The New Murto Region OCC

We are going to try this again. In the past, those of you who have roleplayed with me have seen a consistent pattern that more or less involves an excellent story for months followed by a sharp decline in posts. I have not been fair to you all and I sincerely apologize so as a result, I want to include the community in a special project of mine. It is no secret to those closest to me that I occasionally like to design the occasional fakemon. Well, with the help of a few, we are painstakingly making that a reality.

Why Do I Need You Guys?

Well, though I am excellent at fabricating rich imaginary lands, situations and such, I work solely from one point of view. So therefore I have a game to play.

The Game

You guys will be roleplaying this new region as it develops. It will of course contain the original Pokemon for now but as we continue, they will become less and less prevalent. You will travel as Tamers (similar to trainers) in the far away continent of Murto. A rich land in biodiversity and biomes, it has been a haven for a plethora of previously undiscovered species. As the main scientist continues his research, he asks that a small band of Tamers from faraway lands attempt the local Pokemon League Challenge in an effort to gain knowledge on these new species.

I will of course represent any NPCs within the game. However, the main difference (and the biggest hinderance of the previous roleplays I have headed) is that players will not need me to interact with wild Pokemon.

Finding a Wild Pokemon

When you wish to encounter a wild pokemon, simply place at the bottom of your post, Wild Pokemon Encounter. I will then randomly generate a wild Pokemon for you. From there, you will battle it on your own. Decide if you win or lose it doesn't matter. However, if you wish to capture the Pokemon, I will then look over your posts and use my equations and randomizers to calculate your chance of success. There is a limit to 3 Pokemon every major city. So on your way to the first town from the starter town, you are able to capture 3 Pokemon/Fakemon.

If you are a player from the old Kanto and Heresy Threads, because those threads contained fractured timelines, you may select any of your past representations complete with the Pokemon they obtained on their travels. Just invent an alternate timeline for them or perhaps something even more mysterious.

Forgetful Tactician


Name: Manta

Appearance: 



Personality: Dispite his clothing choices, Manta is actually a very nice boy. His hoodie came from a very special someone and he refuses to part with it. Manta cares deeply for others, often sacrificing his own time and effort for others. He can get excited when the mood calls for it. He thinks of himself as an empath, easily sensing the feelings of those around him and exhibiting those same feelings. Though, he wonders if everyone can do that. Sometimes this leads him to make rash decisions. In the past, some people had taken advantage of that. Manta is now more wary of strangers while still keeping his optimism high. He can be competitive, not allowing himself to lose a argument if there is even a sliver room for his argument to grow. He is very good at figuring out strategies and thinking things through but often forgets the first step in his plans if he thinks too far ahead. Manta tries his best to see the good and talents of every person or thing that he meets, giving a bright smile and looking towards the future.


History: Before Manta decided to travel with a pokemon, he had made a hard dicision to leave his friends and attend pokemon school in a separate town. Because of the teary goodbye that he made, one of his older and closest friends gave him a hoodie. Though the shirt was much too big for him at the time and the skull on the front may give others the wrong message, he still kept it. Through the years, Manta learned much about pokemon, remembering many details and traits. When Manta finally graduated, he stayed home for a bit for to enjoy life there before needing to travel. He enjoyed cooking, using local ingredients to make food for his neighbors as well as pokemon. He made many efforts to watch pokemon battles and contests both in person and on television. His love for pokemon only grew as he did. At 15, Manta finally decided to leave home and start his journey at Littleroot town. He took the hoodie that had finally fit comfortably now, to remind him of his friends and went off. It was the first step to the rest of his life.

After just barely defeating his second gym leader in Hoenn, Manta took time away from gym battles to train and participate in Pokemon Contests. He was looking to find the spark that would sharpen his mind. In that time, Manta sharpened his battle skills and became excellent at developing strategies to bring out the best in his pokemon. He also discovered the fairy type and become infatuated with it. He now puts effort into learning more about this magical new type, and has decided to travel to the Murto Region to get a fresh start.

RP EXAMPLE: .....Manta walks into the new town. A feild of grass is seen and almost entices him to sprawl himself on the ground and relax. He then looks across the feild and sees a large row of moss covered boulders with a large but feeble tree in the middle. He goes over only do hear faint sounds on the other side.

"Diggli dee, diggli dee" is all that is heard from the other side.

