There's been a lack of activity and posting for the last couple months here on RS. I myself was a part of that as well due to a busy summer work schedule but we all agreed that the fall should put us back on track. I'm not mad, I don't think anyone is, but I am curious. Is there a reason everyone's been gone? Is it just individual irl matters and problems or is there a single reason for inactivity on this board? I know some people have left notices but not nearly everyone and I'm starting to get a little worried. Is everyone alright?

I think for a lot of people, school starting back up again is the primary reason. While some people gone on vacation during their summer break, others were at least consistently on every day. Most sites I'm on experience a similar decline in activity once fall hits.
As for me, I got hired at the beginning of September (as some of you already know), and between the long hours and the killer commute, I've been too tired to check RS every day like I used to. I try to drop by during the weekend, but it seems like I'm not really missing anything anymore since activity has gone down so much.

Activity has seemed to be an issue here, along with the amount of members & lack of new blood joining (but this has been talked about before & I still think we should advertise this more). I know for myself, I'm back to working two jobs so my time home and online is fairly limited. I maybe get in an hour or two at most during the weekdays which is why I've been absent. That and not much has been happening overall so like Wyndi said I don't feel like I am missing much if I don't check it every day.

So. Do we want to try to make an attack plan? Or do we want to see if people will come back during the winter holidays?

Well I got fired so I kind of have a ton of time to roleplay again!

I'm sorry to hear that you were fired, clef! But also glad you're around for roleplaying again
As for an action plan, I'm still all for advertising. We can try tumblr or rp resource sites? There are plenty of advertising resources on tumblr as well. I (or someone else who probably has more time) can whip up a advertising image for the board?

Tumblr ads? Uhh, I hardly see those tho. How does it work? Don't quote me on this, but I think there are specific tumblrs devoted to advertising roleplay forums. People who are looking for new roleplays to join would either follow one of those blogs, or do a search in the general tags for whatever's relevant to their interests. So it's not surprising that you've never stumbled across a roleplay ad if you've never gone actively searching for one - I myself only encounter them when I search the tumblr tags for playbys and such.

I follow one called allthingsroleplay, and they post a lot of ads. Sometimes you can find some nice sites, as well as playbys. Basically what Wyndi mentioned.

I feel like not many people will join if our roleplay section stays as dead as it is. I think we should try to revive something or start something really simple up.

Come back to me, my precious X-Men.
I agree. Maybe something that almost every RPer on this site could/would participate in? Though I have no idea what's universally appealing anymore.

Yeah, we'd definitely need to beef that up, maybe honestly make it the main focus on this forum since it seems to be the most active section as it is (even if it's not incredibly bustling).
Trying to find something universally appealing is always tough, but we can definitely all make a concerted effort to make more threads and posts/etc. to get the section up and running again.

Hmmm, universally acceptable, I keep thinking of super-powered academies and that stuff, or genetic experimentation on humans. ;;

X-Men, I whisper into the night. lol
Idk, I think I've been leaning towards the one-on-one roleplay route lately, so the thought of trying to see through a group roleplay - and keep it going strong - seems kind of...painful? I'm a lazy ass. Yes, we all know. If people aren't opposed to getting a bunch of one-on-ones going, it would make it much easier to find common interests, and we'd also get to know each other's characters/writing more in depth than we would with a group roleplay.
