy. "Cottonee, use Growth!" Sun shouted. Cottonee grew larger by absorbing solar energy and was able to withstand the attack. It seemed the low-leveled Espurr wasn't gonna be able to fight off its attackers so easily! "Cottonee, we're gonna catch this pokemon and teach it how to hone its abilities! USe stun spore!" Sun requested, and her pokemon obeyed. It scattered a cloud of golden dust, that the Espurr was unable to repel due to the limit of its psychic powers. it began to feel sluggish and tired from the spore attack. Sun grabbed a pokeball and tossed it! (Catch?) -- MizumantaA pikachu in the area perked its ears and stared at the appraoching trainer, not wishing to battle but also curious about the scent coming from his bag. (Pikachu, level 16. [[will post link and summary/end after the battle]]
Aspen geared up for the battle, standing strong and thinking on who he was going to send out. Knowing that Penny had been showing she was fairly competent in battle lately, he sent her out to open. The enemy trainer sent out a bug as well, something yellow. Aspen's Pokedex registered it as a Joltik, but he had little time to read and gather enough information to be helpful in battle. "Please help me, Joltik." The opponent murmured. The Pokemon seemed to begin the fight the second it exited the Pokeball, carefully jumping around the battle field from side to side. "Alright Penny, we've got to start off strong," he started, trying to project confidence, "Try.... Supersonic!" The enemy Joltik's hops around the field became clear. What had originally seemed like an overactive Pokemon was in fact the small spider creating an electric field which eventually exploded into a Thunder Wave. The attack paralyzed Penny, leaving her feeling sluggish. She still managed to release the Supersonic waves, however. The sounds bounced off the walls of the buildings and created an intense sense of confusion in the enemy. "Ah... Please hand in there Joltik," The trainer said. The Joltik tried to lunge at Penny but found itself falling short and injuring itself on the pavement. "Oh gosh. Not paralysis," Aspen started, recognizing the sparks flying off his Pokemon, "Use Psybeam... if you can." Penny found herself severely handicapped by the condition. She tried to charge her antenna for the attack, but gave up after a few seconds of frustration. "It's okay Penny, give it another try!" he called out. She did, and this time was able to fully form the attack. It hit the target but was not extremely effective. "Uhm, Screech please," The opponent said, this time only slightly louder than before. Rather than fight against the sound waves, the Joltik froze in place and let the Screech loose. Its frantic hops prior to the attack had landed it facing Penny. The Venonat found itself having a hard time fully concentrating on the opponent's attacks after this. Defending against any direct hits would definitely have been difficult. "Great!" Aspen called out in response to the Psybeam connecting, "Try something else. If you can manage, Tackle!" Penny began to charge forward, but the enemy trainer gave his command rather quickly. "And now, Fury Cutter please." As the Supersonic sound waves began to fade, the Joltik dove forward with a Fury Cutter. Aspen had no knowledge of the power this attack could hold if used repeatedly. Before the team could react, another command was given, "Once more, in succession." The Venonat collided with the Joltik in a heavy Tackle, but was met with a stronger Fury Cutter again. This dance continued for a while. The Joltik was clearly faster and more agile than Penny, and without the Supersonic and having the advantage of not being confused it was able to land hit after hit. It crossed the battle field quickly, often dashing from one side to the other without Aspen or his team noticing. Within seconds Penny was knocked out from the last Fury Cutter. "Agh, that's alright Penny. N-" Aspen said, interrupted by the whirling Magnemite. It had begun its nervous twirl before because it sensed the electrical energy of the Joltik as the boy approached, but was unable to key in on where it was coming from. Now that the battle had slowed it found its opportunity to dive in and try to feast on it. It knew it would have to weaken its opponent first, however. "Oh, what? I don't even know what you do... just try, I guess?" Aspen said, completely surrendering his position as trainer in the battle. He would like to have commanded the Magnemite, but he had no time at all to learn its battle style or move set. Instead, he let it choose for itself. His only advantage seemed to be the other trainer not recognizing it as a Magnemite. The Pokemon began to charge an array of silver balls above its head. It released them quickly, each one falling straight down before converging into a single larger ball and connecting with the Joltik. Sadly for him, the Joltik was still agile enough to get in a couple Fury Cutter attacks and finish the battle quickly. Aspen returned the two defeated Pokemon to their balls to give them a moment of rest. "Well, we tried!" He said, offering a handshake to the opponent, "Good match." Battle[[Battle lost.
