Early sunlight in the morning cutting through the air in luminous golden beams. Interrupted only by the smoke clouds that casually passed through. Twisting and writhing in the air randomly animating in short bursts of swirled movement from the wind's influence. A man of 27 sat on the porch of his apartment home on the second floor admiring this performance, this display of delicious information that wowed him to the core. It was beautiful, as all things seemed to become to him lately. It was a rare phenomena but some days he could sit brooding about the impossibilities of the world and the unfair hand he felt it had dealt him. But lately, a journey hard fought had been walked giving clarity to the disturbed mind.
He sat there smoking a pipe and taking the time; and the sounds of the world turning outside, those cogs of society, to think. Something that was a bit of a past time to him. He'd escape to a place somewhere in those clouds for but a few seconds but what sometimes felt like eternity, imagining the possibilities what he could do with the future before him.
"UH-OH!"
Snapped out of his trance, he gazed upon his child. So close to two he may as well have been gazed upon him with sad blue eyes, that puppy dog face with a cell-phone outstretched towards him. The man sighed. And then he took a breath. The boy placed the phone in the man's hand and, with a hand ready to rub those big blue waterys, asked politely "Peas?"
Please the man thought. He smiled. Beautiful.
