It's not that I'm inactive because I read through roleplays, I just don't like to respond unless I see a great opportunity. That's why I like journey rp's because I don't have to rely on a lot of interaction.
I WANT TO DO (oops caps lol) a roleplay where we get to personify objects or emotions.

Well, a one-on-one roleplay would alleviate some of that issue - if there are only two people roleplaying, it's much easier to gear your posts towards constant interaction. (I.e. you don't have to wait for the right situation to arrive to insert your character.) It would also get rid of having to wait for weeks for everyone in a roleplay to post: as long as both people are fairly committed, posting rounds go by much faster. So there are a lot of benefits, but I understand if the style isn't for everyone.
Seconding that personification idea, though! Emotions would be super fun.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of 1x1 roleplays going on but I think Clef is right that we all need to try for a simplistic roleplay that we might all enjoy. Unfortunately, I can only think of one topic that was simplistic enough to join most of us together and that was a journey RP, which as we're likely familiar with, spawned a great many more on Vdex and became somewhat of a massive sea of activity on Vdex amidst a few others (strong in following but not in numbers). The only downside to this is, of course, that Wyndi and Mini have already expressed their disinterest in RNG'd journey roleplays. Whilst I think 1x1 RPs are good to encourage everyone to RP their own desires freely and encourage relationships and practice at honing writing skills, it's more likely we need group efforts to draw in support as well. I'm certainly not opposed to more than one big, popular RP starting up on here and will make any efforts in my power to participate in anything the group or individuals eventually decide on (if it's not totally lame jk) but I want to stress my vote toward the group aspect. As for advertising on Tumblr, I know that there exist many individual blogs run with the sole purpose of promoting RP groups on and off Tumblr, some theme-oriented and some not. And I also know that some blogs and sites are willing to promote others equally, so if we were to start an affiliates board and post links for example (I assume with no obligation to join their site/RP but merely to advertise for them as they would for us) that might work out alright as well. And then I also am aware that my own blog is highly disorganized and hardly uses a tagging system but Tumblr RP blogs often use common, fandom-related tags to display information. I found a new Tumblr RP group called RATM fairly recently thanks to #deamus (omg such a cute couple) so I can attest to the fact that this actually could work. That's all I have to chip in for now. Thoughts?

I'm certainly not opposed to more journey roleplays popping up, but then the concern will become - if people aren't interested in journey roleplays and only see those kinds of roleplays being active, then will they join? So if we want one group roleplay to show off our activity, we should do something simple and more in the vein of conventional roleplays. Alternatively, if there's a way to apply the RNG element to another genre (one that's less of a niche), that would ideally give us all the pros without any of the cons.
edit Speaking of RNG-driven roleplays, I actually really liked the usage of RNG in Glaceon22's Academia of Pokémon roleplay, if anyone remembers that. If we could aim for that kind of balance (and the shorter post length), that might be easier too.

I always like one on one's as well, I'm all for doing a few of those as well! Super-power things are always fun (x-men i echo) but yeah, I'm definitely more for the one-on-one thing lately. Though tbh I have always been one to favor those.

An academy roleplay would be fun again. I just don't like 'playing school' so I'd prefer it to be like a high school sitcom where for some reason they never go to class lol.

ALSO THE AFFILIATES BOARD IS A V GOOD IDEA, mdf2711 that always helps drive traffic to a site. I missed like half of these posts in my tired stupor. All of those things re: advertising are good ideas. I say go for them!
Yeah, RNG's aren't my favorite way to roleplay, and tbh I don't remember that one Wyndi is mentioning, but I'm sure it was a good balance and wouldn't be opposed to it!
Yeah, the one thing boring about academy rp's tend to be the classes, so sitcom style where there's never really class shown is totes fine with me. Journey rps aren't that bad either, but we do want to have SOME form of diversity in terms of the roleplays on the board. There already are a lot of them, and people like seeing diverse interests in rps. If it's too focused on one thing people could get turned off really easily, since this is an all-sorts roleplaying/etc. board and not a specific plot-driven one.

If we do a journey rp let's just keep it simple and do Kanto and have it straightforward with no evil teams or crazy legendary intervention. Just a simple quest to become the champion.

re: school RPs omg yeah, I don't want to RP classes either. I didn't graduate just so I could relive my high school years in writing! (Also, Mini, you weren't in the one I was talking about, so I wouldn't worry about it. lol)
re: journey RPs If we have to end up doing one, I agree with clef: no extra plot business, just simple Kanto exploration. But what if it was set centuries in the future and all our characters were descended from Gary or Ash....

School RP sounds great if done as Clef suggests because otherwise they always grow tired and never make it far through a whole class schedule (maybe two or three days at the most it seems). But that idea sounds good, would be psyched to try it out. Would it even be supernatural/Pokemon or just groups of random people meeting and all that and basic 'leaf in the wind' high school activity? Kanto would totally be a good journey RP idea as well. And simple is also for the best. I'm all for this. As far as advertising goes, can every look for sites that would be good affiliates (maybe those already with a few affiliates) and also RP tumblr signal boosters and we can compare notes so I can be sure to reach the widest audience?

I don't mind doing another Pokémon school RP! We can just use the school as a setting or excuse for everyone to know each other.
As for affiliate sites, I don't think I know any similar boards....The ones on jcink tend to be full roleplay boards, not forums with a focus on a roleplay section. (Afaik, ours is actually becoming less and less the trend.) So it might be good to just hit up more general or Pokémon-based forums if we're looking for affiliates.

Seconding this notion cuz there'll be a new stream of RPers and they won't be left hanging trying to join up ;w;

lol I thought the site was going dead until I saw manta's post on VDex, good to know it won't and happy to see people willing to revive it. I want to give my 2 cents here by saying that I would love the site to return with a Kanto oriente RP and the idea of not having an evil team sounds interesting, it would for sure ease the load for the Mods of said RP. As for the other option, the School RP, well I can't say I am excited about it, maybe because the only RPs I've participated with a theme like that had been Hogwarts/Harry POtter oriented RPs and unlucky -for me- they move along too fast for me to keep up to them. Though that is only MY personal opinion, but since it would bring in diversity to the site, I can only think that to be a good thing so I support the idea of having a least one of those.
I have another idea, and I don't know if you have considered it (maybe its part of the journey Rp group you mentioned, not sure), but one RP I participated and that was very popular on a site I used to RP, (it only died because those of us who played key roles in it were not able to continue posting often due to real life issues), was a sort of medieval/scifi-isc RP where a number of people (at least the first ones to join) would get to control one country/realm/empire/however-you-wanted-it-to-be (all of these on an imaginary earth of course) and select its race (most chose fictional races), form of government, and quarrels or alliances with neighbour countries, though most people were at war xD, it gave the RP a sense a la Game of Thrones that I personally loved and made it very popular, maybe that would be an option to consider since, Game of Thrones is very popular right now and even before that (I participated in this RP before knowing of GoT really) the RP brought it a lot of people, so maybe that type of RPs could help the site?

I would love to see a GoT AU or a GoT-inspired RP here, but I think for simplicity's and worldbuilding's sake, we'd have to do it on a reduced scale. (E.g. keep the setting to the equivalent of King's Landing, use an isolated location in the kingdom, use only a handful of noble families, etc.) But I definitely would enjoy a roleplay that's more on the political/manipulative side! It's not the best option for keeping things simple, given the amount of plotting that would need to go into it even before we start, but it can be something a smaller group of us can maintain.