speshal A hand raised to greet and congratulate the larger trainer. However he was not in a position to respond. In fact, the boy who had been nothing but timid and melancholy up until now, was smiling brightly and affectionately praising his tiny bug pokemon. "You were great Joltik! I am so proud of you." the joltik cheered along with him, skittering around the larger boy's body and sucking up the static electricity. Though he had next to no confidence in his own abilities, Lucas was more than confident in his pokemon. When the focus was on them, his smile seemed make him much more approachable. Hos countenance was short lived however, as he brought himself back to the current situation. Though he wasn't as depressing as before, he easily went back to being a looming shadowy figure, stuttering and averting his gaze once more. "I-um...Thank you for the battle." He bowed once again before pulling out a TM case from his bag. "I received this from the meeting earlier but...None of my pokemon can learn it. Maybe you could use it as...as thanks." He handed over the TM. "If we-umm...If we see each other again, please...lets battle again." As he turned to walk away, a small smile could almost be seen on his face. Espurr Captured
Bio: Espurr travelled from the Lost Hotel area of Kalos to seek new experiences. This pokemon is very observant, and is more likely to wait and listen before acting. Despite this, Espurr is very quick on its feet and will act swiftly once a decision is made. This pokemon only really breaks its concentration when it is hungry, which causes Espurr to act irrationally.
speshal A hand raised to greet and congratulate the larger trainer. However he was not in a position to respond. In fact, the boy who had been nothing but timid and melancholy up until now, was smiling brightly and affectionately praising his tiny bug pokemon. "You were great Joltik! I am so proud of you." the joltik cheered along with him, skittering around the larger boy's body and sucking up the static electricity. Though he had next to no confidence in his own abilities, Lucas was more than confident in his pokemon. When the focus was on them, his smile seemed make him much more approachable. Hos countenance was short lived however, as he brought himself back to the current situation. Though he wasn't as depressing as before, he easily went back to being a looming shadowy figure, stuttering and averting his gaze once more. "I-um...Thank you for the battle." He bowed once again before pulling out a TM case from his bag. "I received this from the meeting earlier but...None of my pokemon can learn it. Maybe you could use it as...as thanks." He handed over the TM. "If we-umm...If we see each other again, please...lets battle again." As he turned to walk away, a small smile could almost be seen on his face. Item Received: TM 70-Aurora Viel "Oh, yeah. The pleasure was all mine. You did great!" Aspen said, trying to offer some sort of comfort to Lucas. While Aspen was disappointed they lost, it was nice to see another trainer who was so excited to do well and cared so much for his Pokemon. For him, it created a healthy balance with the negative feeling of losing. Then, Lucas offered him a TM. He was unsure if he should except, but when he mentioned none of his Pokemon could use it he decided to store it alongside the TM he had received earlier. The coating was a silver-blue, meaning it was an Ice-type TM. Aspen didn't know what move it was, but knew he didn't have any Ice-types currently. "Well, thank you," he said, "And I'd love to have another battle. But next time, I'm not going easy on you!" The last bit was said very jokingly as to avoid any confusion. After Lucas and his Joltik wandered away, Aspen and his remaining conscious crew continued on through Lumiose. They were unsure whether they should head for the tower or the outskirts and routes surrounding considering the Alolan threat in the city had been seemingly neutralized, but he figured he would find his way or be paged on the communicator. He took the time wondering to gather his thoughts and read up on both his Pokemon and the Joltik he encountered. Next time he would be much more prepared to fight the bug. More importantly, he would know what his Magnemite could do and hopefully how to keep it from diving into battle like that again. [[Event please?
Also, is there any place we should be heading? Now Aspen has finished the Muk battle should he be looking to leave the city?
P.S. if there are typos I'm sorry, I wrote this without my glasses on because I left them somewhere else : p]]
Malie shifted suddenly after noticing a nearby presence. She had the abilities to sense emotions after all and a new presence was bound to have them. catching MAnta's attention, the two turned to see a lone pikachu who seemed interested in them. strange indeed, as they had no major sources of electricity on them, nor any treats to speak of. Manta bent down. "Hi!" The pikachu backed off a bit out of timidity, but pressed on after a few moments. Manta noticed it leaning towards his bag. He couldn't think what it might want. His sealed snacks? His water? the berries? It was hard to tell. Malie had calmed down. so it couldn't have been a battle that it wanted. THe pikachu took a few hops towards his bag, sniffing away. It became clear what it was now. He turned to take his backpack off and opened it to reveal a pokeball. It was Sally's pokeball in fact. Manta learned that she did not like to be called upon accept for special occasions, and would often request, nonverbally of course to have her pokeball stored so that she would not be called upon too often. But what received the pikachu's attention was probably the sweet scent that she was letting loose. even through the pokeball, Sally would often get the attention of other pokemon. Sorry little guy," Manta started as a he got up. "I know it smells good, but it isnt something that you would want haha". He waved goodbye, in hopes that the mouse pokemon would understand. He looked down at Malie. You know, I bet we could find someone to battle! How about it? Manta and malie both looked excited. But with the recent events, there didnt seem to be anyone willing in the area... Near one of the gates of Lumiose, Manta caught sight of a somewhat familiar face. He was tall and muscular, and seemed to show a calm side like he did. He was in fact one of the trainers called to the meeting that he was almost late for. Although he was shy, MAnta gathered up couraged to engage the other trainer. "Uh, Howdy!" He already regretted his words. Who said howdy anymore? His face showed the same welcoming smile as he internally argued with himself about his choice of words. Battle, Speshal?