" That sounds a bit familiar..." Manta reaches into his bag and pulls out a pokeball. The small orb was thrown into the air. "Chatot!" with a burst of light, a small bird came flapping out. it stood tall but seemed a bit coonfused as it was in an unfamiliar place. "Chatot, can you listen to that sound so you can repeat it later?"

Chatot looked a bit excited as it got to do it's favorite thing. It stood perfectly still and listened. I t seemed as though the mysterious sound was far away and may have been to hard to hear.

"hmmm...it's alright Chatot, you don't have to-"

"Diggli Dee!" Squaked Chatot.

"Oh, Fantastic! you got it already." Manta began walking towards the city, satisfied in what they had accomplished and headed toward the pokemon Center.

Name: Jason 'Jongho' Song 

Age: 17 

Gender: Male 

Appearance: A lanky teenaged boy with dyed reddish-brown hair. His pupils are pale grey, and he usually conceals them with shutter shades to prevent people from staring. He usually wears knitted cardigans, turtlenecks under fur jackets, exuding a classy air. Sometimes he also loops a scarf around his neck, but it's rare and far beyond. Oddly enough, he brings around a rucksack with god-knows-what stored inside, which clashes greatly with his 'look' and causes him to be the butt of jokes.

Personality: Generally an intelligent and snobbish fellow, though Jongho doesn’t often understand what he’s gotten himself into. He’s highly perceptive and has an incredibly keen eye for detail, which is obvious from his prior job. However, Jongho is obviously clueless over how to control his Pokémon and tends to end up bumbling. Jongho also has a great sense of self-pride and cares a lot about how people see him, so being a ‘freak’ has caused him nothing but distress. Jongho often has difficulty expressing his feelings to others, and is often a loner due to how he presents himself as a huge snob. He also fears Ghost-type Pokémon with a burning vengeance, and would probably end up running away screaming in the opposite direction if confronted with any.

History: Jongho was an intelligent boy, albeit rebellious. His parents, on their last legs from being constantly driven up the wall by him, ended up sending him away to a distant relative (who also happened to be a Fossil Maniac). To their surprise, Jongho ended up mellowing greatly and even picking up a vested interest in old artifacts from the eccentric relative of his. Things went awry when an excavation in Unova went horribly wrong- Jongho was briefly possessed by a Confagurious and due to this his eye color paled to grey from the usual hazel. His relative felt partially responsible for causing the accident to occur, so against Jongho's protests sent him away to the Murto Region in the hopes that he would return with his own Pokémon and much stronger than before.

"Avery, let's do it! Finish it off with Flame Charge!" The Braixen, crushed under the Tropius's Stomp, struggled for a few moments before cloaking himself in flames and uppercutting the Tropius with his head. Sailing into the air, the Braixen allowed himself to land gracefully on the ground before firing a Psyshock at the Tropius to counter the charged-up Solarbeam. They pushed each other for a few moments, before an explosion occurred. As the smoke cleared, both Pokémon were down. A whistle was blown, and there was a countdown from ten.

Shinhye's fists were balled, staring at her Braixen. "Come on, come on, I believe in you...." she whispered, as the countdown continued. The referee was about to wave the flag to declare it a draw when Avery stirred, staggering up to his hind paws and raising his stick defiantly. Shinhye squealed in delight, hugging the Braixen as she clawed to another hard-won victory. Avery coughed slightly, but still smiled as he held Shinhye's hand to walk off the side of the podium. Shouldn't we head home by now? Dad would be worried, y'know. reminded the Braixen quietly, smoothening his fur and using a wet towel to wipe off the dirt and grime. "Yeah, you're right. I don't want Bro to find out either," commented Shinhye, using a comb to fix the Braixen's hairdo while she tied her long hair back into a bun, "He'd probably nag at me again, I hate that."

All this was witnessed by a rather charming Meowth in a scarf, who picked at his teeth with a long claw. He mewed calmly, watching the humans mingle to and fro with detached interest. He was just hanging out here, none of the humans' business truly concerned him.

A slender girl with long, thick light-brown hair that seems to act as a cloak for her back. There is always some sort of nature in her hair, be it a flower, a leaf, or even twigs. Her skin is a soft pale adorned with grey pearls for eyes. She wears a pristine white blouse that has long sleeves and is tucked neatly into her leaf-green pencil skirt with a pink strip of fabric tied around her waist. On her feet is a pair of worn-out pink sandals.
