Question (forgive the newbie!): so what level would the Pokémon at the first Gym be at? Are we going by in-game levels? I was just wondering since you're talking about evolving (at ~lv. 16) post-second Gym, but in a usual in-game run, I've usually gotten my starter to their second stage even before the first Gym. (Obviously I understand that isn't the norm, but lv. 16 still isn't outrageously past the lv. 12-14 caliber of the first Gym Leader's team.)
edit WOW I DID NOT READ SPESHAL'S POST PLEASE FORGIVE ME

Ok, made a mass post! Just a quickie- you guys don't have to watch us battle, you can go make friends (travel companions *wink wonk*) or just go into the grass outside Pallet Town to start your adventures :>

quick question in regards to special evolutions (since lvl evos have been talked about) ie glaceon & leafeon since those require evolving around a certain area. what would be the case in this roleplay/region for those sorts of evos (or would it just be easier to have eevee become umbreon because that just depends on trainer/pokemon bond)
eta: speshal palia's talking to riley btw! also do pings work when edited in?? we just don't know. (this is me hoping they do)

"Who needs friends and Pokémon names," Savi says.
This is a stupid question (yet again), but how exactly do encounters work? Do we request them to happen, or do they automatically happen every few posts?

Mm I assume Glaceon/Leafeon would have their own set places for evolution. That I'll need to discuss with Miles, since it's undecided where that would be yet Also Tall Grass yields all kinds of things, not the generic Rattata/Pidgey so woah let's roll some fun.

If it does so, I assume I would post Bronzor making that move and then have to wait for you to respond?

More cuteness ahead~

Haha, or you could do a Friendship Catch by asking if Sandile wants to come along without fighting it. The sandwich would be a bonus in helping Sandile make up his mind. Though I don't know if Savi would be inclined to Friendship Catch, it's just a thought.

Savi would definitely be all over those friendship catches, but in their mind it's not so much about friendship as it is about common courtesy. Consent catches, maybe? lol

Still, there's also a roll for that but the sandwich thing would help increase the chances of the Sandile yielding to a Ball or at least following Savi until he makes up his mind. It actually happened with my Mudkip (I failed 2 Friendship Catches due to Mudkip's low catch rate before succeeding the third) and he followed me to like 2 gyms

I really do like the idea of having like a "trial period" for Pokémon to decide whether they're committed to a particular Trainer, though.

So it's like if the Friendship Catch RNG gives a certain number (sorry, GM mechanics) the Pokémon decides that no, it's not willing to join the team yet but they want to hang around. Anything lower is spooking the Pokémon and they flee, and higher being a instant success. I'm thinking that as we go along, the ability to Friendship Catch if used from the beginning gets better and better. There'll also be Pokémon you have to battle, that are too aggressive for Friendship Catching for the sake of difficulty. Since it's a CYOA, levels don't come in play much but it's just a tidbit I've laid on since Alterity- which has my character aggressively Friendship Catching literally everything that moves lmao
