~~
as you approach the door, you hear warm sounds from behind it; sounds of merriment and lighthearted conversation escape through the cracks of what seems to be a well-lit chalet in the small woods of AZALEA TOWN. you have no reservations about entering yet for some reason you hesitate. you then realize you have paused for quiet reflection on why you are here. you have a couple hours off, maybe the day, maybe you just need to surround yourself with more diverse company ... whatever the reason was, you are here now.
you smile broadly and reach for the doorknob except it appears to be missing. strange -it seems like this door can just be pushed open. you study the large slab of oak and see no trace of a handle or even a lock for that matter. all that meets you at eye level is a wax shuckle head poking out, its eyes squinted in pure joy, its happy mouth curved upwards as if about to spring to life and spark conversation on how your day's been going, if you've been eating well, how your mother's been doing recently. you sigh a breath of relief and push open the door, light streaming out of the room faster and faster until it almost fully illuminates the trees and shrubbery behind you. it's an unnatural light that doesn't belong in this forest, but makes it wonderful nonetheless. you take a moment to absorb all this and feel a deep connection with the forest glowing a honey orange with hope and age. you turn around and step inside.
glasses clink, music is loud (with the most uninhibited earnest singing!), laughter is falling out of mouths and you are in love. two people drape their arms over your shoulders and immediately guide you to a bright red, white and yellow jukebox with a happy wax shuckle head similar to the one you saw on the door. you peer over your shoulder at the rest of the people in the room who shout words of encouragement. choose a song, be one with it, you are home.

REMEMBER SHEDINJA UNNECESSARILY DRAMATICALLY PRESENTS... SHUCKLE JUKEBOX
alright, well this is the music rec thread in all its official glory. i'll edit up this first post to fancy it up when i have ideas on how to do that (or if you have ideas, we are equal idea employers here on RS.)
every friday will be the start of a new *week* at which point a whole new slew of artists can be contributed. there isn't any time where you can't contribute but Mini's week idea also allows us to look at how our music tastes maybe shift? iono. we'll see.
i will also (as terrible as this is) break selections down by genre so people know exactly what they're going to be listening to if they would want to pore through music selections that way (assuming this gets big).
the most important thing though is that it would be cute/cool/raw/real if with every song suggestion you have to drop in a line about what the song feels like. note that this is NOT how this song makes you feel, it is how this song as a song feels in material description (ie. this song feels like pouring lemonade into a glass full of ice on a hot summer day.)
FORMAL ~^*RULE*^~ BREAKDOWN:
1. post a song. - artist. - album. - year. - genre. 2. post a line underneath describing what this song feels like.
that's it! if you have any more suggestions, let me know!

Well, I'll try. o3o If I do anything wrong, just let me know, and I'll try to fix it~ note: I also decided to add a little comment to some of the songs, so, yeah. o3o Evening Sun - The StrokesFirst Impressions of Earth | 2006 | alternative, I think? like declaring your love for someone you won't see againln(little note): this song is so poetical. The two last lines before the final chorus always gets me~ Also, I really, really like this band. <3 Deadlines and Commitments - The KillersBattle Born | 2012 | Indie rock the embrace of a friend telling you you're safeBurnin' For You - Blue Öyster CultFire of Unknown Origin | 1981 | Progressive rock a mystical road trip in search of true loveln: I knew the band before I got to know the song, and I think this might be their best. How Soon Is Now? - The SmithsMeat Is Murder | 1985 | Alternative feels like wasted chances and the wondering of "what if"ln: I could listen to this song a thousand times and not get bored of it. Love Morrissey's voice. Lithium - NirvanaNevermind | 1991 | Grunge when something big's about to happen, and you just don't careWhere Did You Sleep Last Night? - NirvanaUnplugged in New York | 1994 | Grunge/Folk dark woods of lonelinessln: after listening to many versions of this song, I can safely say Nirvana's is the best imo. Kurt's voice and the way he screams during the chorus are hauntingly amazing. I could give you guys some more, but I think that's enough for my first post. xD If you didn't know any of the songs in here, listened and liked it, I'd love to know~ :3

i'm cool with limiting it to just two songs! less clutter and we all end up making a good playlist length thing for the week. with that, here are this week's songs!
Gold - Sir Sly You Haunt Me | 2014 | indie pop/alt. rock running through a foggy, mystical forest
When the Night - St. Lucia When the Night | 2013 | indie electronic driving through cities with the windows down, or as the perks of being a wallflower put it: infinite.
