Yes, picky Wyndi is back at it again, folks.
Is there a way to change the default hyperlink color? Right now, hyperlinks are the exact same white as any default text, so it's hard to know when they're there. Thanks!

Support. It's awfully hard to tell where a hyperlink is when everything is the same color. Even if it's a simple underline to differentiate it makes it that much easier.

Yes. I can do this (I believe), you just have to figure out what color you all feel would be best.
Also, I'd like to add that I may add the option to use the old design as well if I can figure it out.

While you still have access to your admin powers, Spesh, I should advise you that anything you did to the old design was wiped when I tried to mess with the coding and hit an error. It's back to an old default that looks nothing like what you had made it into. Personally, I like this one and JJX and I are talking about festive layouts throughout the year in terms of palette swaps but for the most part I think we should just keep this. As far as hyperlinks go, I've tried to do this many times in the past because, trust me, it's just as annoying to me as well...but I have yet to do anything other than confuse and annoy myself. With your knowledge of coding, would you mind taking a look at it Spesh? As long as you can change it, making it any color you want (though I suggest a blue to keep the overall color scheme intact) so long as we can figure out how to change it in the future to a more permanent setting~

I think I'd prefer a light to mid-grey for hyperlink color....Since our post backgrounds are alternating shades of blue, having another blue would make the link hard to read (even if it does stand out).

I honestly think we have too many blues already. Like, it's kind of a crazy blue palette we have going on with this site so maybe stick to something more neutral, like a gray for the hyperlinks. Or like if we want to stick to blues coherently, this post is a masterlink of all sorts of palette resources where we can make a more cohesive color palette to find a good blue for links.

I'll let you guys figure out what color you would like. Just let me know once a decision has been reached. I am indifferent to the idea and will agree with whatever is decided.
Also, the only reason I wanted to provide an alternate design for people is because of how unappealing it can be to open a new forum with nothing but boards laid out. We really have no "welcome wagon". I've stated this before as well. There's no way for us to give people that don't get referred or come from vDex a chance to understand what we're trying to establish here. Most people when first viewing a board are more likely to dismiss it when they stare at a wall of subforums than if they're greeted with a happy image with a bit of separated text that tells what's going on.

I agree, we really do need an informative header of some sort. I didn't realize that that was what you meant when you brought that up - my idea was to have a default, nicely formatted "welcome post" that one of the mods could post in a new member's intro thread, and the "welcome post" would have links to the most commonly used areas of the board. (Most roleplay-specific forums I've been on did this, but their forum layouts tended to be less self-explanatory than RShed's. Still, it might be helpful.)
Alternatively, if there is a system built in for it (I know freeforums has this feature), then if a new member could automatically get a "welcome PM" upon registering, that would be great, too.
Obviously neither of these options address the whole not-registering-in-the-first-place issue, but...yeah.

For now, I'm going to be adding a color poll to the first post. If there is anything other than a "gray" or "blue" choice in the works, let me know.