Sun picked up the pokeball containing her new partner and examined it. It got dinged a little when it hit the ground. That would be bothersome. She opened her Pokedex to read about the Pokemon and its battling capabilities. "Espurr, huh? Looks like you're compatible with substitute." Sun stated under her breath and uploaded the disk into her dex to teach the move. She knew it would come in handy, especially after seeing how well Cottonee has already learned to utilize it. It seems the disc has the ability to transfer all of the knowledge needed to perform that move. Amidst her analyzing of her pokemon, her Xtransceiver began beeping and vibrating. Sun answered.
--
"What?" Sun exclaimed, "Those Grimer are attacking the city?" She asked the professor. The trainer listened carefully and then realized she could hear people in the distance shouting. Before asking anymore questions she began running towards the sound of the commotion, with the professor still on the line. "Hello?" He asked, "Sun! Are you there?" He was confused, but eventually hung up. The girl turned a sharp corner, almost colliding with a woman but managed to slightly spin out of the way and lose her footing. She thudded onto the ground, the Burmy on her back tumbled forward. When she got up, she was face to face with a pair of the Grimer. Alright! Time to show them who's boss!
"Burmy, get up and cloak up with a trash cloak!" Sun commanded. She was being proactive, as they had faced many poisonous foes before and the metallic trash Burmy uses to make a cloak would help repel their attacks. But there were two, and Burmy likely couldn't handle them alone. As the pokemon collected fiberglass insulation, trash bag scraps, and other metal debris at a lightning pace, Sun decided to send out her new capture as a support fighter. Cottonee would be useless against poison foes. "Alright, Espurr use Confusion on both of them!" Sun shouted. The small kitten looked back for reassurance with its hand in its mouth before turning back to the piles of ooze coming towards them. She clenched her eyes shut and her ears tightened before lifting up and firing large pulsating blasts out of each ear-organ. Sun thought this would work for sure, but was shocked when the attack dematerialized when it made contact with the Grimer. "Of course! Dark types! That's why people are having trouble fighting them off!" Sun concluded, making a mental note to write that down on her tablet later.
"GrrrRRrrmMm!" The pokemon growled as they both rushed towards Espurr with open mouths, preparing to bite! "Burmy, String Shot!" Sun called out, and the bagworm pokemon jumped high in the air whilst spitting a string of silk at Espurr to grab her and pull her up into the air as well. The attack was narrowly evaded, but one of the Grimer spit a cloud of poisonous gas up towards the airborn duo, who had no way to dodge it now! Sun, however, was a clever battle tactician! There was a reason she was chosen for this mission! "Burmy, get on top of that fire escape with Espurr!" Her pokemon obeyed, but the gas was still rising towards them. The other Grimer joined in with a smog to make the cloud even more deadly! "Now Espurr! Gravity!" Sun shouted through the noxious gas that separated her from her pokemon. Espurr hesitated for a second once again, but then opened up both her ears and eyes. They each glowed light blue while the ground beneath them also took on a glow. The gas was being pulled down to the street, but it was also pulling quite hard on the fire escape they stood on. It seemed like it would last, however.
The two Grimer were having trouble moving while being pulled on by intense Gravity, but Espurr could not hold the attack for too long, so they had to act quickly! "Burmy, the gas is dissipated! Use Bug Bite!" Sun called out. Burmy leaped down from their platform to strike at one of the Grimer, stabbing at it with a glowing beak-like mouth. This sent the first Grimer backwards quite a bit, due to being rather solidified from the Gravity. The second took this opportunity to attack! It clamped down on Burmy with its fangs, which would have proved to be dangerous if it wasn't for the cloak Sun had asked him to prepare. "Shed Skin!" The trainer shouted, and Burmy jumped out of his trash cloak to escape Grimer's mouth. While the Grimer was distracted, Sun called for Espurr to come down to finish off the first one.
"Espurr, Scratch the weakened one! Burmy use Hidden Power on the distracted one!" Each pokemon executed their moves in perfect sync with their trainer's orders. A skilled trainer can draw out immense strength in even weaker pokemon! Espurr slashed the face of the first Grimer with one skillful swipe, aiming for the eyes which seemed to be the only visible organ this pokemon had. Burmy launched a barrage of white orbs at the second Grimer that all hit one after the other, creating bright flashes and crackling of energy with each collision. They seemed to be bested in this fight!
"Looks like we did it!" Sun cheered! running over to pick up her pokemon and hug them. Burmy bathed in the affection, but Espurr struggled to escape from the hug. She preferred a nice pat on the head at the most.
