I've never rped as any of these pokemon before, so this is a good chance to start. Since I use Klefki in the games and think it's adorable, I'll go with Klefki^^
any idea how its ability will work for this specific rp?

Like I kind of deflected yesterday, I wasn't really sure how to approach abilities at all for the purposes of the RP. In the past we've used a system where we choose one and we've also been free to use both or all three at the same time and then again I've seen RPs that assign the abilities. I think now that we have five members (one still awaiting app completion), we can put it up to a vote possibly?
And as far as each of Klefki's abilities go, Prankster could just make them able to very quickly use multiple status moves in a row since it increases its speed and it could also be really effective when it gets fired up (like Overgrow or something) whereas Magician is pretty straightforward and steals held items (and possibly items from trainer's bags? I think to be fair though you'd have to let a mod roll the item or have the player choose)

In the manga, Keen Eye is used by focusing vision even under severe circumstances according to the article by what I can infer. So I think that might be good. Maybe even in clouds of smoke and dust, Starly will be able to see well and aim well too? And Reckless should be pretty self-explanatory~ But I think we still need to cast votes on what system we all collectively want to use? One that will be simple is likely preferable~ Are we just choosing one as we like or will we use all of them? Or will you just choose your starter's for now and the future ones will be rolled with the encounters? We need to decide~

Hmm...Well it doesn't say that your attacks hit 100%, it just says that accuracy doesn't go down. So say you have a sableye and it is attacked with sand attack, sableye would be able to see just as clearly as before. So attacks with low accuracy will retain low accuracy and the opponent can still avoid attacks. (not my rp btw, just observation) EDIT: I would prefer us to choose teh 1 starter ability, then for wild or gift pokemon, mods can choose

Thanks for the input guys!
Also, I just picked the one that wasn't hidden/dream world. If we're retrieving a Pokemon from a lab setting or something it didn't feel quite right to give it some special ability.

I think pokemon should have access to both abilities, and the hidden ability activates in a time of need. Why wouldn't a bronzor be heatproof AND be able yo levitate? Does that sound okay?
My app is coming soon.

(random picture) some abilities contradict each other too. Like light metal and heavy metal (idk)

That's true Manta but no Pokemon have access to both of those abilities (I checked to be sure). Unless you have another example it would appear Clef has a point. But I still think it would be most democratic to vote on this so if everyone could be a bit more clear (maybe bolding will be better) in their voting options I'd appreciate it because I only see votes really cast by Manta and Clef at the moment and Spesh said how he chose his but that's not really a vote..

What are the clear-cut choices? If I get the options laid out I'll make a decision on what I vote for.
I should really read more. I vote for multiple abilities at once as long as they make sense.

Oh I just didn't have time to check for a real one. The problem arose in the original Hoenn RP, which led to the added rule that two base abilities could not be had if they contradict. like Sableye's stall and prankster (if you want, I can look up more. That was just the first to come to mind) One allows certain moves to always go first while the other makes moves always go last EDIT: Crustle's shell armor and weak armor too (for rp purposes) EDIT #2: or Lucario's Inner focus and steadfast

Seconding Spesh. If it makes sense, we can roll with it. Also we're ignoring abilities of Mega formes too, unless they can get it

I think it sounds like a good idea and most everyone currently seems in agreement that all abilities should be allowed (with hidden abilities appearing preferably much rarer than the others) and if we come across an example of a Pokemon with a conflict through the actual RP, we can call it a regional variety issue or something or say that certain packs have certain abilities they pass on and pick one or the other. That all sounds good. Regarding Mega Forms, it's statistically unrealistic we'll see a Mega anytime soon but if it comes up and they need to use a new ability, we can discuss it and see if it's required to address. Sound good? And Wyndi and Clef are still working on their apps and I'm glad we have a lot of interest generated already~ Though it's late so I'm heading off soon~

Profile is done! (Link here.) As a side note, I won't be on all day tomorrow due to work, so you may have to wait a little for my response to profile edit requests, starter Pokémon choices, etc. Happy New Year, everyone!
