drac Sela just remains silent and lets people walking by think that Zach is talking to himself. :p All I wanted to do was just finish reading this psychology article, she mourns.

sammie If looking up pics doesn't work, I've found dollmakers/dress-up games to be extremely helpful.
Let me know what you decide for the alias! :)

Wyndi OHhh, good point~ I played around with a few dollmakers and found one in particular that helped me visualize her better~ (i'll try to think of a description later when I can concentrate better. I have a horrible head-ache right now, klgrklgr.) But here's a example image, at any rate: {Spoiler} clef Cleric is perfect for her, lkglkrgr. I did a quick check and couldn't find any X-Men characters with that alias, so..~ Thanks~ (Your the alias-king~)

I want to be sure to add that I totally wish to enter this RP but I've just been busy as of late, I'll finish filling out the app when I find the time. Currently working on Parrot, my old omniglot hero OC, and a new one with the power to charmspeak~

Mdf No worries; we've still got a bit of planning to do before we start anyway. Also, Parrot sounds familiar....I know them from another roleplay, right?

This is really dumb, but the Mdf-Pavarotti-Parrot connection has been made and now all I can imagine is Parrot as a boy with the head of Pavarotti.
Okay, while we wait for Parrot to show up, we should at least pretend to start planning. What kind of scenes would people like to play? (Daily life? Lessons? Sparring? I know some of those sound boring, but personally I love the casual use of powers in everyday life, and those are the X-Men scenes I always replay the most. Using ice powers to chill a Coke? One of the coolest (...pun unintended) things I can imagine.) Or would people like to see an overarching plot - or at least something more dramatic? We can always do something akin to the movie plots: world wants to round up or cure the mutants; older mutant students and graduates go on the run, etc.

I really want to start off at lunch or a break or something so we can see what kinds of relationships the characters have. I'd like to eventually get to some sort of plot but for now I think a lot of school stuff + casual life would be fun.

I'm a fan of starting off with casual, everyday life for this too. The idea of starting around lunchtime sounds good since some people could be eating or others could even be using their time for other means. But tbh I am all about playing some fun, day to day stuff.
An overarching plot could definitely come in to play later to add some drama, ie people attempting to round up & cure mutants like you've said, and that (like in the movies?) could spark a resistance group who want to either change humans in to mutants somehow or kill 'em.

Silas Theodore Jewett (a.k.a. Parrot) gender Male | age 15 | sexual orientation Biromantic Homosexual
power(s) Silas is an omniglot, which means he can understand and "speak" any language automatically. His teachers once theorized that his brain utilizes a mixture of grammar, roots, sounds, and linguistic patterns from languages he has already had exposure to (English as a first language, French as a second in preschool education, but later he was able to pick up many others very rapidly just by minor association) but in testing this theory by trying to test him with lingusticly isolated languages and other forms of communication, he proved them wrong because he can communicate as well with people who speak isolate languages as with those who speak sign languages as with most computer coding as with animals, which disprove this theory in a number of ways. Despite this, his brain may somehow be wired as a supercomputer lingustic (and fully functional) translation apparatus. Though he generally responds in the language spoken to him, sometimes when tired he does get confused and begin to talk in other languages, often without realizing it, much to the confusion of others. He also has a lot more trouble adapting to computer codes than most other languages, though no one is completely clear on why, though it probably has something slightly to do with the fact that computer coding is not all about words but also format and such that is often unnecessary in written or spoken language. He can also get more easily tired while communicating in Khoisian or Tsou languages. Another oddity is that often in trying to control or overexert his powers is that Silas often imitates sounds (not words, but noises) at random times but with irregularity. Though if he hones this power, he actually can/will develop heightened powers of outside noise to vocal mimicry, though the exact usefulness or extent of this extra, untapped gift is currently unknown.
personality Silas is a bright and cheerful boy with an excitable demeanor. He thinks he would genuinely enjoy the thrill of crime fighting and helping people and cannot wait for the more intensive combat classes he will soon be receiving. He wants to be a hero to use his talents to help people and though he understands the risks involved, he admires those like him (like the X-Men) and aims to be as brave as them one day and fight for what is right regardless of the risks from enermies and misunderstanding innocents alike. Silas is quick-witted and seemingly tireless and ambitious. His animated nature often comes across as fidgety or busy and this can sometimes be offensive to people who think he is being insincere. He is bold and resourceful but his gullible, often tactless comments and actions can get him into trouble at times. He likes to believe the best in people and therefore has a hard time understanding why people might ever hurt other purposefully but his ignorant, innocent thinking is often thought of as naive and childish of a boy his age, in his situation. Silas is also an incredibly tolerant boy, having not only come into contact with many who experienced similar situations as his own at Helix but also a great variety of people throughout his life who are very different; his language skills also help him accel at the tolerance of cultures and beliefs due to the distinct tie between these concepts.

Mdf Do you mind giving us more specifics on Silas's personality? Other than that, the rest of the profile looks good.
And this is optional, of course, but if you have the time/inclination, do you mind giving the rest of us a brief background on both the Khoisan and Tsou languages?

Oh sure, I don't mind. I'll edit it in a couple hours though, when I have greater computer access to allow me the proper amount of time. And regarding the languages, one is a large language "family" and the other is a smaller subset of a language "family" but it still incorporates several languages (I'll give a fuller explanation though, gladly, later when I do the edits~). There really isn't any reason for those particular groups, I simply randomized the results.
